mine did the same to my books, which is why I went the opposite direction and still have all of my kids collectibles even after I moved to a new house. the way I saw it, they once enjoyed collecting them, and when they're older they may like having them again and having fun telling their kids or grandkids what it was like when they first bought them.
""you're (x) age, you don't need to be playing with games/comics"" Karens like that need to re-learn that you can't steal other people's property and sell it, EVEN IF IT'S YOUR OWN KID'S PROPERTY. It's not YOURS.
Story 1 - All I can say is that thank goodness Malcom found OP and ran to him (or rather into him) when he got away from that crazy Karen mother and that he was safe. I mean WTH was she thinking?! YOU DON’T UNSTRAP A CHILD FROM THEIR PARENT AND WALK AWAY WITH THEM JUST TO PROVE THEY’RE NOT AUTISTIC!! I hope that lady got charged to the MAX!
@@alantran4901 that is the reason I brought a lot of my collectible stuff to my college dorm when I started at university, because I didn’t want my parents (specifically my stepmom) to throw away any of my stuff because she sees my stuff as mostly pointless and would most likely throw my stuff away if she had the chance. And yeah it would piss me off if they did throw out my stuff without my consent.
Story 1 - Thank goodness Malcom found OP and that he was safe. That Karen is lucky to still be walking because I know some parents who would NOT take too kindly to anyone touching their children.
I get so bloody GD tired of idiotic people, usually girls, who don't like harnesses on kids. I am not overly fond of kids, never wanted one, but I have always viewed harnesses as a common sense approach to dealing with runners.. Mind their own damn business these goody two-shoe bleeding heart **** people who thinks this is such a bad thing. let them run off and something bad happens, and the same hypocrites will start in on 'should have watched the bugger'.. sheesh.. again not fond of kids but sometimes parents can't win.
I would be charged with assault because no one touches my kiddos without mine and their permission don’t mess with my kids or auntie bear is coming out.
@@emmyg In the mom's position, as much as you might want to take a swing at Karen in Story 1, remember that she and Malcom reportedly disappeared into the crowd as soon as mom noticed the harness went slack. No chance for reprisal. Afterwards, she would have been surrounded by security. Better to settle for harsh judgmental language and dirty looks.
I'm a 63 yo woman. And while I don't do comic books, I read a lot of different kids books. I also like several different animated movies. One of my all time favorites is Cars. My question for Karen is, who cares? How does it affect her in any way?
If you're into your kids books and kids movies, have you ever read The Velveteen Rabbit? Have you ever seen The Last Unicorn? They both made me cry. I tear up just thinking of them...
@@BeccaHetrick I've read the Velveteen Rabbit, never heard of the other one. I like LM Montgomery books. And I still read all my childhood books about horses. 😂
I went to sell comics and was asked if they were mine. Said, "They are now. My grandpa gave me them before he died. So I'm selling them because hospice care wasn't cheap." All 100% true. We went through them all and discussed the values, I decided on three of them to save to remember him by.
Story 2 - I really don’t understand why grown adults think it’s perfectly okay to steal other people’s medical equipments. I’m glad OP pressed charges against Karen cause she put OP’s life in danger.
Right? Or any personal property another person is holding. Even if OP was lying about the device, how does that lead to Karen deciding to just snatch it? 🙄
My 22yo is on the spectrum. People thought I was cruel for putting my kid on a harness with a leash when they were younger, she was a runner at the time. People bad talk and yell at me me (while their kids were running and screaming around the store). They'd say, "How dare you treat her like a dog." I replied, "I'm not treating her as a dog. But don't you put a dog on a leash to prevent them from getting lost, injured, taken, or killed. Am I such a horrible mother for not wanting anything like that to happen to my child?"
Story 1: I agree with Mom because every autistic person is different as someone who also has autism. Also Karen basically KIDNAPPING MALCOM and THEN ATTEMPED ASSAULT ON AN OFFICER, OH HECK NO!!!
