BEFORE YOU BUY!! With Manabox(and I assume other scanners), you must organize your entire collection by set and foil/non-foil. Then, go into scan settings, lock the set you're scanning, and "prefer foil" when scanning foils. Otherwise, reprints will pause scanning and prompt you for the set, and you'll have to go back through scanned cards and manually switch them to foil.
No way is this worth $300. If it included a scanner app subscription, sure, but besides being a consumer solution and having basically zero competition in the space this is such a basic machine. Why are there not two readout screens for the count and speed? Why is the screen a $1 lcd and not a $10 full COLOR option that give both count and speed? Their profit margins are HUGE on this I guarantee it. This is like $30 in parts at scale at most.
@ price would require some phone and app connection and integration. Should it be expected for $300? Yeah probably, $300 gets you a TON of tech now a days and this thing looks like something a person could 3d print and build from a $20 kit in a day.
I did buy the previous version at $200 and I wasn't offended by the price one but. It makes my work so much easier and more efficient. I completely understand you though, I personally don't have the time or expertise to make one. I would rather save time, get what I need for my business, and get my cards listed for sale
I found a 3d printed card sorter that I have to push the cards down a small slope into the tray and it coat me 30 bucks. No way would a feeding mechanism and a small digital screen would cost 270 more
Its like a 20$ arduino hooked inside of a 10$ 3d printed shell. the value is in what it does, not the price of the goods inside of it. What is the price you would pay not to have to scan in your bulk?
For a few hundred more I have an actual feed scanner that takes beautiful front and back scans of all my cards. Also anyone who has used TCG player scan feature knows you are lucky to get it to scan more than 70% of your cards. You also have to wait about a year after a new release before it will recognize your cards so you don’t have to enter them manually.
1:56 I don't know how I feel about having a card sorter that has "fangs" touch my valuable MTG cards. I feel like they could've gone with a different word. 😂😂😂
Okay. This is amazing. I sell on eBay and this is killer for me! Love it. I use manabox also. Great video. Thanks for showing the struggle 😂 so we can have an easier time setting up.
I just started my mana box journey 😅 It's pretty random rn but I will be organizing them once I go through my collection. The plan is to code them to match the boxes they're in.
I've been researching this for a hot minute. Short answer: yes. Long answer: Yes but they're INSANELY expensive. Like 3-5,000 dollars and they're pretty slow. It has 30-some spaces to drop cards in, which is no small feat.
Yeah, it think at 100, it would've made the company boatloads of cash. Possibly gotten more orders than they could've kept up with for a while. Haha. But at 300, oof... that's like maybe 50 bucks worth of parts and labor. :(
I got one and it’s disappointing. I wish the speed was adjustable. I also think it is cheaply made, 3D printed garbage. This version wasn’t available. Sad for the price.
For that money I expect this thing to communicate with the ManaBox app and just automatically pull the next card as soon as the previous one is scanned.
I don't know if I understand your question but I need this for several reasons. Firstly I list a lot of my cards for sale on several marketplaces so it's easier to track when prices change and keep an inventory. Secondly I have my personal collection I want to catalog so when I need a card I can search to see if I own it and where to find it, plus keep track of the value. Hope I answered 😅
@@Taalia_Vess Thanks for the answer. Yeah my question was how does the database look likes? Is this with foto and prices autmoatically? And is it accuret?

It's interesting how many people say this is overpriced then quote something ridiculous like $50. It's expensive because of all the development, design work, and assembly of electrical parts. Yes you probably could build one for less in parts, but time has value. You may be willing to value your time for less, but that doesn't mean the creator should. This is still leaps cheaper than any of the other available options. Would be interesting to see someone claiming this should be cheaper actually post a parts and labor cost breakdown to support their assumption.
Wait, what does this product even actually do? I could do the same thing by having my phone on a simple tripod and manually placing them down under it. That would cost way less than 300. AND there would be way less risk of cards getting damaged. This thing is a scam lol
This this is probably the dumbest thing i have seen. you can literally do this by hand 100x faster. 300$ for some plastic that moves the cards for you is silly. all the tech is on the phone. and you have to sit there and watch it regardless which defeats the purpose. you would need like 50 of these for it to be effective but then you would need 50 phones.

The only stubborn thing that I run into with ManaBox is that when scanning cards the app will mistake a card from another set..
Hmmm that is annoying. Which app do you prefer? I haven't seen it do that much
