    So the Karen in the first story walked around for 15 minutes looking for an employee when she could have used that time to replace the item herself?

    Story 3, I only lied about work once, it was when I was working security. A lady had come up to me seeing my shirt with big bright letters reading security and asked me to help her get her and her friends away from some creep that was following them. I put on my jacket to cover my tags and logo and followed them to help get them out. When this guy approached he looked like he had rolled in garbage and smelt like it too he wanted to fight me and asked why I was helping them if I don't work there so I told him I don't work here I just act like a human and took them away, later found out the guy was a known drug user and would regularly assault people for any reason he could find. One of the weirdest moments of working security

    Story two..... Being violently grabbed and spun around should always result in an immediate backhanding across the eyes followed by an assault charge. 😡
    Story four.... I was thinking as soon as the man attacked OP, my thought was "kick him in the cojones and frog march him out the door"! OP was kinder than me. 🤨
    Last story.... Rabid Karen got "fired"... as a customer! 😆

    • @Ryanthusar
      @Ryanthusar ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Story 2 - Only if in your STATE it would be seen as an assault charge, for either person. And since defending one's self from a possible attacker is classed as self-defense then neither would be charged. The guard was doing his duty by protecting the property. He failed past stopping OP however by continuing to try and pull OP away from his place of residence WITHOUT checking ID. Security guards in many places do have the right to stop you from entering the premises, if that means grabbing you to stop you from doing so then they are allowed to do that as long as they dont use excessive force. However in OPs case by defending himself in such a manner, and then walking towards the guard to even help him up, which could have been perceived as a followup attack by the guard, had the guard's actions still within the use of proper force.
      Just because in your state they are lax in allowing security guards to manhandle someone doesnt mean its the same everywhere else.

    • @lancerevell5979
      @lancerevell5979 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my state, unarmed security guards have no arrest authority, and cannot put hands on a person without consent. I worked unarmed security for awhile, and had I done what this guy did, I could have been charged with assault. Granted, other places can have different rules.

    Keyboard story: I've been to a LOT of Walmart Supercenters over the years (I was a truck driver) and I've never seen one so big you couldn't cross it two or three times in 15 minutes! She could have returned it herself since she should know where she got it from instead of looking for an employee to do it for her.
    Security story: "I know our uniform." Apparently not if you can't tell the difference between blue, tan and white.
    Dishwasher story: Really can't blame the hardware store clerk for not wanting to interact with crazy. I really think we all need to carry around business cards with the names, addresses and phone numbers of local optometrists, cause these Karens all seem to have one thing in common, they don't see well.

    I have never seen an employee directly lie just to get out of doing something. My theory is that these people are simply unwilling to admit that they are wrong. They see someone who looks vaguely employee like or just that they think should work there and make demands. when they are corrected they double down because they have chosen and are unwilling to admit their mistake. the thought process would go something like this "I am significant. you look like you are insignificant. if you are insignificant you must serve me. if you don't want to serve me there must be something wrong with you because i cannot be wrong."
    I don't have specific evidence to back this up, just observations.

      Drunk Karen through homophobic slurs ( I am not gay) and threatened GBH ( UK law term for grevious bodily harm, threatening it wouldn't get you a GBH charge but she clearly intended to inflict that sort of harm, she'd probably have got a charge for the fact she acted and threatened violence if I had followed through with the cops as well as the hate crime law ls she broke)
      This was all because she'd been refused sale of alcohol because she was extremely drunk, which I am legally obliged to do
      As soon as she heard no she went off of the rails
      Karen's think that There's only service to them and no where other than that
      Or in some cases pleasant when shits done for them but violent when they don't get served
      In any case of Karen's they can't comprehend the thought that they may be wrong or that they wont be served
      Honestly it'd be funny but I reckon the biggest percentage of these people just have bad mental issues

Sounds like a quick way to see how long it takes for: A) an Ambulance to get there, B) How long it takes the EMTs/Paramedics to treat Idiot at scene, C) how long it takes the Ambulance to transport you too the closest Hospital, & D) What the wait time for: ER, X-Ray, and a Hospital Bed is!!!

