This is the real way to help save the Planet, a classic case of re cycling, this Focus, if well maintained has got years of useful life ahead of it. For the many motorists out there, who simply can't afford new car prices, (and let's be honest, that's quite a lot of us) this really must be the way to go. Only snag is you've got to find a dealer, who puts as much effort into preparing his stock, as Johnny Boy does. Trust me, they are thin on the ground. Keep up the good work, there so many You Tubers out there who wouldn't which end of a wash cloth to use, never mind a spanner (wrench to the rest of the World) You so deserve to succeed.
I drive a 2005 Renault Kangoo with 158,000 miles with full service history. She drives like new i maintain her every year. Never lets me down. Because she's like a van but a MPV tons of space with sliding doors. I hate modern cars especially these EV's can't stand them.
There's no such thing as "saving the planet" in terms of how something is used and discarded. However I agree that getting more value from a product that would have otherwise gone to waste is a win-win for anyone involved, especially while there are shortages of the new products--like cars are currently.
Wishing you every success with your channel - I love content like this that focuses on returning supposedly end-of-life motors back to excellent condition ready to give many more years of service. I also like the fact that you’re clearly a grafter, I find the effort you put in to the cars and the channel pretty inspiring. Keep it up!
Fantastic work and the car is transformed. Luckily you do the work yourself and that saves money if you do it in your spare time. But that did look like a decent amount of time needed to bring it back. Great to see it done though. Would make a great car for someone.
It was an amount of work, but what is worth doing that doesn’t take some effort! The Focus sold to a really decent guy who I am confident will cherish the car moving forward and allow it many more years on the road!
I think it is sad, that the Ford focus gets the title of a cheap throw away car, i own a 2008 Ford Focus 2 door coupe Se and i bought it brand new and it is my dream car, and i still own it to this day. It has always been reliable, fun to drive and sort of sporty in it's own way, i think it is awesome that you are giving that Focus some well deserved love!!!
I wish the we could just keep our cars , instead of being forced to sell and buy something newer to keep up with the legalised robbery this country is putting on the normal people. Nice one Johnny an awesome save from the scrap yard , a perfect little useable car that’s more eco than building a new one. Your attention to detail is second to none mate. 👏👌👍🏻
Really chuffed you got a very good price for the car Johnny. Already said before how impressed I was with how this turned out. Inspiring too as I have a 56-reg Golf GT I really need to get back on the road. I doubt I'll match your work quality but if I can get it looking half as good as this I will be happy. Look forward to the next cheaper than scrap MG vlogs & how that comes out too. All the best 👍🏻
Well done again on such an amazing job! I'd be quite happy to drive around in this Focus as I know the work that's gone into it. Is there a business model in doing something like this full time? A version of salvage rebuilds except with older non crashed cars? I would think so if customers get to see everything done to the car.
In the UK there is this mindset that a car should be bought new and is obsolete by 3 years. Modern can easily last 20-25 years or more. Often it's the electronics which fail and costly to fix.
There were some associated costs with this project (obviously), however all costs including the original buy price of the car still showed me a healthy profit come sale time - although I’d like to add that, for me, sometimes it’s not purely about profit alone. Sometimes it’s about giving a good car another shot at life. I’m genuinely believe in the sentiment expressed at the end of this video. Saving old cars is the greenest way we can move forward.
Great work as always Johnny..there's as much profit at the lower end of the market if one is willing to put in the effort..👍what's in the magic spray bottle for the interiors,? 😂
Cheers! I use a variation of different stuff when cleaning interiors depending on how grotty it is! In this case i used a mild TFR mix with added APC and whole load of elbow grease!
That was a leather / vinyl refinishing kit. If you check out the specific focus videos on my channel (one of the last ones I did on the focus), there is a link to the kit in the description 👍

@@boilerhousegarage and the massive environmental effects of producing new vehicles (and even more so batteries for electric vehicles)…
new owners now a member of fb focus mk1 preservation group.
An amazing series and great to see the focus sold for that price given the amount of work thats gone in to save this from probable scrap!
Amazing work you did here. Completely transformed. Great to see a mk1 focus saved from the scrapyard
Thanks! I always get a buzz from saving an old car from the scrap yard- especially one that deserves a second chance as badly as this one did!
This series was one of the best ones you’ve made so far Johnny! 👌🏻😊👍🏻
Thank you - Lots more to come on later projects too!
Fantastic work you did on this Focus Johnny! Amazed!
Thank you Charlie 👍

I've got a thing for this car, it's the first one I bought. Loved the video 😀
Thank you!
Awesome video, man ! That car is worth much more than 2K after all the work you have put in. Keep up the good work :) !
Thank you!
Sunday viewing has arrived.
I do my best! Thanks for watching!
Superb result. And I see now you do use fallout 😉
Love it how the car was a scrap job for them but look at it now. Like a new car to someone and a lot of car for £2k
I get a real kick out of bringing these old cars back to their best! Some cars just WANT to be saved and this Focus was certainly one of those!

Long live old school motors!
Amazing transformation, great job ! that car will make someone very happy :))
Future affordable classic,it would look great at any car club meetings.
I agree! A genuinely enjoyable & affordable way to get into the classic car scene!
How much did you spend on parts, engine work, etc? Its great to see cars being saved from the scrap yard
And how many hours in total.. Vital to know, because there might not be any "profit" at all..