I'm also autistic, but when I was a kid, I was extremely clingy, partially because I got disoriented so quickly and I could lose my parents in a crowd if I turned away for even a fraction of a second. I have friends who were runners, friends who were clingy, and friends who appeares "normal" in this regard who are all autistic. We all have unique presentations.
@@LilChuunosuke I’m 30 and autistic. And believe me when I say that large crowds are a nightmare for those of us on the spectrum. Because we’re more sensitive to lights and sounds, it’s incredibly easy for us to get disoriented and lost in large crowded areas. And it’s even worse for those who have lower functioning autism because they can’t communicate what’s bothering them as easily as someone with high functioning autism
@crimsonmaelstrom573 i had moderate to high support needs as a kid! I was semi-verbal and when i did speak, it was often vague, barely coherent, and hard to understand. If i got lost, i would not have the means to communicate with someone to ask for help beyond answering yes or no questions. I'm thankful at least that my support needs were just low enough that I recognized this danger and compensated for it by being clingy.
The fact that the whole family was banned from the Restaurant was shocking, I mean, Karen was the one who attacked OP. So why would the whole family be banned?
Actually in situations like that it isn't unusual to ban the entire group when one does something, ESPECIALLY if no one else is even trying to stop the person from behaving the way they are. The husband SHOULD have been pulling her back as soon as she got up close to the kid. The fact that he didn't indicated he either fully supports her actions, or is actually an abuse spouse@@JadenYukifan28
As someone with epilepsy I would have pressed charges. There are different types of seizures, not every one has grand mal now known as tonic-clonic seizures that people often think of when they hear the word 'seizure'.
Story 3: GOOD ON THAT KID!!!! I’m glad that kid has a good and strong moral compass that isn’t swayed by his own mother. I’m also happy that the kids’ dad was (and still is) on his son’s side!!!
My youngest daughter wasn't even autistic but she was EXTREMELY curious and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get her to understand that it was dangerous for her to walk away from me. She would see something interesting and run away without thinking. If I was speaking to someone or distracted for any reason she'd be gone within a second. She's grown now and has told me she was GLAD I chose to give her a the monkey backpack/leash. She was able to have a little independence but she was still safe because I knew exactly where she was regardless of what I was doing.
I guess I was also,a very curious child as I would wander away just, looking at things even before I entered kindergarten. Mom had a small harness type thing - nothung ,Ike an animal harness - please!!! It just kept me from wandering too far away! Anyway, I’m now almost 77 and I still wander away from friends, husband, etc. because I’m a curious person! I like to know how things work, what things are, look at interesting things, and the list, goes on!
Story 4: Not only is Mary unable to travel outside the US (until she pays off her contract), she could very well be flagged by her agency, which means she might not get new contracts. And nursing can be a small world. Agencies tend to communicate with one another. She burned a bridge. It might be the only bridge.
@@BeccaHetrick Some channels you do, and I'm not going to bother to remember which ones are set that way. The individual channel owners seem to have control over that, and if it's set the post gets accepted as far as you can tell, but no one else would ever see it.
@@BeccaHetrick YT is weird. They've warned me a couple of times about posts BUT THEN DON'T SHOW THE DAMNED POST IN QUESTION. Story 3 - I’m a woman in my late 30’s and I collect TMNT stuff and I still read comics (DC, Marvel, Manga) My brother is in his early 40’s and he still loves and collects Star Wars and Marvel stuff. There is NO age limit to what you love to do and collect, but if someone tried to sell all my TMNT stuff like that mom then I’m sueing them.
I've got thousands of dollars worth of anime I've collected over the last couple of decades. I've also never gotten rid of any of my video games or consols going back to the SNES. I would have a full on conniption if someone stole or threw my stuff away.
I hear that. My mom used one for my little sister, who was a toddler at the time, and we were worried she'd run off and get hurt or worse. They work like a charm
I used to think they were horrible until my best friend had her first child and she was a runner. One time going to the store with the two of them and I wised up quickly.
