Australian has many hidden musical gems that the rest of the world has yet to discover. Matt is brilliant, a true musician who can play many instruments and writes all his own stuff. Beautiful vocal control!

@@bernadettelanders7306 I remember seeing him on one of the singing competitions shows years ago. Then I lost track of him till I started watching you tube reactors. He written beautiful gut wrenching lyrics and takes his voice to unbelievable places. Our classic legends like farnsey and Barnsey need to move over a little bit for these young guns like Matt, Guy Sebastian and Josh Tesky. 🤩

Goosebumps every time for me! Matt was a 16 year old on Australian Idol which really derailed him for a while. Thank goodness he didn't give up. His innate talent and versatility add something special to this world ... and he is also VERY easy on the eye 😉

He's a gem indeed. You really should check live performances of "miracle love" or "trick of the light". He's had a quiet patch but I'm sure we're going to see more talent from this man in future 👍

Matt Corby is Australian. 'like a Version' is a radio segment on triple J radio that invites a musician to sing a cover song and then an original song. This was Matt Corby original. I would suggest reacting to his songs 'Made of Stone' and 'Trick of the light'.
There is something in this performance that is just something else than his album version.

He has one of the most powerful and passionate voices and one of best singers in the world. He didn't venture far from Aus so is not as well known across the world. That was a great reaction! Matt is an insane talent! Others have given you his story, but one you absolutely have to react to is his version of Tina Arena’s song Chains. He did is on like a version on Triple J radio, but his version is absolutely incredible! Matt Corby - Chains!
Matt is brilliant, always commits fully to the performance. The look on your face when he lets loose at the end was priceless. Trick of the Light is my favourite by him. He came 3rd (I think) in Australian Idol about 15 years ago. Then his disappeared, he came back a few years later reinvented as a unique independent artist and has become one of the best singer/songwriters in Australia and the world. Losing Aussie Idol was the best thing that could have happened since it gave him the freedom to be the artist he is.

Matt Corby is a singer/songwriter from Australia. He has his own recording studio with a lot of instruments that he plays, records and mixes his own music. It happens to be his birthday today (7th Nov 1990)
Hola... Matt Corby is an Australian... was runner up on Australian Idol 2007... this song was released in 2011 it was written after he had slept with his mates girlfriend and was riddled with guilt and as you can see by the performance it still has an impact on him.. hope this has answered a few of you questions...

His voice has a beautiful tone to it. Great lyrics. He should have said destroyed instead of the impotent F-word, it has more power than the F-word ever had, even before the F-word was so overused in casual conversation that it lost what little power it had.
Respectfully disagree as he wasn’t destroyed by the blame, not even close. He was just fucked up by it, the meaning is quite different. Maybe an Aussie thing but vocally the word has plenty of power as it’s rarely used in music.
