It's funny how prices of everything have gone up except wages. Houses of 100k, in the past, are now going for 400k. Cars of 30k are now 120k. When do the rest of us get to enjoy cars like these, buy a nice house, and still pay our student loans? It's a mess.
Both are awesome, but if given the choice, the AEV 392 would be my pick...that is a beast and how cool would it be to show up at Jeep events with that vehicle. I have the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe and while it's far more practical for me due to my long commutes each day, I seriously would not mind having a 392, especially an AEV modified one.
Own a 392Xr and will most likely buy the wife a bronco raptor. My first experience with the raptor was its more comfortable driving, interior felt noticeable cheaper, and drove far more like a car. I think it will be perfect for my wife as she tends to run over curbs and objects at times. For me though it’s 392 just a more fun car to drive around town. To me the bronco felt nowhere near a 100k car. The Jeep I also believe is not worth the 90k they are now, but does have nicer materials on the inside. Prices have gotten insane and that raptor is a 70k vehicle max.
@@alexandersnow1963 maybe the most extreme rock crawling. But not with 37s. You’re needing to pour a lot of money to get there and it better be on 40s. Then you kill its ability to drive on the road and anything else though. That’s why the Raptor really stands tall. It can do anything the 392 can even on 37s and it can do the rest at speed. But sure I’ll give you the check with extreme rock crawling…
@@TheGreekbull Na, the Wrangler is way more nimble because it’s smaller. There are more trails that the raptor would struggle on, because of its size, that the 392 would smash through. Plus the solid front axle is better for off roading anyway. The 0-60 on the 392 is faster. You don’t need $40k to get it there. I’d get there for roughly $6, and the 392 can be had for $85k. Good luck finding a new raptor for less than $100k. Also, as an added bonus, the 392 will be MUCH more valuable in the future as a collectors car as V8s get phased out
@@alexandersnow1963 I’ll give you the collectibility. I’ll also give you the sound and nice factor of the 392. But in every other way the Braptor is superior and it might lose 0-60 if you ever drive them both on the highway you wouldn’t ever choose the 392. I’ve spent a lot of time behind the wheel of both of them.
Wow, 2 mall crawlers in one video! On one side we have the bronco with its weak IFS and on the other we have the wrangler with its weak clutch based transfer case.
Give me that 392 wrangler any day of the week over the Ford bronco raptor But it has to be this specific one with these specific upgrades. I don’t like the sound of V6. No matter what they do to the exhaust It’ll never sound like a V8!
How do you feel about the width of the Bronco Raptor as a daily driver? It won't fit into a lot of parking spaces in big cities and will be very tight in most 2-car home garages with another car. Most people buying a Bronco Raptor (or 392 Wrangler) will most likely use it for daily driving, with the occasional off-road adventure.
You don't really feel the width when you are driving, and it has 360deg cameras for parking and low speed maneuverability. It 'feels' smaller and way more easy to drive than my 7.3l ECSB f250.
Yeah I’d take the JL392 for long term. The Broncos 10speed transmission is really clunky and always looking for the right gear the jeeps 8speed is smooth and quiet and believe it or not I think the jeeps are better insulated and have less wind noise the broncos have huge gaps In the roof panels
Bronco Raptor wins on everything but the V8, which gives it better sound and speed. With that being said I will be getting a Bronco Raptor, same blue color but with the navy/ code orange interior.

I understand what Ben means about boring. Most modern vehicles are so good that you feel like you are riding in it instead of driving it. I traded my manual Bronco Badlands in for a Raptor and the lack of engagement is a big deal for me. I've had my Raptor for two days and I'm just getting to know it. However to get rid of boring just put it into sport mode, it goes from mundane to monster. I'm also a big V8 kind of guy and It would have been really cool if Ford had put their Godzilla engine in the Raptor.
A couple of comments. I just drove my Bronco Raptor across country from Long Island to Vegas and then to Moab. And back. I’ve never driven a wrangler, but of those that have, they are not good at highway speed. The BRaptor drives like a big car on highway. In fact, my wife was driving over 85 on I-70 without realizing it. Off road in Moab for a week, including Hell’s Revenge, Chicken Corners, Fins n Things and others, Braptor has way more capability than needed. I don’t rock crawl, so there’s that. But driving it over 6K miles, across country and back and wheeling for 7 days in between, I think the Bronco Raptor, and by all accounts of wrangler owners, is the best all around capable 4x4 ever built. IMHO. Love it, will drive it and wheel it for many years to come. Thanks Ben, for the side by side comparison!
I have a wrangler rubicon and I agree, for your raptor how was wind noise at highway speeds, can you have a regular conversation or listen to the radio at at 80mph ?, because i for sure cant in the wrangler, also how's the turning circle? because the wrangler has a tight tuning circle which is very handy both on the trails and in the city
I get about 18mpg in my Bronco Raptor. I've driven both and maybe I'm biased, but the Bronco just feels more premium, to me. Not to say that the Wrangler interior looks bad though, it doesn't.
Bronco all the way, although theyre honestly both quite nice in their own ways. I just prefer bronco styling, also i like sarge green the most on jeeps. Im personally a big fan of a solid traditional look, if i was able to id get the bronco in a heritage trim, or generally avoid black rims and go with a classic gloss black or red
I really appreciate having these cool variants - but I’m of the opinion that they are a solid $30k overpriced. For example - I have a 2022 Roush f150 - and people think it’s so cool - but let me be the first to tell you, it’s an absolute piece of trash - especially when you consider the cost vs value. These are no different.
Bronco Raptor gets my vote and I’ve spent lots of time in both the Wrangler Rubicon and the Bronco Raptor. The Wrangler just isn’t as comfortable at all for me compared to the Bronco.
Yeah... the wrangler has more power, better fuel economy, nice sound, the iconic jeep face, the most aftermarket support, more fun to drive... hell, it just needs a better roof top and that is it. Maybe it could even go for IFS and portals and it would be miles and miles ahead of the bronco. Jeep is jeep and ford is simply not up there anymore. The bronco could have a shot if it cane with the 5.0 coyote engine
@@alexandersnow1963Bronco will still be better. Steel body armor vs aluminum (unless you get the nigh-unobtainable AEV Stage 2 of which there are only 150), stronger diffs, and the same clearance. Jeep has more suspension flex up front, but the Bronco has vastly better damping and chassis bracing. Even on 3 wheels, the Bronco feels way more planted and controlled than the Jeep does.
$100K for these is why I just pay whatever it takes to keep my cars running. My 2011 Jag XJ Supercharged had a plastic coolant line behind the engine fail. At first I balked at the $2600 repair bill, but then I spent a week looking for something roughly equivalent to replace it and quickly realized $2600 is dirt cheap to keep a car with a 470-hp V8, leather seats and dash, 16-speaker Bowers & Wilkins THX sound, all digital dash with touch screen, heated and cooled rear seats, etc. You can't get all that for $100K today.
Both seem like awful daily drivers. The wind noise in the cabin is awful. I do like the exaust of the Jeep, but the steering is pretty tiring. I prefer a TRX or Raptor R. Nice quiet cabin, great exaust, and fantastic steering. They are both dreams to drive. Couldn’t imagine the two vehicles in this video being my daily and or only car.
Just give me 37 inch tires and an exhaust on the Jeep. And I'm taking that 1 all day long. Nothing sounds better than a V8

392 and it’s not even close.
They’re both awesome. For rarity the 392 with it going away. For off road performance and drivability I’ll take the Braptor all day though.
Give the 392 37s and the Jeep will run circles around the Raptor on any trail. Raptor does win in the dessert though.
