Johnny let’s all be honest we knew just how good that interior would end up after you got to work on it. I loved the attention to detail and what a touch when you put some tyre dressing on that original spare wheel, quality. No corners were cut in the valeting and it just shows what a little time and elbow grease can do to an older vehicle. Already excited for the exterior polish.
pollen filter once scuttle panel removed it will need resealed.also make sure the water channel inside scuttle panel isnt cracked.nightmare for water getting into passenger footwell if not put back properly.

Great job! 2 tools i think would come in handy would be a pressure sprayer for your cleaning solutian for the seats and mats, and maybe an corded screwer/drill for the drill brushes. I saw your hands getting tired from the spray bottles😄
Like you I live in the rural south-west away from the rat race of having to have the latest over-bloated £40k fake off-reader just to do a commute / the shopping / school run. This is just the sort of car I’d happily run and look after myself. I find content about cars like this weirdly interesting!

Yes the burns are one of those annoying flaws. It is sortable, but in this case it doesn't detract too much from the car as a whole and whilst this is a lovely example, it is still what i would class as a 'cheap car' so i tend not to go too crazy over the top with every element! Thanks for watching
Your doing just as I use to when I was doing it. Much the same way. I just used a scubing brush with a decent handle but like your one on the drill. The car is what it is. But your making the most of it. Big 👍
Re: cigarette burns - I've had pretty reasonable results on fabric/velour seats by using a razor blade to scrape fabric fibres off of an unseen part of the seat, some fabric filler to fill the deepest bit and then mixing a drop of fabric adhesive in with the fibres for the top finish. It's not perfect but for a small amount of work it takes the eye off the worst of the damage.
Not a bad idea, but in the interests of full transparency I will leave the seats uncovered for the sale but I will certainly suggest a quality set of seat covers to the new owner (I’d probably go down that route if this was a car for me to keep) 👍

Just come across your channel and subbed. Great content with this Focus which I've had to watch all the videos!! They are brilliant cars and I don't know why these end up as scrap!! I still run a 2004 automatic with 55,000 on clock. They are just great to drive and I've always been reluctant to sell it as my dad had it before me. Keep up with your amazing transformations!☺️👍

@@JohnnyGetsCash Thanks. I keep thinking I'll sell it but then I don't ! Needs cambelt doing again which is a few hundred. Only issues are a very slight oil leak which it's had for years. Dipstick level doesn't even drop it's just a bit oily round sump area. Slight water leak in boot. And the only main advisory on mot has been rear anti roll bar corroded but not seriously weakened.
That has definitely come up very nicely indeed. I noticed you didn't clean the headlining or the pillar trims. Was that done off camera at all, by any chance? Looking forward to the next episode!
Well spotted! I did clean these however as all they needed was a cursory wipe down with a microfibre and some APC mix, it didn’t warrant filming, but rest assured, it has been done!

I do on occasion, however the majority of the time, the vehicles I am dealing with benefit from having a hard-copy invoice from a standalone garage to verify the work (as of course mechanical jobs aren’t visible on inspection). This just helps to give buyers added peace of mind.

I have to add though you should only mix products according to the manufacturers data sheets! 👍

This cuts through any sticky grime and leaves a lovely, clean, satin finish. I have to add though you should only mix products according to the manufacturers data sheets! I would happily keep this one and use it as a daily runner but i already have a fleet of vehicles that i refuse to sell and class as my 'daily runners' / flit between depending on the mood i'm in that day!
Can you tell me about the wrist support on your left hand and does it work? I've been having horrid pain in both my wrists but oddly the left one (non dominant hand) is the worst.
I was arm wrestling with a Morgan Plus 8 and lost 😂 as a result my left wrist has been giving me a bit of trouble lately so the support just prevents me from over extending and causing any more damage. It’s a bit of a nuisance wearing it whilst trying to work to be honest so I’m hoping things improve soon and I can be without it!

hi! when you took those seats out, did u have to disconnect the airbag wiring underneath, and did you have to disconnect the battery first? want to do that to my Fabia as I have just bought a vax spot wash and don't want to reconnect the wiring after and the airbags go off! thanks.

@@ada-ey3xd this is due to a common fault with Focus binnacles. Ford changed them under warranty so a lot of Mk1 Focus show a mileage drop early in their lives.
Not really worth the time you put into for a profit for resale but for you tube profit that’s a different story . That’s what it seems to be all about these days . Fair play
I respect the enthusiasm and attention to detail but this really isn’t the way to make money if you’re planning on flipping it. No amount of insane detailing is gonna add that much to this car. Seems like a lot of extra time for something with very little reward
Generally speaking, you’d be correct - time is money so why spend excess time on a vehicle? Well in my case, I know how long jobs like this will take as I have been doing this for a very long time so I can quantify my time vs how much I need to get from a vehicle. Furthermore my levels of attention to detail have earned me a bit of a reputation for a ‘job done thoroughly’ which helps massively come sale time (and not only helps for a quick sale, but also a sale at strong money) 👍

One other transformation for the interior is the Cabin Filter. Makes a world of difference to the overall smell of a car
The cabin filter was done as part of the service - I agree, it's an important (and sometimes overlooked) element.

I would always disconnect the airbags if taking seats out and disconnect battery before doing anything

88k miles? I thought it was 40 something.
No, it’s showing 53k but I’ve established that it had a new binnacle at 35k miles, meaning the car has covered a grand total of 88k over its 20 years!
I noticed this too. Miles dropped 33k (roughly) early on in its life.
@@ada-ey3xd this is due to a common fault with Focus binnacles. Ford changed them under warranty so a lot of Mk1 Focus show a mileage drop early in their lives.
Yep. I’ve seen it personally on my friends aunties one. However hers happened maybe a year ago so long out of warranty.
Not really worth the time you put into for a profit for resale but for you tube profit that’s a different story . That’s what it seems to be all about these days . Fair play
I always work out my hours and make sure sale profits of the vehicle in question cover the labour. This is ultimately a business after all!
I respect the enthusiasm and attention to detail but this really isn’t the way to make money if you’re planning on flipping it. No amount of insane detailing is gonna add that much to this car. Seems like a lot of extra time for something with very little reward
Generally speaking, you’d be correct - time is money so why spend excess time on a vehicle? Well in my case, I know how long jobs like this will take as I have been doing this for a very long time so I can quantify my time vs how much I need to get from a vehicle. Furthermore my levels of attention to detail have earned me a bit of a reputation for a ‘job done thoroughly’ which helps massively come sale time (and not only helps for a quick sale, but also a sale at strong money) 👍
That wasn’t a clean …. That was a full valet worth £500 😮

@@JohnnyGetsCash they will pivot soon to going up in value. All fords head upwards and yours looks like a really good example, as I said before, if that was an estate, I would be in a tent in your front garden to beat the queue.
