Hey guys! My sister and I used to go a korean spicy cold noodles restaurant when we used live close by, it was our secret place during summer time. When either one of us having a bad day, that was the place to go. We go there together, eat the spicy cold noodles and forget about all other problems. I didn't mellow down the flavor to fit in eveybody's taste so please reduce amount to raw garlic and chili to your taste! Hope you guys try this cold noodles before the weather gets cool!! Love you all!! ❤️ Written recipe & Nutrition Fact: seonkyounglongest.com/spicy-cold-noodles/
1) this looks damn delicious and I've never tried cold noodles before 2) your outtakes are my new favorite thing 3) all your hard work in making things perfect totally shows. Love your channel and so does my 4 year old daughter. She wants to make all your recipes after each video and loves giving you a thumbs up 🙌🏼
Cold noodles are awesome. Another dish that can be served cold with noodles is a Vietnamese one called Pho Ga' which is a light but salty chicken broth with lots of lime and cilantro added and a huge pile of those little rice noodles you sometimes see in Chinese and Vietnamese places with bits of shredded chicken and diced jalapeno for a bit of kick. Sometimes it's served hot, but can be served cold with ice cubes floating in the bowl. Also, before North Korea got taken over by the commies, they had a sweet rather than spicy version of this as a summer-time dish made with Asian pear sauce and molasses topped with syrup-soaked radishes and lightly salted hard-boiled eggs. It was served with vegetable fritters and tea. They do still offer it to the few foreign tourists for PR sake.
Wow! My mouth truly watered when you were eating this. My girls are into all things Korean at the moment....including watching all Korean drama's available on cable TV! I must try this one day! Thank you for sharing!
It's been three years but this is still my best Asian at home outtake. At this point I watch this video when I need a mood booster. Thank you seonkyoung for unconsciously lifting my mood
Whoa just made this and it's amazing! You're so right about that garlic burn. I used 6 cloves since I love garlic. I also added a teaspoon of vinegar to offset the sweetness from the jam. So tasty.
Every time I get a notification, I'm cooking one of your recipes, Seonkyoung. I just cooked 닭갈비. Of course, it's awesome! Thank you so much! I can't wait to try this spicy cold noodles, on of my favorite dishes!
Can't wait to try this recipe out I just know I'm going to love it!! And I swear the bloopers at the end make me laugh every time I live she has a sense of humor and can talk to herself lol
Hello Seonkyeong, I made a special trip to an Asian market to make sure I had everything to make this. It's fantastic! I left out the Serrano chili and 1 tbsp less of gochugaru because my family doesn't tolerate spicy food as well as I do. It was still good and spicy and strong! I wasn't going to let my 3.5 year old son have any but he insisted on trying some. His eyes got big and he started charging around the table like a crazy man. He would stop and ask for more, he ate a bunch! I couldn't believe it as he is usually pretty fussy about strongly flavored food. Thanks for a winning recipe!
I was just craving this! I never thought to use jam! I will take try it! Your energy brings a smile to my day:) especially since I thought today was Friday and its only Thursday :(
Just like your first episodes years ago this vid and the way its edited brings back memories when I first freaked out that a korean wouild reveal the real ways of cooking their food.
I love how you made the recipe tutorial very simplistic and easy to follow !~ I'm usually not very good at cooking, but I'm going to try making this dish. Thanks again~ Subscribed, keep up the hard work~
Another AWESOME video Seonkyoung!! I'm going to try this too, but not so much hot pepper flakes. The "ring of fire" the next day will hurt lol. Your blooper" Eggs - Egg, only putting half, not even one, and you're saying eggs" I laughed so hard my tummy hurt. hahaha. Keep up the great work Seonkyoung!!!
Sun you make everything look like it's the best ish on earth and I need to get on it ASAP and make it so I can eat the best ish tooo!!!!!! Love you and your videos!!! Everyone loves all the Korean food I make-- all cuz if your videos!! Thank you!!
I'm DEFINITELY going to be trying this one out! You always bring the best recipes thank you so much! Would you ever consider a short tutorial on how to hold chopsticks? I've noticed Korean people hold them differently than I was taught to but I can't figure out how to replicate it 😔
Naengmyeon is one of my favorite Korean dishes but I've only had the store-bought sauce that comes with the package of noodles. I've never had it with freshly made sauce or with vegetables! This looks so good my mouth is watering like crazy! I have to try this!
When u use sesame seeds do u buy them raw and do u toast them yourself or do u buy them toasted so u dont have to do it? Or if u do buy them toasted do u toast them again to get them toastier?
I so hope that Life In Korea S.# becomes a thing some day! Your channel is one of my top 3 favourite channels of all time on TH-cam, Maangchi and Mina Oh are my other favourites to follow! :)
Hey Seonkyoung! This looks so good. Does this dish stay good as leftovers or does it need to be made fresh? Cold noodles would make a great work lunch.
Hi Seonkyeung!! I love your videos and recipes! One question: there was one version of this dish I tried, where they serve it in a cold clear tangy broth, with vinegar and mustard on the side.... I love it. I douse it in vinegar and mustard! Is it a different dish altogether?
I LOVE this dish, thank you for teaching it. Now I can have this anytime I need a pick up. Loved your correcting the pluralization of eggs, too funny :D
for all the food that use Mirin or any other ingredients which contain alcohol, especially this recipe.. can I substitute with something else? or the food taste will be really different if I don't use it? thank you.. :D
