I went out during the week to answer some questions on the DJI Mini 4 Pro and when I came home there was a new update on the DJI Mini 4 Pro, so had to go out again to test the drone and found new two problems Possible another new update coming soon
There’s nothing wrong with focus track. The reason it couldn’t pick you up was the distance. It has to be between 4-15 meters for it to work correctly (it’s in the manual) For humans that is. It has to recognise you. Cars and boats are different. Much larger and easy to see. 👍 had lots of comments on my video about it
Waiting on my Mini 4 pro to arrive, just a couple more days to go. I could be wrong, but I thought when the RTH is set to "OPTIMISED" the drone WILL NOT use your preset RTH height, the drone just uses it's avoidance sensors to chart its OWN RTH height and adjust it as needed or necessary to return safely.
Great post. I always wonder what distance from the Home Point does it have to be so that the virtual RTH portion will make it ascend to the RTH altitude? I know when I’ve been witching 15-20 it won’t go up quite as high depending on the distance. Also: I 99.0% hand launch and recover by hand. Got tired of the dust kicked up getting it dirty. Blessing Young Sir. Thanks for sharing.🇺🇸
I seem to recall that precision landing needs you to get up above 7m at take off but I could be wrong. I put the Optional/Optimal down to glare on the screen. Cheers for testing.
Maybe the precision landing is not being achieved due to how close it is to the Home Point when commanded to return to home. I noted this on occasion and it appears to be related to a the short distance from the Home Point.
You had returned to home set to optimal in which case it doesn’t rise to the RTH height. It just finds the best way back. I don’t think it actually says optional. I’m pretty sure that says optimal
Hello shaun, before all the latest updates, on both, aircraft and rc2, there's this problem on rocket shot. The gimbal tilts up after doing the rocket shot as the aircraft is going down. Now, after the update, of both aircraft and rc2. The problem still persist. I am wondering, if you guys are experiencing this too? Also have the issue on that active track or focus track. It misses its human subject when the drone is high. And even cannot track walking subjects unlike before.
Many thanks for your comment and I will check the Rocket shot and see if there is a problem I will make a video testing this), many thanks for watching
I tried flying earlier today, and it refused to take off with the larger power baterry. It always gave a notification about the battery, but it would let me fly in the past. I now have an 89€ battery for the garbage bin
Focus track not working because you have probably got dark clothing on, and the drone probably thinks you're a shadow and not a person. Wearing colours that stand out more, I think the drone at height would then be able to pick you up. It's like a point of interest when you're trying to lock onto a green tree with green grass in the background 😊
OK :) good drone firmware update test! We have a new version of DJI Fly for iOS v1.15.5. DJI can skip the numbers so that DJI Fly for Android and iOS have the same number. Now we don't know what they fixed on Android and what we fixed on iOS :(
You are making unnecessary confusion about tracking people's focus. Tracking works properly up to a distance of 15-18 meters. Maybe even a few meters more if the person is wearing contrasting clothing. Read the user manual. For tracking to work properly, you need to point to the cross so that the drone knows what to track among several objects and can maintain the tracked object. It detects cars from a distance because it is a more recognizable object. I have not noticed this function malfunctioning after the update. The second problem you discussed here regarding the RTH altitude results solely from your ignorance. Read the user manual. PRESET is a function that sets the drone at an altitude selected by the pilot, OPTIMAL is a function in which the drone sets its return home altitude.
Usually, it's own height when set to optimal. Just make sure your obstacle sensors are on, I can't recall if it's on by default when doing RTH while you're in sports mode
@RJ2A81 for me, it depends on the situation. I usually use optimal since I'm generally flying high anyway but I'll switch to manual height if I don't feel comfortable with obstacles getting too close.
How do you get the remote control screen recording. I tried putting SD into the remote clicked the screen recording option on the remote. But I can’t find the footage on the SD card that’s in inserted in the remote.
Since I last updated to 1.15.0. When I go forward, the drone is bouncing up and down, but it doesn't affect the video.. When doing this, the drone is so much louder and annoying. I'll go out one day, and it's fine, and another day, it would happen on and off. I had this issue with an earlier update. Once I get the drone working perfectly. I'll forget about updating again after that 😊

Nice testing Shawn, the new update seems to be working pretty good. Thanks for sharing.
Many thanks for watching Ron
If the RTH beep is driving you mad, you can mute it in the top menu
Many thanks for your help John
Enjoyed the info. Keep on flying my friend
Thank you Richard and many thanks for watching
thanks for taking the time for the update information

7:38 the word is Optimal not Optional
Many thanks for the correction
@@shaunthedrone I didnt want to be that guy but yeah haha

Yeah, there was many words he mispronounced , download vs downward, optimal vs optional and there was another one too I can’t remember now….
@@aaronmurgatroyd5810
You didn't have the preset option selected you had Optimal selected. That's probably why the drone didn't raise up to 80 metres & stayed at 32 metres.

Useful information Shaun! Thanks mate!👌👊

Great information about this update. Many thanks

Does the dji mini 3 pro have the view of the rear back camera like the 4 pro?
No Vision Assist on the Mini 3 Pro like the Mini 4 Pro - many thanks for watching

Correct James, just showing you with the question set on Preset instead on Optimised - many thanks for watching

On the focus tracking don't you have to confirm by pressing the plus symbol ?
Good point, yes you still have to draw a box around you
You've got RTH set to Optimal which i think won't go up to your setting if not needed.

Many thanks for your comment and I must do some more on the precision landing in another video - coming soon
When doing focus track test, the drone camera was in manual focus. Maybe that could effect the auto tracking.

You need preset selected for it to RTH at your set altitude.

Very interested to hear your take on the DJI Mini Mic
Many thanks for watching Duncan - best thing about the Mini Mic is you can store the Dead Cats on the mic in the carry case

Hi Mike, send a message to DJI Support, it may be something they missed out - good luck

I usually have the RTH height preset. So does optimal just try navigating its own height and path?
Usually, it's own height when set to optimal. Just make sure your obstacle sensors are on, I can't recall if it's on by default when doing RTH while you're in sports mode
Usually at the height your are flying for the RTH
@@johnkeo358 Thank you. I’ve always just set my own height depending on where I am. Never left optimal on.

When you remove the SD card from the RC2, look for Movies and the screen saves are there
