    Many thanks from across the river in Livingston county, KY! MY dad's blower quit on him this morning in his 2004 silverado. He called me about 6pm (why would we want to work on anything when I still had daylight? Lol) and your video popped up! ABSOLUTE perfect instructions and I admire your enthusiasm when something goes right! 😀
    A quick run to Auto Zone after pulling the resistor (toast), and went ahead and splurged on the motor ...just in case.... no time.to.make.a 2nd trip into paducah tonight.
    It was ONLY the resistor and we had it fixed in a snap. Thanks to your video! I owe you a Coca-Cola!

    Okay I have this problem on 2004 Silverado 2500 HD 2 wheel drive with 6.0... bought it a year-and-a-half excellent no lights on in the dashboard. Three months ago started to cut off loose power still running... change throttle body, two three days good then started to dye in red lights and start right up.. I noticed that all this started when summer came in West Texas hotter than a ... okay. AC went out winter was coming didn't bother now it's hot I fixed it.. I had noticed there was a bypass from the fuse of SEO ACCY powered 4WD fuse. Which by itself has no power. Was told at AutoZone scanner short in wiring harnessed somewhere so I was thinking about that fused jumped for the blower I checked offices they were all good that have to do with the blower in the engine fuse box okay fuse box under panel driver side HTR/AC and HVAC both disease good but no power no power feeding fuses.. but with the bypass of ACCY to 4WD.. there is power In fuses... I want to eliminate jumper and make blower work right maybe fix problem of truck dying which I have changed out throttle body some sensor on top of the throttle body that controls pressure fuel something like that also replaced relay on the blower truck works like a when I put cargo on it pull trailers works better but the SOB dies on stop red lights... lol

  • @johnarnold893
    @johnarnold893 ปีที่แล้ว

    There are a couple of different versions, one for the manual A/C and another one for the automatic A/C. I changed mine last year and it was a radiator style controller resistor. Yesterday my blower motor quit and all the fuses were good. Tested to voltage going to the motor and it was good. When I plugged the connector to the blower motor back in it was all good again. Wasn't making good contact I guess. On the models with the Auto A/C there is a cover over the resistor and motor that you need to remove first.

  • @richardfote4083

    i work in a garage mr zanis . 99 percent of the time you always change both blower and resister . the blower motors always draw too much current and melt the connecting pins and some times replace both also. but they didn't look bad .

    Rule of thumb...Always replace the resistor and fan together. Older electrical parts will usually kill their trophy wives.

      @@kengrant5400 I still haven't fixed or taken mine apart. I got 2 opinions, 1 full mechanic said the motor itself and another small engine hobbyist said resistor. When I open it I'll update here, but I own multiple vehicles so we'll see when.

    • @kengrant5400
      @kengrant5400 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm going to work on mine tomorrow. A friend of mine said he's fixed one before. I still have heat but no fan at all. I'll start with the fuses and go from there. If we figured it out I'll let you know what it was and how long it takes.

    • @kengrant5400
      @kengrant5400 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turn's out that a friend of mine reached up under the glovebox and unhooked the switch to the fan motor and plugged it back in and the blower worked again. It might still go out but for now it's working 3 days now..

    • @Bog8686
      @Bog8686 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kengrant5400 wonder if that was just ceased up... I still have yet to get to mine as I work night shift so my hours are everywhere. Try a bit of krown lube or rust chek if the bearing is visible.
