How to Be Self-Aware | Why Love is Hard Ep. 2

  • When you find yourself triggered by a person or situation, ask yourself:
“What is this person teaching me that I need to learn to become more whole?”
“Do I behave like this now?”
“Did I behave like this in the past?”
Believe it or not, forgiving ~yourself~ is the most effective way to disengage from negative interactions with people. We can only love and accept others to the degree that we love and accept ourselves.

AMY LEE Thank you for this video, it came at just the right moment for me! What I loved most about it was that it was informational, but you were able to give real life and personal examples. Thank you for being vulnerable with us. I would love it if you made a video about getting to know your gifts, & specifically how we can figure out what our purpose is through our experiences and relationships, wounding, etc. You are incredible Amy! ❤️

️❤️❤️♥️❤️❤️️ how's your quarantining going hun? I volunteered to do it, just yesterday. A handful of my co workers are continuing work... In NJ. My close knit family and group of friends are safe, so as long as we're healthy, and I know more people are quarantining themselves, then I see alot of light coming into the situation. We'll be butterflies 🎆🌟

I completely agree with what you say! However right now I’m dealing with having a toxic family member. I’ve spent years avoiding it and trying to see the best in that person but in order for me to heal I have to walk away because there has been a family cycle and I don’t want to follow that pattern. I choose to walk away to self preservation.

i dont think its fair to say that people are the least self aware when they're sensitive. you can be painfully aware of where you may be feeling attacked when its not intentional, but its a result of emotional abuse and neglect, and takes time to unlearn those assumptions

    • @Seeyounextuesday333
      @Seeyounextuesday333 3 ปีที่แล้ว

I highly agree with this. Unfortunately, because of toxic upbringings some have always been made to defend themselves due to Loved ones emotionally attacking them or dismissing it all together . This in return causes heightened awareness as well as self awareness and anxiety aka the sensitivity they experience when interacting with them.

You are so wise and constantly put out videos with things you researched about psychology, you have such a deep understanding of what makes us behave in certain ways, I'd never even have thought about questioning the existence of your intellect and wisdom.
It really breaks my heart though that you've been told that a lot, I see what it does to my brother and putting that thought into a kids mind can really destroy the path they might have walked cause they don't believe in themselves.

Thank you so much for this video🙏🏻 After digging deep into my own reflection of why I couldn't accept some criticisms that were given to me, I finally realised that my perfectionism was putting me at fear of letting go of a past relationship. I find it hard to accept that I am wrong, and it is something that I am continuously working to be better at. I admire you and the effort you put into your videos!💖

And sometimes someone else can trigger a inner conflict. But that person doesnt have that conflict in herself. I myself have a inner hate for my own sexuality , I feel it like a anoying voice that is there trying to control me. It disgust me. I hope findding some peace some day.
if you random reader share this issue , hope you the best , stay strong !
(for context but no need to read)
My last relasionship had a complementary problem , have fear of abandonment so try to use his sexuality to keep me close, each time she try I got more block like a wall that got bigger and bigger.
I think is because my childhood friends were all girls, and usualy I can socialize with women just fine but with other man is almost imposible , time literaly stops.