I had them for my children. The kids absolutely loved them, because it was the animal-backpack type. 🐶🐒🦁 Bonus: the leash gave them greater freedom than holding Mommy's hand. And there was MUCH less chance of slipping my grip and running off. It literally saved my son's life when he darted out into the crosswalk. I will ALWAYS vouch for kid leashes. Meanwhile, one lady famously chastised my husband for having one on our child... and lost track of her own daughter in the process. 🤣
I used to think they were cruel, but then I think of how upset I got when my cat got out of the house... I know pets and children are not the same thing, but obviously you love them both and you don't want to lose them.... It was just a silly association I made when I was like 20 and my cat chased a stray cat out the back door, but luckily she came back after I screamed her name...
Epilepsy is a very real disorder. My father has epilepsy and was diagnosed at age five. He takes his meds like clockwork three times a day. He hasn't had a seizure in about twenty years because of it.
My mom had grand Mal, ( had to spend 2 years changing meds when she went thru menopause) and petite ( like 50 daily) thoes are the ones where the sentence is interrupted and she continues as if nothing happened.
On the medical worker who skipped out. About thirty years ago I was in the Deep South and went into a convenience store to get a soda. A young man was telling the desk clerk about his vacation. He had went to the Caribbean and was surprised to find that it was all people of color, but that isn’t the word he used. Poor guy, his vacation ruined because he slept thru social class. Karma for a racist.
While I'm autistic, I was on a leash for a completely different reason. Cute little toddler me was on a leash, not because I was a runner, oh no, I knew to stay by my mama. But, my mom heard of the case over in the UK where a toddler was taken away from their mother by two older kids (tweens to teens?) and...unfortunately that toddle was unsubscribed from life. So, my mom didn't want that to happen to me. My great gran was against it and even said "Sage isn't a dog! Don't put her on a leash!" my mom stared her in the eyes "No, but at least my child is alive because of the leash!"
It's also good for parents that have multiple kids. After all what's the parents gonna do if say, they have 3 kids and they all take off in different directions..
My older sister was on a harness and leash when mom and dad took her on vacation to the Grand Canyon! It was a great idea! My sister still remembers, though! 😆😆😆🍹🎉💃💋👵🐺🌵
Same situation. I wasn't a runner, and didn't get diagnosed with autism at the age of 35. I was a little freaked when the psychiatrist dropped that bombshell on me.
@@SheriJohnson-w1c yeah, but I dunno if they're as big with the character photos. All the times I've been, I've rarely seen them walking around like in Disney, unless they were in shows.
I'm surprised that the manager didn't call the police when this happened. Why let that Karen walk out after what she did? Banning her later isn't quite enough.
If you're an epileptic then you know that you can't text or talk or walk while having a seizure... Even if you have an absent seizure, you have no clue that it's happening so you wouldn't be able to text anyone to tell them to come and get you. And don't you go to the hospital after you have a seizure? Who the fuck goes home and goes to sleep after having a seizure even if they are epileptic? Every epileptic person I've ever known goes to the hospital every time they have a seizure, they would never just go home and go to sleep... Sounds like she was just having an aura type of thing. Like what I get before I have a migraine. She had some warning or premonition that she could have a seizure in the near future, but she wasn't having a seizure while texting and walking and talking... Sorry, that doesn't happen...
I feel really sorry for the 37 year old son too though, I don't think his theiving Karen mom took his comics back to his house when she couldn't get them sold to OP. Probably just sold them to someone else less concerning or threw them away 😢
Story one... Why wasn't that Rabid Karen charged with attempted kidnapping!? She needs prisontime! 😮 Story two..... That Karen is guilty of aggravated assault! 😡
Story 2: I've seen a few times while working at you guessed it Wal-Mart. Each time an entitled karen steals the insulin pump so their hellspawn play with it. As in the story lie about what happened and thankfully gets arrested for their actions Story 5: A similar event happened at the Wal-Mart I worked at. A customer who had service dog for seizures, had a bad seizure while I was helping them. Managment was alerted to what happened. And an ambulance was call to care for the customer While blocking off the isle so they could get help. A Karen wanted to shop that isle. After being told what happen and why she had to wait. She flipped out, forced her way to down the isle to attack the that customer for making her wait to shop. She ended up attacking me, the customer, the service dog, both medics, three members of managment and a police offcer on scene. A lot of charges were given to the karen. She did end up severing 15 years of prison time for her rampage. Her excuse was she did not like being told she had to wait, the customer was faking a seizure for attention and service dogs should not be allowed any where.