    I worked in a big box store as a department manager years ago and on a day off i was in the store as a woman saw me and asked for help. I told her i work there and it was my day off, but helped her anyway. I asked her how she knew i worked there and she said that it was the way i walked through the store with authority. It made me feel good. If it was me walking through the store when i no longer worked there, i probably would have helped her anyway because it was simply a question of where to find something. I've actually helped people in stores i simply shop at, like if they are disabled grab items. I would never tell someone i don't work in a place i work at even while off the clock. If customer service has taught me anything, it is to help people.

    Story 4 was wow! I've had some violent people in my place of employment before but not like that. I've seen some hellish people however. Worst so far is someone who threw a bag of candy (Soft thankfully) When we didn't accept her returns... That she bought at another store. (We're a dollar store, ya know Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, Dollar General) One of these with the dollar in the name. And she complained that we, a different store, didn't do returns for her. Even when we pointed it out she said it was all the same, didn't care, and didn't want to drive a few blocks down to go to the correct store.
    Our store doesn't have cameras really, that said I was fairly young and still baby faced at the time, and when this lady became violent I got lucky cause when it hit me a man, who I didn't know at the time was an off duty cop, stepped in, pinned her down, sadly I can't say what happen next mostly cause my boss stepped in and sent me home cause I was clearly pretty upset and my shift was almost over anyway, thankfully somewhere was there to cover for me.
    I guess moral is, never take things like this to any physical level, you will NOT win in the end. You will be tackled, or hit back, or charged with a crime, and if you are that emotional and angry please seek help for your own good

    Story 4: I can relate to that. One time, back when an gas station used to be my stomping grounds, I ringed up a tow truck driver. I did committed an honest mistake by telling him that I don't own him money and when I told him my bad, well he threatened me by beating me up in the parking lot. And what s even more hilarious? I think her neice (former co worker whom I'm not on speaking terms from a incident that contributed to leaving for my current job) got his attitude
    Edit: story 5: yes, we wear black shirts. Some cases, no it does not have the company logo. And yes, in most cases, our name tags are yellow

    Unfortunately, since I work as a 3rd party contractor for a certain orange hardware store, I get confused as an employee all the time. Our company does the big remodels for the stores and I do the day time maintenance. (checking all signage is updated, putting signs on areas we've moved to new areas, answering store questions, taking inventory of our product and letting my boss know if we need more, cleaning up any potential messes, doing smaller sets, etc) When we do move things and I haven't had a time to update anything, associates do often ask me where things have been moved and I can answer them, but a lot of customers take that as I work for the store....which I don't. I work AT the location, not FOR the location.
    I do try to answer any questions that they may have in the area we're working on, but if someone asks, I always respond "I don't work for the store, but I work for the company doing the project....what do you need help finding, cuz if its moved, we moved it." Most of the time its fine and I can show them where they need to go, but a few times...I've had people ask me to do things like cut wire, pull pallets, etc....and get mad when I say I can't. And I will say....contractors are some of the most self entitled people I've ever dealt with.

    It seems to be some of the requirements for being in the 'Karen' club are, entitlement, lack of situational awareness, poor reading and compression skills,and due to their entitlement thinking everybody is lying when they say they don't work somewhere. These seem to be Some of the most common traits of the 'Karen Clu '. Is there a training course they go through? And a minimum standard? Oh and the #1 rule is 'Never admit you're wrong. In fact, double down and cause as big of a scene as possible.' Rule #2 is 'Lie as much as possible. Accuse the one you are confronting of attacking you.' Rule ð3 'Threaten to get the one(s) who won't bow down and serve you fired and to call the cops.' Intimidation, Intimidation, Intimidation, that is the key to getting what you want.

Walking through a mall with my wife, I saw a mother just standing still looking into the distance while her son (probably under 5 years old) was lying on the floor on his back, legs kicking, and shouting, full on tantrum, and she just ignored him, waiting for him to forget whatever got him going.
