The reason I decided to put the deposit down was all of the convenance features. Yes there are more powerful fiber lasers, but the comparison to Apple is spot on. You're paying for the fit and finish, and the nice to have features that are going to make the user experience smoother. Sometimes you want Android because you can tinker and see what you can do. Sometimes you want Apple because it will just work. It may not work exactly the way you want it to, but it's going to work. Do you want to tinker, or do you want to make stuff? If you want to tinker, that's fine. I've built all of my own computers for a decade because I enjoy the process and picking out exactly what I want, but you have to know what your goals are going in. I'm a leatherworker. I like what I'm seeing in the F1 Ultra because it has a big enough work area to cut leather parts for pocket items like wallets, notebook covers, belt pouches, but it can also engrave hardware like the heads of snaps, chunkier zipper pulls, and D-rings.
It’s pretty clear all of the reviewers that received the ultra to review were bound not to physically provide a review until a set date. All the reviewers state the same similar thing. ‘I’ll test this in the coming weeks “ or “in my next video I can’t wait to get using this”. What maker, laser nut, general interest influencer would not immediately not stay up all night and produce even a rudimentary initial use video. They are all under some restriction. Ok. I’m not bashing any of the reviewers. Really. I’m not. I just think it should be clear that there is a reason xtools put this restriction in place. Either they fear a let down on the hype or this is simply the hype mechanism or something else. It should just be obvious that there is a play here.
I agree and I sent questions to XTool and said this type of campaign really isn’t the best. I was ready to pull the trigger but I’m not spending that kind of money without seeing it actually function. I even asked XTool when the information will be released the only answer I get is “you will have to wait for for the live event”. When is the the live event? “Not long”. What I wish they will do is allow these creators to show the unit functionality and then have a restriction of when it will be released (ie it will be announced at the live event on X date) this type of campaign pisses me off more than makes me want it.
@@kevinrich4637for me its exactly the same! this makes me question even more if that is just a hype and that product may be not as good as they say 🤷♂️🤷♂️
F1 ultra looks promising. Very high price point just to buy the unit. Extra would be the smoke purification and the belt plus taxes. It definitely looks like a work horse that needs to be worked!
Great point! I keep looking for an actual hands on run and can't find one anywhere! It is asking a lot to put money down on something that hasn't even been shown running. It really is a turn off.
Regarding the fiber power... i for sure think it was a missed opportunity going with 20w... especially because the 30...50...and 60w+ machines can be operated at a lower power if need be. Had this been a 50w machine... it would be a hands down no brianer. Great video as always brother!
@CorneliusCreations I would hope it workshop be astronomically more. To be finest is expect that to be more what their "original price" on this laser is... maybe slightly higher. That's just me
Translation, either right after the deposit period ends or maybe a day before for a last push for deposits. I'm not bashing XTool or anyone who is part of the review program, those are just the logical options.
I havent seen much that shows X-tool is interested in business customers. Everything they spit out every day is aimed towards crafting hobbyists. They want to sell volume, not high dollar units to a few business customers. And the coupon feels like just a trick to get seed money, and then the price will quite quickly be dropped down to the initial discounted price. China businesses are laced with VIP programs that get you to pay up front for what will ultimately be no discount over normal prices, but it gets the money in their hands quickly. Every store and restaurant in China does this all the time. Anyways, the proof will be in the pudding. Well see. Apple, Android. Too divisive. People strongly love and hate both for different reasons. I immediately thought, oh like apple, so they will reduce battery life to get sales, put out a new item that makes your obsolete every 8 months, etc. That sort of thing. No one wants to drop $3k+ and have something better replace it in 1 year, or drop support of it because it doesn't jive with their new software version.

Very well put! I appreciate your comment giving me your thought process on why you are buying. I know it is super hard without seeing reviews yet.

You always do a great job on your videos bro. Keep up the great job :)
Thank you for the kind words, Kevin!
@@CorneliusCreations you bet Cornelius
Your excitement shows for sure!
You have no idea haha
@@CorneliusCreations I'm a little excited too. Those challenge coins look sweet!
Yes they do!
Have you tried to engrave on any rings? If so how did it come out? Thank you.
I sure have, you can see it in my official reviews (you can also see it in my F1 review)
how strong does the laser smell and how good is the extraction of the smoke cloud
It is possible to use it as a portable machine for events? Looks way bigger than the old one.
Can it engrave steel on knives or firearms to .005 - .008 ? Thank you for making this and all of your other videos!
I can’t accurately say yet on firearm steel, but I’m sure it will be very good. I will let you know in my review! Thank you for the kind words!
@@CorneliusCreations Thank you for the response and I'll look forward to your review.
Sure sounds like it's going to be a completely unbiased review :D
Hahaha, I promise it will be. I’m just naturally enthusiastic 😁
do you think it can dig into stone?

I appreciate your valuable input my friend! I wonder how much more the machine be if it were let say being a 50W?

Do you know what the cost of the conveyor belt system will be on top of the F1? Ultra.
I have no idea :( We will find out in a few days though!
Do you know if/how the XCS ‘curve process’ mode ‘curve-measure’ works with the F1 Ultra?
Not yet, but I will have it in my review… I am SO excited for it!
Its cool but 3,800 is alot for it id say 3,000 is good
Should I just buy the Roly? 😂
Do we even know if it’s a true Fiber laser or just a glorified 20W IR? XTool refuses to answer that question.
Of course it‘s Fiber laser Xtool has announce
I know you are not allowed to show anything yet from your testing but when can we expect to see some of it?
Towards the end of the month :)