I highly doubt that lady even has a grandson and was just trying to kidnap him i wouldn't be surprised or he could've been kidnapped if he ran past the wrong person
In the first story, when OP stated that he/she went "Backstage" for their break and that the Karen was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Dept., I immediately knew that OP worked for Disneyland or Walt Disney World. Even though the parks are in two different states, they both reside in Orange County.
Story 5: Did Karen wake up on the wrong side of the bed or something? Like, she literally had no respect or politeness to anyone at all. Not even to someone having a seizure
Story 1: Karen *didn't* get charged with child endangerment??? This would be a slam dunk. Attempted kidnapping might be harder to convict on, as it requires intent.
First story: kidnapping charge? My parents caught a lot of flak because my little brother had to be on a leash for a while. He was so fast, they could.not trust him to stay with them until he developed some reasoning skills and respect for traffic.
@@JuviaLockser12 I’m so glad that my parents (who were both born in the 50’s) were respectful of me and my sisters’ hobbies and wouldn’t get rid of something without our permission first
story 1 As someone who has stayed in an after day care and school I know kids like that exist, in primary school (5-12old) there was this kid that just constantly ran everywhere even in banned sections (luckily the gate was closed), if this was not bad enough he constantly tried to climb the fences and walls and nearly broke his head one time when he fell off mid climb if he wasn't caught by the teacher. There had to be a scheduled watch among the teachers and older more mature students (don't worry we were compensated with chocolate and pokemon cards) to keep an eye on him.
The last story hit me in the gut. My best friend was epileptic. He wouldn't have seizures at work (which is how we met) He would have them while asleep. In 2015, he had a seizure and never woke up.
The same people that mock someone for their hobby or what they collect, usually collects something 'immature' as well. Plenty of adults collect dolls, action figures, etc and that is the same thing..so is coin and stamp collecting, rock/mineral collecting. All started as young folks usually..and the same thing.
Story 3...my mom loves to tell me to grow up when I show any of my star wars...anything. For my last birthday my husband sent me a star wars purse (he's deployed) and I was so excited because it was the padme amidala one that I said in passing months before that I liked it. I showed my mom over video chat and she rolled her eyes and told me to grow up already. To that I always say "why it brings me joy and my inner child keeps the anxiety about my husband being deployed at bay." And besides life's too short to not have joy

I won't steal your trashy romance novels, you keep your hands off my X-Men (Age of Apocalypse, anyone?) I once threw out some of my son's CDs because they were bagged and I thought it was trash. I replaced every one of them.

Story 1: My nephew isn't autistic at all, but he was very active when he was a busy toddler. My sister used to attache him to her with a kind of leash whenever they were somewhere busy. My nephew got to run around safely, while other parents strapped their kid in a stroller where they couldn't move. Story 3: One of my coworkers was at a garage sale 20+ years ago, and bought a two boxes of Spider Man comics. They had been the now-grown child's comics, and the mother was selling them in a garage sale. They were worth thousands.
I'm on the Autism spectrum, too. I'm very high functioning. I couldn't imagine what it would be like for that kid in story 1 being separated from his parents in an unfamiliar place. With all the external stimuli at a place like a Florida theme park. It could be a bit much. Not to mention crazy Karen not helping.
My two younger kids used body harnesses at Disney and at the zoo. They were small. #2 climbed on a big goat one time at the zoo kids area. Goat wasn't phased by it, but I sure was! She also ran away at Disney to go visit some ducks. #3 ran away at the mall right when a kids movie let out, and it took a security guard to find her and return her to us. Pre-cell phone days, so no phone with pictures of the kid to prove parentage, but luckily she was the spitting image of my husband. She loved to bolt. Both of them were totally neurotypical, but little kids have no sense, and they bolt. They just do. People have no right to judge parents who are just trying to keep their children safe. That STUPID woman was guilty of endangering a minor child.
