The B is for Birthday cam. When you order one you have to be sure it's very near to your birthday when you order, because if you order it just after your birthday Ford wont make it for another year, True facts.
hahahaha nice
Lmao. Great one
In the process of building a 347 right now. Went with an e cam. I been working 7-12s so that has paused. I can't wait to finish it.
Soooooooo my friend, you will get to reap the reward of that hard work
Great thing for cleaning engine block and parts is easy off oven cleaner, will help take the oil build up and gunk off, as well as the paint, just make sure you clean it off really good when done
Nice! Thanks!
Phenomenal video man! Respect the struggle! Cant wait for you to sort it out and fire it up! Love the mic on the hat trick too, btw 😂
Haha thank you!
Awesome coming right along quick looking forward to hearing and seeing the fox ripp!!👊
You and me both!
Really enjoyed this episode.
Thank you! 🤙🤙
The cylinders look pretty good.
You put the first piston in. I was like….. Art!!!! Turn the engine on its side!!! Put pieces of hose on the rod bolts!!! You must’ve heard me because the second piston the block was turned!! 😂
😂😂
Very Nice!
We'll see!! 🤙🤙
Rubber hose on rod bolts so don’t scratch crank that’s all
Cool channel. If it was me. I would have trouble sleeping tonight not knowing tolerance for crank bearings. Used block with a different used crank, would have used plastigauge just to check. Keep up the great work.
even average typing paper can replicate the right clearance for testing in a pinch.
If turn's then send it 😂
When you decide to go carb, make sure you use a single plane intake manifold. The main reason is whenever you switch to a Sniper, they don't like dual plane as much.
Interesting, I was not aware of that. Seems to do alright on the dual plane on Earl and the 460
Good job, this was a good video. I like the way this build is going, on a budget like the vast majority of us do. 15-20k on a turbo LS or Coyote is cool but, to much money and then they’re finicky to drive around town. Wanna go fast, the big dogs always run big blocks so, a 460, set of.030 pistons, $$ heads/cam and Yur fast at half the cost of a finicky running turbo LS…lol imo. I’m thinking, 13:50 with that setup and NOS will get into 12’s? Pretty cool fun /burnout car for budget money.
Thanks, I think with the 4.10's it might do a little better. But traction is always the problem
Loving the channel, about to be in this same position possibly still have to pull my motor and dig in.
Haha thank you, good luck my friend!
Awesome job!
Thank you! 🤙🤙
🚗🔧🙌👊💪🇺🇸🐎
Spicey little 5.0
Hope so!
Alright already derek
What did Derek do!?
Good vid. Sub'd.
Thank you! Welcome aboard! 🤙🤙
just put copper spark plugs . You aint trying to make 100000 mile without changing sparkplug you are trying to have decent performance without selling an eye
Should have done the piston flip trick and gave it a slight bump in compression.
Piston flip trick!? Do tell
Neo mustangs on TH-cam goes in detail on it well but you basically take rod and piston from cylinder 1 and put in cylinder 5 with dot facing backwards and then vise versa cylinder 5 rod and piston you would put in cylinder 1 and you do that for the rest of the engine all the way back so 2 to 6 and 6 to 2 etc. all pistons have their dots facing backwards. If you look at the rod and piston from the side you will notice they’re slightly offset and not center and that’s where you get your slight bump in compression. But like I said check out neo mustangs here on TH-cam and look for his vid on the piston flip trick for 302’s. I did it on one of my fox cars just last year.
Interesting
Yeah either way it’s no big deal but I figure since you had it down to bare block why not and a lil spice to her lol
Haha for sure, I'm gonna look into it before I go through the work out putting the heads on
302 is a fair offer . Yes yes 260 289 were race engine . 302 to 305 ? Bof .but you are starting from the block .so that 302 will make plenty of power if big isolated electrical wire fly solo and are not held , touch by metal . Not even a rubber coated strap . Gm is nice ignition coil is on the distributor cap
Why would the 302 NOT be considered amongst the other "race engines" especially considering...
The 302 engined Ford GT40 won at Le mans in '68 just like the 289 and 427 before it...even without the manufacturers support that year...
Or...
The Trans Am series of late 60's early 70's which created the "Boss 302". Designed and constructed as a 302 with incredible pre-Cleveland style heads to take those races also. The 302/5.0 is arguably the most successful if judged solely by its longevity (30+ years) or its aftermarket boom for Ford street performance....
@@patrickf4692 i have no answer .
All that work and you are going to reuse a timing gear and chain set with how many miles on them ?
Sometimes you just gotta add a little spice into the equation
Spice is expensive and disheartening sometimes but ok I will stay tuned
I would you to plastic gauge the main and rod bearings to find out what your tolerance is. As well as check your ring and gabs before installing rings on pistons to make sure you have no ring bind in the bore.
Used plastiguage and gapped the rings off the pistons, just didnt film any of it because it would be two hours of me staring at a micrometer and feeler gauges hahaha.
Do you still do any racing?
I don't, but I'd love to get back into it again eventually 🤙
Make your intro better with burnouts
Earl only does one wheel peels currently, but rest assured I'm sure some will come when scrappy is back together.
Also, the last burnout video ended with the fire department and deputies at the house 😬
