Brass is also anti-microbial. The metal forms a microscopic patina (anytime you touch it) and the chemical reaction offs bacteria 🦠. Fun fact: that’s why hospitals in the 1940s-1970s used brass door handles.
I have quite a few knives in D2 (no German K110 yet tho) and I can say 100% that QSP did the best job. From the grind to the edge, they did fantastic work. The logo bleeds into the grind a little bit no biggy. I got black micarta and I rarely use it cause I dig it so much. I’m going to get a natural G10 Penguin to EDC and keep this one as a home only blade.
Wasn't sure what you were talking about so I rewatched the video. Assuming you were referring to the pivot screw. The pivot is gloss black and shiny. It was reflecting the lighting I was using for the video, which just happened to look like exposed bearings lol. The Penguin runs on phosphor bronze washers. It did look weird though!
I'll never quite understand the"every oz counts" guys. I've never carried a knife and ended the day limping from the weight 😂 my phone weighs more then almost any knife you can carry and no one complains about that

Love brass scales on a knife...feels great in hand.
The ring light makes the pivot screws look hollow, good review
I thought it had no pivots for a second there
Good content bud, I enjoyed your insight, so you now have a new subscriber!!! I look forward to more of your knife 🔪 videos 📹

Great review! I’m not sure what they are called but I think the pins at the top of the penguin are missing. You can see the bearings inside of it.

I thought the same thing at first! That reflection was messing with my brain!
it is the ring light took me more than a bit to figure out what was going on
I thought the pivot screw was missing too.. I was so confused..
Haha I came to say the same thing. That's a crazy optical illusion!
Just ordered the copper one after this review. Thank
ah man i got the qsp penguin in blue denim with a s35vn blade this makes me want to buy the brass handle one now and swap the blades
It's an awesome knife, especially for the price. Wouldn't mind getting me the blue denim micarta one that you have!
Awesome review buddy.
Thanks bud. Have watched a couple of your videos. A+. I would love to get more into bushcrafting, if I could ever find the time lol.
@@everydayknives496 thank you,, I think we all have more things we would like to do or get more into than we do time. Glad you liked my channel.
Why does the pivot screws on both sides look different from current model.
Ring light.