"Blah blah blah, you're too old to like this, blah blah!" I'm just imagining how many of these people lost their minds over things like Pokémon and the whole Brony phenomenon. 😅
Autism is technically "Autistic Spectrum Disorder", meaning that it affects people in many different ways. Myself, I was only diagnosed at 31 years old. I'm glad that Malcom recognized the photographer as a safe person that he could trust.
For a number of years (mid 80’) I would go to garage sales hunting for comic books. Sometimes this could be very profitable. Kids buying comics in the 60’s had, by that time, graduated college & moved away for work. Parents became fed up storing their adult children’s junk. The told the adult kids to get the their stuff or it would get tossed. One young adult asked the parents to mail his comic collection of several thousand issues. That didn’t fly. Sometimes I found some truly valuable comics. I would tell parents about comic book stores & to go there. Nearly always parents just told me to just buy the collection. I finally gave up the hobby as it was just taking up too much time.
I had a sister who was 8 years older than me. By the time I was in high school, she had young children. She decided that I was too old for them, so she took my hot wheels collection for her toddler son. My parents sided with her. When I had my own place, she went through my books and cleaned out my Dungeons & Dragons books and freaked out. She said that they were satanic. She said that she couldn't even visit a house with those books. I got the books back, and she hasn't set foot in my house since. It's been 35 years. Win-win.
My oldest sister is 14 years older than my youngest brother. He was 10 when she had her oldest son. She might have never watched her kids when we had family parties. Just left them for everyone else to deal with. But she never would've just taken our brother's toys or just stuff. That is just soo wrong!
I have early printing AD&D books and Plaintiff's Exhibit P--1 from the Steve Jackson Games vs. The Secret Service case. Anyone touching my collection without permission would pull back a stump.
First story: As an autistic individual, in larger parks, especially like Disney world, I HAD to have a leash and harness because one year I literally got lost because I closed my eyes and walked around. So, yeah, some kids need harnesses if they're a danger to themselves
Man the Karen's in story number 3 are idiots trying to sell a family member comic book collection without their knowledge or permission is great way to get you're ass disowned/ kicked out of the family and arrested because you were selling someone else property if I was the father or the son I would prefer to go full no contact and look into getting a restraining order
Story 1. I'm high function autistic myself, and it baffles me how many people just don't understand it. I've had people recoil from me as if they thought it's contagious, and I even had a disability services provider (of all people) to tell me to stop being autistic (!). Seriously? Comic story. I'm 54 next week and I read comics. Seizure story. I've had some (cardiac related in my case), and they are nasty. One even put me in the hospital, which is where I would have sent that stupid woman if I'd been in the father's shoes. Keep your hands to yourself, people!
Last story, id comment on the review something like, "this is the dad of the daughter you physically assaulted while having a seizure...thanks for making it easier to find you! Expect police!" You can still make a report, AND she will probably take down the review lol.
With story #1, I'm not a parent, but I've had a karen tell me once that it's impossible for me to be sarcastic as a person with autism. They started rambling about all of their experience with autistic people and how it's literally impossible. Me sitting here as a sarcastic autistic individual, I just couldn't believe that this person who claims to have so much experience with autism can't recognize just how different we all are. It's called a 'spectrum' for a reason.
I'm 67 and I read and collect comics, mostly Independent comics. For both these comic book thieves I would've called police. The first comic thief would've been arrested for damage to my store. The second comic book thief would've been arrested for breaking and entering to steal comics.
Last Story: Not only can Karen be arrested for assaulting a minor she can also get charge with hate crime as attack on someone with a disability count as hate crime.
Most people don't know that there are multiple different kinds of seizures. They think that the only kind of seizure is what is known as a Grand Mal seizure. It is the kind most often depicted in TV shows and stuff. The kind where someone falls to the floor and starts shaking violently. The OP was most likely having a Focal seizure and that is why they were able to call their Dad. Either way grabbing a person and shaking them is not a normal thing to do and people like that should be made to feel that their abnormal behavior is unacceptable.
