      Larry Punter this is TH-cam, if you have something else it is mandatory to make disparaging comments about this car, please try to be less reasonable and more aggressive in future.

    • @B0SS330
      @B0SS330 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Larry Punter it's well equipped but also well overpriced. The GT-F was $77,990 when it was released, just imagine how good it would have been if FPV charged it's customers $150,000 ?...
      The new E63 S AMG will murder this car...

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Murat Harman the ironic thing is plenty of people did pay 150k+ to secure a
      GT-F, for the car that was supposed to retail for far less.

    • @B0SS330
      @B0SS330 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +R Soul that's true... but I think the GT-F could have been a better equipped car if FPV had a bigger budget.
      Using the 5.8L 493kW "Trinity" motor from the GT500 with a proper suspension/tyre setup would have made the last GT something really special...

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Murat Harman Ford Australia had a budget of about $3.84 when they developed that car, I totally agree that something more special would have been really nice, but an all new engine would have blown their development costs to smithereens. The poor old Falcon and its marketing was allowed to wither on the vine for many years before it was finally mercifully killed off.

    People here don't understand value! To say it is overpriced would mean that they couldn't sell them. The fact that they sold out so fast would indicate they were underpriced. Pricing is based on supply and demand not 0-100 times.

    • @tareskisloki8579

      It sold out because of opportunists, people that saw a limited run end of the line model, and snapped it up with the specific intention of flipping it for a profit. When production ceased, they all started showing up for sale well above list price from both dealers and private buyers. We're now into the second half of 2018 and one car site I use has twelve W1's for sale with delivery kilometres, between $220k and $300k.

    I hear a lot of ford falcon whingers on every w1 video.the falcon had zero export market with good reason. The fg was a fitting end to ford Australia's feeble attempts to compete with the commodore. The au falcon nearly sent them broke with its hideous styling ??? Eb ed El ef s all blew head gaskets and cost a fortune in warranty claims. The boss motors were a breathless boat anchor and not even ford fans that I know go within 10 kilometres of them. And the gtf is not even in the same universe as a w1. Fords tight arse philosophy is legendary. Sticking to leaf springs for YEARS to save money using the same tailgate pressing on the last ford Utes that they used 10 years previous, finally using twin spot calipers only because holden had used them for several models while the press were crying that the Falcons brakes were marginal. And the list goes on and on. It was always going to be that Holden built the last real muscle car while ford sent an fg six cylinder ute down the line and went out with a whimper. They gave up long ago even trying to build ANYTHING with any real presence or street cred.

      Ford Australia’s tiny budget for Falcon design > GM sending every single Commodore design from Europe until what, the VE?
      At least the Falcons died with dignity and didn’t get their name out on an unfitting POS Opel Insignia.
      Sure Boss engines aren’t the best known engines, but there is history there, Boss engines go a fair way back. Holden only imported LSs because they couldn’t beat a straight six N/A with their V8s.
      Imagine the shame in the chief engineers voice at HSV every time he called the GM guys asking for a bigger V8 because they couldn’t beat a taxi engine.

      Maxx Damage 6:04 What are u smoking? He said there generation will look back on this as something special. Hahahaha yeah right. The Holden boys have always thought they’ve been better in most areas. Sure there better if ur biased and loopy, but in reality no. I’m 16 mate and sure as hell I want an XR6 Sprint in the future and I’m somewhat apart of that generation. A GTSR W1 just lacks something like the XR6 Sprint. Oh yeah it’s been the demand over the years. Sure people are advertising GTSR W1s for a very high price but those people are delusional boomers who think they can make a quick buck by sticking it in a garage and saying it’s worth more because it hasn’t done any Kms. Lol. Pretty much every W1 owner is doing that. That doesn’t give it a rich history compared to the Fords where there out and about. If anything people would probably try to find a W1 that’s run in because that would be rarer. Lmao. W1s are just a modern EB / EL GT. Then try and find an XR6 Sprint with Kms less than 10 thousand that’s goes for a under 55 grand. It’s impossible because a lot have done many Kms. The Barra has become a motor everyone wants because it’s so unique despite it having less power from the factory as the pushrod princesses over in the Bommodore wing. Plus Barras aren’t being made anymore and Falcons just felt more Australian in the end. That’s why there getting up there in price recently. But with that said the motor in the W1 can just be found in a regular Corvette or Camaro. There a dyme-a-duzin. Sure the W1 is still a good car but it’s kinda overrated. Everyone loves an underdog aka the XR6 Sprint. Let’s also not forget now that the XR6 Sprint holds the title for the most powerful production inline 6 motor to be ever made in the world. GT-HO worthy right there that everyone glimpses over. Whilst the W1.... holds nothing except for it being the most powerful Australian car. But yet I’m suspicious of that because Holden never really gave a honest power figure. They just lied. Wouldn’t be surprised if it made only 340 RWKW. Lol. Oh and I’m not that gullible to believe what the magazine reviewers have said because it’s literally paid to come out of there mouths whilst Ford never really paid them and thats why they were so negative about them. It’s just so obvious. I even showed my mate whose not a car person a review of an FG X Falcon where they were negative about the car and then from which I showed him a Commodore review and he instantly picked up on it. He said “u can tell it’s deliberate. It’s like they didn’t won’t to be there for the Falcon one.” His words not mine. I’ve even heard stories on Holden websites in which people did honest reviews and Holden forced them to take it down because they didn’t want them to ruin there reputation.

    Such an amazing car!! Its faster around a TRACK than the euro counterparts (amg, m3, m5, alfa) etc. Beats them down the 1/4 mile, looks and sounds freaking amazing! The brakes are bigger than Bugatti Veyron, and comes with a forged, dry sump motor all from factory with WARRANTY... You cant compare this to some "spend $20k on this shitbox and it will beat it".
    Amazing job HSV, should be very proud.

Like anything its all GM in the states based anyway look at the NEW Cadiliac CTS
      V same running gear, so parts is not the problem, its the body parts you will have an issue with and the new Cadillac has more power again close to 1,000HP ?

    • @7071t6
      @7071t6 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your stuffed because the spare parts would have to come via the USA and also most of the parts HSV would have some spares, but it all depends on how many of the cars end up smashing while on the roads if any. so think about it basically HSV mad a car which cant be driven simply because for every KM driven your going to lose $$, but still i have seen people who have brought the car and then on selling it for over 70K more to make a profit at auction because the general public did not have the chance to buy one, with the exception of the one at auction?

    As a performance car - rationally speaking, every year it shows it’s age. But no one is here for the rational purchase of a performance vehicle. It would be interesting if this could steal the “slowest most powerful car award” from the other Australian invention - the Mustang R-Spec. If you can find a more powerful car that is slower 0-100 or across the quarter in a street setting - let me know.

    I'm from Australia beast af engine but Australian's got an issue for the price the interior is legit trash a car from the euro above 60-70k had a better inside.
    And hence why the company went under its stupidly overpriced for a car built in our country.
    Also the ecu tune software hardware is lagging by at least 5 years people tend to buy and send it to a tuner to remap legit it's total trash cause after a tune the car turns godlike - Australia has potential but wasted it.

      Ford au have the engineering know how to build their own motor with less cylinders, less displacement which is capable of just as much power as an LS. Buy an XR6t and do some work to make 640 whp for far less than it would cost to purchase this pos. I don't understand holden fanboys, the only thing to admire in them is the engines which are Chev engines anyways, may as well go and froth over corvettes and camaros.
