The 6 speeds in the Holden and Ford are crap in comparison

I don't doubt that but in Australia, the heat gets extreme and most of the time a car has to travel longer distances over un kept roads so it would be harder on a road car. Many of our harsh places are where an ATV or SUV comes in.

I love this review - I didn't realize that Australians were our brother from another mother... power hungry muscle car loving psychopaths! The exhaust on the SS is sinister... love it
US and Australia similar ?Joking arent you? Whilst your forefathers kick out the British our clowns here still fly the Union Jack in the corner. Hardly similiar
The Chevy SS is the Australian built SS Commodore. Its been imported to America and Re-Badged as a Chev. & yeah We love our Muscle cars as much as you guys over there. All 3 of these cars are the Bomb!
Shows how gullible many of the folks are down under in believing GM (Holden) is an Australian car. A great marketing ploy by GM. Nevertheless numerous components and the final assemble was completed in Australia. But thanks to moronic policies of a previous LNP govt the cars are no longer produced here. Unfortunately, the political "leadership" amongst the LNP isnt graet.
That Holden grunt sound you can’t beat it honestly, I am biased and I admit it I am a Holden man myself I have the LS2 big Cam and other fun add ons, blows the Mustang away I have never been a fan of the Mustang even as a kid!!! Bring back Holden
Well they don’t make this commodore anymore and haven’t for a while. And the Opel Commodore that replaced it basically killed the Commodore altogether as no one liked it. And as for Mustangs I see a lot more of them a round than the Chrysler or the Opel Commodore. So yeah the Mustangs actually doing the best as there’s no more Commodores and you don’t see nearly as many of the Chrysler on the road as Mustangs.

the ford mustang competes with the chevy camaro and the dodge charger here in the states, i have good memories of the commodore whilst in Australia, i love riding these cars in the states "freely" away from cop action
Only in a straight line. Mopar can build an engine just not a chassis. That is to bad because they do make great horsepower. Just gotta be able to plant it to be better
The most powerful V8 on the market today?, don't think so , why are you guys so biased with the SSV, it's a great car but HSV gen F R8 wins hands down and I find it very interesting that you didn't include a clubsport , rest my case
Srt buries them in build and quality. Interior, it just destroys them and they tested a core here not the real deal the dampening suspension. Srt all the way!
+M Coop The 5.6 second 0-100 kmh time was measured by the magazine, the 0-60 mph time might be what is claimed by Ford. I agree that 3 kmh difference between 60 mph (97 kmh) and 100 kmh should only be a few tenths of a second and not 0.8 - 1.2 seconds difference.
Btw anyone watching this, this is actuslly just a review on the car not everything about it. They are not car journalists like mst watson but rather ones that drive the cars and just tell you how it drives not mention any specific specs on the car as safety or fuel consumption. But for me the commodore is the og muscle car and will be loved
I honestly don't understand why people are so drawn to spending big $$$ on a supercharged v8 engine or the type who spend thousands modding their lancer evo or Subaru wrx sti ect. Unless you are an illegal street racer or you take your car to the track I would say at least once every 2 months you can get heaps of power out of an sv6 xr6 aurion sportive and other cars of the like. I have a 2016 sv6 and am well aware it would get flogged by heaps of other cars out there but realistically speaking I don't even have to put my foot down or get the engine above 3500 rpm before I'm over the speed limit.
if i had to choose between the 3 it would be the chrysler. everybody had got a commodore or a mustang and turns out the mustang isn’t really all that powerful anyway.
@@wazza2222 I'm saying its stupid thing to bring up, These are all muscle cars, the only pony cars are the v6 models which are below 60 Thousand dollars. In truth, people only want to bring up pony cars to try sound special about this term. You just make yourself look like an idiot crying about what else a muscle car can be classified as.
I feel sad about falcon and commodore leaving Australia, but lets moving forward. Australia definitely need muscle V10 cars to hit our wonderful roads. bring more American boys over, the Z28, Shelby 350 GT and the insane hellcats.
The Z28 is the powerful camaro, the ZL1 is the track camaro. BTW, can you guys import older Mustangs? Fox Bodies and SN95s are popular project cars here, and have a really big after market.