Before I got the proper medication I would have both Grand Mal seizures as well as focal seizures. During a focal seizures I would be fully conscious but unable to see because my eyes would start rolling. It could last a few seconds to several minutes. I would be scared if someone came up to me and grabbed and shook me when I couldn't see.
*Story 5- I’m epileptic too,* but I have _complex partial seizures,_ that’s when you look like you’re daydreaming or staring into space, smack your lips, and don’t know what’s going on around you. (I describe it as my brain shuts off, but my body keeps going.) And afterwards you’re _really_ tired and I’ve taken naps up to 5 hours afterwards. I also developed Musicogenic epilepsy, and that’s when you hear specific sounds or music and it makes you have seizures… I’ve worked for my parent’s hardware store for a while. I was in the yard, in the nursery, had a seizure and walked in front of a tractor.
I had the same kind of seizures. I don't remember anything that happened during one. Auras and post-ictal can be fuzzy, too. I thank God regularly for the surgery that ended my epilepsy.
@@freethebirds3578 I’m glad you were able to get surgery! I’ve been having auras all day 😒 (lack of sleep last night…) and I can’t have surgery because the seizures are coming from both sides of my brain 😣 lucky me, I have me hubby to help me ❤️ *I love my hubby!!!* 🥰😘❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely! As I have written already! Parents today are erring on the opposite side of decent parenting! That’s why there seems to be a plethora of out-of-control children doing whatever they want, because parents just keep saying “well, they are just kids,”
Story 1: Autism comes in different forms. Karen needs to learn to keep her hands to herself. Story 3: You're never too old to enjoy comics, whether old and nostalgic or new.
I'm not a huge fan of leashing your child like a dog if they're generally behaving themselves, but for busy and/or potentially dangerous places like a Disney park (they called it "backstage" so i know for a fact it was disney) and a child that is slippery and tends to run wild, BY ALL MEANS use the kid leashes. It is genuinely safer for everyone in that case. Disney parks are usually extremely good about guest safety and accessibility but Ive seen my fair share of wild toddlers almost darting out in front of parade floats (there's a reason the parades are guarded by cast members on all sides, lol) Also um??? Last story??? What the hell did she thing shaking OP was going to prove? Even if she WAS faking a medical emergency, that is still physical assault for no goddamn reason??? I live with someone who has mild epileptic seizures all the time, it's not always visible and they're often conscious and able to communicate somewhat during... I have no idea if physically jostling an epileptic person who is currently seizing like that would make the seizure worse or not, but I feel like it probably would???
Story 3- 1st Karen doesn't realize that her kid was indeed old enough for those comics and 2nd Karen doesn't realize that a good majority of comics aren't for kids
That's just like the fact that I had to explain to my husband that NOT all "cartoons" (read anime) are for kids! Now I want to go get my comics out of storage & read some.....
1) So glad OP was there to comfort and care for this little boy when he needed it. It is so awful that ignorant, nasty woman intruded and did this. I'm so glad that she was arrested and will face consequences for her bad actions. 2) OMG, what a stupid/dangerous encounter. Good thing stores have tapes, and I'm so glad she was arrested and OP is filing charges against her. 3) Oh my, what a situation, and what a horrible parent. It's good the father wasn't awful. She should have been arrested for what she did in the store. 2nd story: Oh my gosh, a mother who went through her adult sons home and took his property because she did not approve of his collection. I hope he found out what she did and will go NC. 4) Nice to be gifted airline miles and be able to do more visiting. Mom was too nice to have anything to do with such a nasty/racist woman, but good for the company for holding her accountable for breaking the contract and owing them reimbursement for her lodging and that she is now suffering the consequences. 5) Sad for OP to suffer from seizures. Too bad to have to deal with an obnoxious, entitled, rude customer, but it's good there was a good manager who was concerned for OP. My though is, they should not just threaten, but do call the police and file assault on a minor charges.
