For the 5th story, if I were OP, I would've pressed charges on Karen's husband and filed a formal complaint against the arresting officers for false detainment and discrimination. I mean just because someone has tattoos and bullet wounds doesn't mean they are a gang member. Then the manger states that OP is no longer welcome in the store, despite him doing nothing wrong. would've asked if Karen and her hubby were also banned. I am willing to bet they aren't. If I were OP I would go full Karen. I would contact corporate, leave multiple scathing reviews detailing what happened, and I might even contact new stations to see if any were interested.

*Story 5:* I wouldve gone full scorched earth. Pressed charges against the Karen's husband for assault. Filed a complaint against the police department for being cuffed without a prior investigation. Called corperate for the store and told them that their manager welcomes violent customers with open arms, but bans people who defend themselves against them.

I remember in HS (late 70’s), I would help my father out on jobs as he was a flooring contractor. During the summer this would entail painting basketball courts and refinishing gymnasiums. I had a pair of carpenter pants, mottled with paint and polyurethane stains, that I liked to wear when I worked. I wore them one day to school and one of my teachers had the gall to tell me young ladies shouldn’t dress so shabbily. I told her it was a good thing then that I’m not a young “lady” and would never want to be. This was an ongoing peeve of my mother’s that I didn’t measure up to the neighbors’ daughters, who were in my mother’s eyes, young ladies.

My dad works in a factory as a skilled machinist and makes good money. This happened in the early 2000s when he bought a brand new Ford Fusion (i think it was in 2003 or 2004?) He went into the dealership right after work just to look at cars to see if they had what he wanted in yet, but he had no plans to drive it, just see if the model he had seen online was available and if they had the color he wanted, and then go home amd change to come back and test them if they had some. His clothes were stained up and had some fraying and oil/grease on them. He said every single salesperson ignored him or even turned up their nose at him except the one female employee who recognized the opportunity to make a sale to a hard working man. She found out what he wanted, started the paperwork on it, and even insisted he test drive one of the other cars in that model to make sure he liked the feel of it. He tried to turn her down since his clothes were dirty and she told him basically "nonsense that's what our full time detailing is for. Go test drive that model and if you like it, I'll get the paperwork set up for you. We'll send that car to the detail shop and keep a nice fresh model never driven for you to pick up after you go home and change." My dad then had a chat with the sales manager and told him that the female sales rep is the only reason they didn't lose his sale that day because he was upset at how he was treated but she made up for it and deserves a raise.

A few years ago, due to life changes, I was completely starting over. Although, we have pretty decent public transportation, it was still difficult to go to interviews. I hadn’t had access to a car for several years, so my sister thought it would be easier to get a job with better transportation. There was car for sale down the block and she said it’s only $2000! It did have low miles on it, and was in good condition. Plus it was free to me, so I was very grateful for the gift, being so happy to have such a generous sister. It turned out to be a Ford Crown Victoria, but it actually was a boat in disguise. Although, in the 90’s I work at a Ford Truck dealership. I had driven a Ford Bronco, but that was 30 years ago. The other point is it was formerly a Metro cop car. Luckily, their cars were all white. All the equipment had been stripped out, and any identifying marks on it were removed, except the spotlight. Never used this. The people that got caught doing this faced several consequences. I’m not interested in dealing with those. What was funny is when people saw the car, they would slow down, and then see a 66 year old woman, who can barely see over the steering wheel (I had to sit on a thick pillow), driving down the street. I got used to driving a the boat, but my daughter now has it, and it’s grown on her.

Always press charges and if the employees are part of the problem call corporate as well. That manager doesn't deserve to hold that position especially since he was willing to ban a victim of a karen that means he only sides with money so his customers who aren't rich and staff always get screwed over by him in order to keep the money happy.

Many, many moons ago, my Lady Wife was on her way home from work. She got off the bus at her usual stop "downtown" and was waiting for her roommate to pick her up. (She usually walked home from there, but the weather was bad.) So she's standing there waiting when a car pulls up next to her and rolls down the window. The occupant of the car then propositions my wife. Just as my wife is telling the guy off, a young lady comes charging out of the White Castle on the corner, and berates my wife for trying to steal customers from "her" corner! Now, my wife had just come from her retail job, and was dressed nothing like a 'professional." My wife has a powerful contralto voice, a wide vocabulary and a fine command of language. She read both of them the riot act,. then walked a little farther down the block to wait for her roommate. We laugh about it whenever we pass that corner.

Anyway, the town didn't look like much and my mom worked as a server in the local restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner there would be a bunch of oldish men there in their work clothes. Farmers all of them. So picture filthy overalls, dirty faces and hands. They looked as if they couldn't even afford a cup of coffee. However, the secret here was that about at least 50% of them were actually millionaires and the other 50% were pretty well off. But they were farmers. They weren't bankers. They wore the clothes their professions required. They drove beat-up pick up trucks, because who wants to put farming equipment in a BMW? Good rule: Don't judge a book by it's cover.

As a side note: anti panhandling laws are largely unconstitutional here in the US. It's covered under the first Amendment as free speech. It's a charitable request for assistance. It's not that different than the concepts behind yelling fire in a crowded theater. You are absolutely allowed to yell fire in a crowded theater and that's protected by the first Amendment... If there's an actual fire in the theater that you're warning people about. It's not the words or the location that is illegal, It's when you say something untruthful in such a way as to cause damage to people or property from the fallout of the utterance of those words. So with that said merely asking people for money should not be illegal in the US only asking for money in such a way that causes damage to people or property or creates a dangerous situation thereof like stepping into a busy lane of traffic. And even then all of those things that a person can do that create a dangerous situation while they are panhandling are already illegal individually anyhow... Making anti-panhandling laws superfluous at best even if they could pass constitutional muster which they don't when they are actually tested in court. Part of the problem is that the very people most affected by the unconstitutional panhandling laws are also the least likely to be able to fight it in court to prove that it's unconstitutional.