Found it a bit weird they only got 5.6 seconds 0-100 out of the mustang since it’s advertised at reaching those speeds in 4.8 and even with my old man’s manual managed to get 4.7 That nearly a whole entire second slower compared to what these boys got. Bad driving? Just thought that was worth mentioning. By the way the FM Mustang 6 speed autos are terrible definitely stick to a manual or get the FN Mustang with the 10 speed
I would like to get a Mustang but 2 things hold me back, 1 I'd feel like a sell out for going along with them killing the Australian car industry and then supporting the competition 2 when I look at those 0_100 times and they're no quicker than my Aussie made 10 year old G6E Turbo
Own a 2016 SSV Red line, and although it is a great car, the biggest disappointment is Holden NEVER fixed the rear seat vibration issue if you have the windows down. Not in any model, make or series.....if you have the windows down, you get a migraine. Very disappointing as they spent billions in design over 4 decades and couldn't fix it. Plus the sunroof has no wind buffer and is starting to move the roof lining when open. Very disappointing indeed.
I thought this was a good comparison stop complaining, just because you have a sedan you wouldn't 5ey t9 beat a Mustang because of that? I know I would
Why does he say to take the Holden because of availability? The Mustang is sold out and Holden can't sell enough Commodores to keep their factories open. Taking the Mustang seems like a pretty easy decision to me, and I've always preferred Holden over Ford. But the Mustang is damn awesome and looks a lot better than the Commodore too.
Terrible vs... Starts off well and doesn't give us what a winner... I haven't drove the car. You have! So give me your opinion. I already knew i had to wait for the mustang!!! I wanted you to tell me now, which was the better... Oh dear !
HSV tuned the LS3 to at least 317kw and up to 340kw for the SV range. Holden could only managed 304kw? Why don't Holden just unleash the full power of the LS3? After all, this is their last ever SSV so who cares about fuel economy.
Ben Chesterman yeah well that's the bullshit, Holden and HSV is too separate companies and yet Holden despite the potential of its V8 it can't unleash it all. HSVs are overpriced anyway.
Not a fan of the SRT I drove one they really do suck at turning and city driving guzzles more fuel then the Holden and Mustang and the mustang sways side to side at high speeds it starts swaying about 180-210 kph between there but the Holden is perfect and the ford falcon the car cant be fairly compared it has not evolved since the FG its still the same with some differences

18% to 54% tax on cars in Australia aswell
holden will always be more iconic than the others in this country at least
Weight matters too. Maybe include it next time.
Where was this filmed?
just search any forest or mountain area. Also you wouldnt want to go their you will feel like vomiting going around on those roads.
Rather a falcon over a mustang speshly the xr6t
the ford mustang competes with the chevy camaro and the dodge charger here in the states, i have good memories of the commodore whilst in Australia, i love riding these cars in the states "freely" away from cop action
MOPAR OR NO CAR !!
meh I rather a xr8 who cares about corners in a muscle car get a Sports car if you want fast cornering
The chrysler is the only one that gets my respect. Its actually faster than a stock xr6turbo, the other 2 would get pumped by one
Never heard build quality and Chrysler in the same sentence
5.6 second 0-100km? Over here it's 4.4 - 4.8. What's the difference?
+M Coop Unless...I'm getting my math wrong, which is possible. Damn metric system haha.
60 mph , will take a few tenths off the time
60 mph is 97 km
Ben Chesterman
yeah but I don't see a 3 km difference adding an entire second or more.
How much did you guys get paid from holden?
Lmao
Bias much ??????
wow the cabin is very loud on the Mustang compared to the others
"Hang it out and have a play with it & It really enjoys it" HAHAH
I do things out of spite bro that's so cool
if i had to choose between the 3 it would be the chrysler. everybody had got a commodore or a mustang and turns out the mustang isn’t really all that powerful anyway.
Srt8 shits over lsa clubsport aswell
It really doesn't.
The mustang had IRS back in 2003 with the cobra.
A battle between Ford, GM and Chrysler. So the Australian assembled American car takes the crown.
Try HSV GTSR VS FORD MUSTANG
Lazy lightweight review by a boy too young to know the difference between a pony car and a muscle car.
what the hell are you on about? Those are all Muscle cars.