Story 3, my parents don't understand my love for anime and manga. I actually have a growing collection of manga, anime DVDs, even figurines. A lot of the figurines were even gifts from family members including my sisters, bil and parents. I had told my mom that if it ever comes down to truly needing the money being medical needs, bills, funeral (all this includes my family's cats) I will actually sell my collection to help them out. My mom started crying when I told her that because she knows how attached I am to my collection and that just showed how much I care for my family. Plus how far I'll go to care for them. Parents like Karen wonder why their kids hate them and completely cut them off. Also I'm 28 and and I get annoyed when some people say that anime, comics and manga are just for kids.
@@crimsonmaelstrom573 thank you. I actually met a man that was 60 years old at a Japanese convention. He was cosplaying an awesome samurai and told me he still read manga and even watched anime plus supported his kids and grandkids that love it like he does. My parents were surprised when I told them that and they also realized that no matter how old you are, you can still love things like comics and anime.
Story three. Considering that well maintained old comics that someone who has probably been collecting for decades like the second Karen’s son (37) probably has. Can be worth thousands if not millions depending on the comic and its condition. That’s grounds for jail time for the theft and lawsuits that can bankrupt someone for whoever is unlucky enough to buy the stolen property.
My nephew was just like malcolm. We were at a restaurant and had my nephew contained in a child booster seat even though he was a little too old for it. The waitress thought she knew better and got him out of the booster seat. He started running wild and throwing things all over the place. I hope she learned her lesson when he trashed the place and she had to clean it up.
When I was 12 my mother took my comic book collection and baseball card collection without my knowledge and threw all of them in the garbage, saying :they're just junk,so who cares, you're too old for this stuff anyway. She had no conception of the value of anything she didn't like. She couldn't care less what I thought.I'm female, but I still loved them. I'm 61 but I never forgot what she did. Some would have been valuable.
The comic story annoyed to no end. I'm 31, and although I don't read comics per say, I read manga, watch anime and cartoons occasionally and play video games. it's because of my life motto: Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. Also, I can be rather vengeful so if anyone in my family sells my belongings without my permission, I will sell their stuff.
You went into your 37 year old sons house and took those comic books without permission. Someone is loosing spare key privileges at minimum. I’m not into comic books but anyone who says I’m too old to be reading fantasy or some foolishness is going to REGRET that speech.
Story 2 was crazy. If I were the cop I would have charged her not only assault or whatever he charged her with but tried to give him something like attempted murder or something like that. Her blood sugar could have gone up so high that she could go into a coma. My husband uses a pump and if someone grabbed his from his hand I would punch them even if I ended up in jail. I cannot stand entitled people. It is horrible that people think their wants are more important than your personal space and security.
The comic book story reminds me of an episode of Young Sheldon when Mary tried to get rid of every comic book in the house because it contained Doctor Manhattan who was depicted naked, and apparently she used hypocritical logic to make sure Sheldon couldn't read them, first by saying they are too adult for him to read and once he stated his intention to be treated as an adult, she said "Comics are for children, you're an adult!".
Back when I was about 16, I somehow got my hands on a copy of An Encyclopedia of Occultism by Lewis Spence, which is a book from 1925 and is often cited as a source on various Wikipedia pages regarding Occultism. When I first got it, I was terrified that my Christian grandma was gonna throw it out. Luckily, she doesn't visit nearly as much anymore and I still got it.
I feel for the people whose parents think they're too old for certain things. My oldest sister did the same to me when she gained custody of me when I was 12. Thank God when mom got me back and she did her best to reverse the damage that my oldest sister did
Story 3- this is a tough one. The mom is absolutely TA. BUT legally the kid is a minor and likely those books were bought by the parents. Legally I don’t know if the son/dad have a leg to stand on. Having said that I’m glad they got the stuff back
Story 5: If I was OP I would threaten to press charges unless the Keren changed her review. In the review she should admit what she did and admit that she is an AH who assaults children with disabilities.
My Mom kept me leashed when I was younger as she had MS and couldn't chase after me. She was able to discard the leash when I was old enough to understand and behave.
