    Johnny let’s all be honest we knew just how good that interior would end up after you got to work on it. I loved the attention to detail and what a touch when you put some tyre dressing on that original spare wheel, quality. No corners were cut in the valeting and it just shows what a little time and elbow grease can do to an older vehicle. Already excited for the exterior polish.

    Just stumbled across your channel, subscribed straight away as soon as I saw the mk1, as an owner myself it's lovely to see these little cars get a new lease of life, I've had mine for almost 3 years now and other than minor maintenance and a couple tyres it's been good to me. Can't wait to see the end result. 🙏💯

    • @JohnnyGetsCash
      @JohnnyGetsCash  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes the burns are one of those annoying flaws. It is sortable, but in this case it doesn't detract too much from the car as a whole and whilst this is a lovely example, it is still what i would class as a 'cheap car' so i tend not to go too crazy over the top with every element! @@JohnnyGetsCash Thanks. I keep thinking I'll sell it but then I don't ! Needs cambelt doing again which is a few hundred. Only issues are a very slight oil leak which it's had for years. Dipstick level doesn't even drop it's just a bit oily round sump area. Slight water leak in boot. And the only main advisory on mot has been rear anti roll bar corroded but not seriously weakened.

    Re: cigarette burns - I've had pretty reasonable results on fabric/velour seats by using a razor blade to scrape fabric fibres off of an unseen part of the seat, some fabric filler to fill the deepest bit and then mixing a drop of fabric adhesive in with the fibres for the top finish. It's not perfect but for a small amount of work it takes the eye off the worst of the damage.

    • @JohnnyGetsCash
      @JohnnyGetsCash  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I actually use my own customised concoctions when cleaning depending on the application.
      In this case, that vivid Green fluid was a mixture of APC, lightly scented upholstery cleaner and a small amount of liquid soap.
      This cuts through any sticky grime and leaves a lovely, clean, satin finish. In terms of brushes I use a variety of detailing brushes (links in description). I have to add though you should only mix products according to the manufacturers data sheets! 👍

      I was arm wrestling with a Morgan Plus 8 and lost 😂 as a result my left wrist has been giving me a bit of trouble lately so the support just prevents me from over extending and causing any more damage. It’s a bit of a nuisance wearing it whilst trying to work to be honest so I’m hoping things improve soon and I can be without it!

    • @JohnnyGetsCash

      I actually use my own customised concoctions when cleaning depending on the application. In this case, that vivid Green fluid was a mixture of APC, lightly scented upholstery cleaner and a small amount of liquid soap. This cuts through any sticky grime and leaves a lovely, clean, satin finish. I have to add though you should only mix products according to the manufacturers data sheets!
      I would happily keep this one and use it as a daily runner but i already have a fleet of vehicles that i refuse to sell and class as my 'daily runners' / flit between depending on the mood i'm in that day!

    I respect the enthusiasm and attention to detail but this really isn’t the way to make money if you’re planning on flipping it. No amount of insane detailing is gonna add that much to this car. Seems like a lot of extra time for something with very little reward

    • @JohnnyGetsCash
      @JohnnyGetsCash  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Generally speaking, you’d be correct - time is money so why spend excess time on a vehicle? Well in my case, I know how long jobs like this will take as I have been doing this for a very long time so I can quantify my time vs how much I need to get from a vehicle. Furthermore my levels of attention to detail have earned me a bit of a reputation for a ‘job done thoroughly’ which helps massively come sale time (and not only helps for a quick sale, but also a sale at strong money) 👍