@@StreetDrilla if you don’t know the difference, you are a part of the problem.
@@StreetDrilla a V6 pony car huh? I think that says it all. Millennial
@@wazza2222 are you saying v6 cars cant be pony cars? You cant respond properly at all.
I feel sad about falcon and commodore leaving Australia, but lets moving forward. Australia definitely need muscle V10 cars to hit our wonderful roads. bring more American boys over, the Z28, Shelby 350 GT and the insane hellcats.
+Feng Zhang (OZ LOL) I mean V8, LOL
The Z28 is the powerful camaro, the ZL1 is the track camaro. BTW, can you guys import older Mustangs? Fox Bodies and SN95s are popular project cars here, and have a really big after market.
LS3?
comaring a 2 door mustang to a 4 door falcon incomparable and such a shame they wont exist
Stang doesn't count missing a set of doors!!!
You got it
Srt best
ill take the mustang
We want a track battle
Found it a bit weird they only got 5.6 seconds 0-100 out of the mustang since it’s advertised at reaching those speeds in 4.8 and even with my old man’s manual managed to get 4.7 That nearly a whole entire second slower compared to what these boys got.
Bad driving? Just thought that was worth mentioning.
By the way the FM Mustang 6 speed autos are terrible definitely stick to a manual or get the FN Mustang with the 10 speed
From what I have gathered the Mustang has been a grey market import over there for years...they just cost a fortune.
Challenger scat pack and BMW m4
Nrvous 30- yes, yes, and YES
Chevy is killing off the Holden brand?
I would like to get a Mustang but 2 things hold me back, 1 I'd feel like a sell out for going along with them killing the Australian car industry and then supporting the competition
2 when I look at those 0_100 times and they're no quicker than my Aussie made 10 year old G6E Turbo
The political parties killed the auto industry with the Lima declaration.
Yeah nah, I'll take the FGX XR8 manual everyday
You can’t just replace our Aussie cars with American cars
And the best mustangs are the 2000 svt cobra R and the 03/04 terminator cobra
Own a 2016 SSV Red line, and although it is a great car, the biggest disappointment is Holden NEVER fixed the rear seat vibration issue if you have the windows down. Not in any model, make or series.....if you have the windows down, you get a migraine.
Very disappointing as they spent billions in design over 4 decades and couldn't fix it.
Plus the sunroof has no wind buffer and is starting to move the roof lining when open.
Very disappointing indeed.
That is not just on this car. Most of the ones I own do this. Roll a front one down and this stops it
Holden made in Australia, but has American engine.
Not made in Australia, it is assembled in Australia and come on they are an Opel for shit sake rebadged with engine and suspension changes
God the mustang sounds good!! But the SSV though is just so awesome sounding!! Beats the mustang in my opinion
Why buy a car with a performance engine with a slush box stuck behind it sapping the soul out of it? I'd rather drive a manual base model Ford Focus.
Oh dear !
Mustang
HSV tuned the LS3 to at least 317kw and up to 340kw for the SV range. Holden could only managed 304kw? Why don't Holden just unleash the full power of the LS3? After all, this is their last ever SSV so who cares about fuel economy.
The chev ss has same output 304 kW
+Ben Chesterman Holden is shevy
Because it can't have more power than a standard clubsport
Ben Chesterman yeah well that's the bullshit, Holden and HSV is too separate companies and yet Holden despite the potential of its V8 it can't unleash it all. HSVs are overpriced anyway.
+Ben Chesterman it's the same car both Aussie
The winner of this comparison has already been decided by the public. The Mustang is back ordered for a year.
couldn't wait for the falcon sprint ;)
Not a fan of the SRT I drove one they really do suck at turning and city driving guzzles more fuel then the Holden and Mustang and the mustang sways side to side at high speeds it starts swaying about 180-210 kph between there but the Holden is perfect and the ford falcon the car cant be fairly compared it has not evolved since the FG its still the same with some differences
I live in Australia and i hate that everyone drives Fucking Automatic here!
they can't drive Manual for shit! :0
Ford Mustang v glorified taxi. Hmmm... Which one would most people consider more desirable?