Even seeing the son when he occasionally visits his father is way more than Comic Karen deserves. If my mother had done that to me, she'd never be allowed in the same room as me for the rest of her existence.

@@fdm2155 I have no idea. It’s just entitled stupidity
"If you've met one person with autism, then you've met ONE person with autism."
I'm also autistic, but when I was a kid, I was extremely clingy, partially because I got disoriented so quickly and I could lose my parents in a crowd if I turned away for even a fraction of a second.

@@LilChuunosuke I’m 30 and autistic. And believe me when I say that large crowds are a nightmare for those of us on the spectrum. Because we’re more sensitive to lights and sounds, it’s incredibly easy for us to get disoriented and lost in large crowded areas.

@crimsonmaelstrom573 i had moderate to high support needs as a kid! I was semi-verbal and when i did speak, it was often vague, barely coherent, and hard to understand. If i got lost, i would not have the means to communicate with someone to ask for help beyond answering yes or no questions.

Expect police!"
You can still make a report, AND she will probably take down the review lol.
The second comic book thief would've been arrested for breaking and entering to steal comics.
the fact that the karen from story 1 thinks she knows better than Malcom's parents is a level of audacity that surpasses human understanding
Story#1 I expected Malcom to want OP to stay with his family the whole next day because it sounded like Malcolm bonded with OP.
I used to try and run away when I was a kid and my mom had to use a harness. It’s just safer sometimes.
I also developed Musicogenic epilepsy, and that’s when you hear specific sounds or music and it makes you have seizures…
I’ve worked for my parent’s hardware store for a while.
@@jaypritchett6846 Yes. My husband is an incredible blessing. I'll pray for you, that you find some relief.
Story one that Karen would've seen the moon without needing a rocket from me.
Even with a non-autistic child, a harness is safer than getting lost or running into traffic.
Disney parks are usually extremely good about guest safety and accessibility but Ive seen my fair share of wild toddlers almost darting out in front of parade floats (there's a reason the parades are guarded by cast members on all sides, lol)
Also um??? Last story??? What the hell did she thing shaking OP was going to prove? Even if she WAS faking a medical emergency, that is still physical assault for no goddamn reason??? I live with someone who has mild epileptic seizures all the time, it's not always visible and they're often conscious and able to communicate somewhat during... I have no idea if physically jostling an epileptic person who is currently seizing like that would make the seizure worse or not, but I feel like it probably would???
Hope she's charged with kidnapping
Story 3- 1st Karen doesn't realize that her kid was indeed old enough for those comics and 2nd Karen doesn't realize that a good majority of comics aren't for kids
That's just like the fact that I had to explain to my husband that NOT all "cartoons" (read anime) are for kids! Now I want to go get my comics out of storage & read some.....
@@wendymonkelien-brown579 Also, Vivziepop's Hellaverse series.
@@onepieceisking5493 I’m 30 and I feel the exact same way as you do
@@crimsonmaelstrom573 thank you.
Comic Book Story:
It is the LAW in the USA that children have the same right as adults when it comes to things like personal property.
Hi 40 year old here. Someone who is also disabled as well. I like comics and mangas. One of the escapes from my shit situation and reality.
I learned to knit when I was 8, my mom constantly got rid of my knitting needles saying I was too young to knit.
I'm just saying I just turned 35 and I watch Bluey the little kids cartoon cause it makes me happy. Just let everyone enjoy what makes them happy.
Fair dinkum for real life!
I feel for the people whose parents think they're too old for certain things. My oldest sister did the same to me when she gained custody of me when I was 12. Thank God when mom got me back and she did her best to reverse the damage that my oldest sister did
#3 I really can’t stand people like that “mom”. 😑
I had seizures when i was really little - havent had a "real one" as my doctors call it - only mini ones and a possible stroke seizure during college and no one noticed when class was going on - mind u it occured during class
Story 5: that Karen is lucky OP’s dad didn’t go Papa bear on her. There are some parents who would not hesitate to break an arm that’s harming their child
My friend had to wear one of those pumps during college
A Karen grabbing my daughter’s arm ….. she would be the one with a broken arm…
