Get ready for the haters. I sure hope last gens V6'ers don't stoop to V8'ers level and flex at ones who choose the 4cyl. Each of these engines has their pros and cons. V8, best sounding, most powerful, most fun. Cons: only takes premium/supreme fuel or it'll run like shit, more expensive maintenance, insurance, car payment V6, decent sound, great power, runs only on unleaded fuel, more balanced than the 8. Cons: Is a jack of both trades (performance, fuel) but a master of neither. 4cyl, runs unleaded, best fuel, great power for the fuel economy, lightest. Cons: not aggressive at all.
Drove one of these at work yesterday, and it surprised the hell out of me. It would probably give my old '95 Z28 a run for its money, and so would the V6.

just got a 2019 turbo 4 camaro and I must say, it is super fun to drive. It feels so much lighter than the SS and under 120 it feels just as fast. Ultimate daily sports car.
I'm pretty satisfied with my 2016 Camaro 2.0T. I believe the car is pretty underestimated, I thought it was going to be slow but it actually pulls pretty fast for a car with 275 HP and 295 torque. I'm getting stock 0-60s in 5.3 to 5.4. The fastest I got was a 0-60 in 5.2 running 93 octane. For the power it puts out the numbers are fairly quick. Not to mention I've raced my friends 2016 Mustang V6 which has 300 HP and surprisingly won in a 1/4 race. My best 1/4 was 13.9 at 103. And the car is stock so it's pretty respectable at stock and with a few tunes in the future it should be pretty damn fast considering its 200 pounds lighter than the new V6 and V8
Nothing much really the less weight and more torque of the 4cyl makes it almost identical to the V6 0-60 in both are pretty identical same with 1/4 the v6 only being marginally faster
+S Miller Heck the 1993 Camaro Z28 with the 1st year 275hp LT1 did 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and did the 1/4 mi in 14.5 seconds (Auto trans) at around the same trap speed as this base 4cyl turbo Camaro. That's pretty dang impressive!
+GrandCamino6 True...but that slush box A4 and crap gearing did the LT1 no justice. A 1993 T-56 manual Z28 could pull mid-high 13s (13.6-13.8) all day with a good driver.
+BEBNC1 True the 460LE is not the best trans but I only used it as an example as this car has an auto trans. You have to admit that it's pretty impressive that a 2.0L Turbo nearly matching the performance of a previous gen car with over twice the displacement. Of course I loved the LT1 sound from back in the day.
These videos really have the best detailed information about the given car. Especially info on the interiors. You're able to cover so many aspects of the car in a very quick manner that I truly appreciate. Thanks!
I routinely get between 34-40 mpg with my 2.0T Camaro, and the car is really quick and fun to drive. It'll easily outrun my '96 Z28 to 60, and embarrass it on a curvy road. The squeaks and rattles of the previous gens are gone and the car feels solid and well built. I give Chevrolet two thumbs up on this new Camaro. The only thing I miss is the V8 rumble.
your reviews are great and authentic as always. I specially appreciate it when you review base cars because not everyone can afford fully optioned ones.
I've had V8/Stick Muscle cars most of my life.... I have NO problem with this car at all.. I'm actually selling my Mustang GT for a BRZ, or Camaro 4....

I was looking at buying a v6 camaro, but came across a great deal on a new 2021 1ls manual so bought it. It would give my c4 lt1 vette a run for its money, pretty amazing for a four cylinder. Light, nimble, quiet, and quick for the price of a corolla.
Killer Keemaronie tuner market? how tuner? they make RWD cars with turbos not front wheel drive trash. besides these can make more torque than a v8 has horsepower
Maybe a stock V8 from the 1980s as it only makes 275 hp. The LGX V6 Camaro makes 335 hp which is 60 more horsepower and even the new push rod V6 in the truck line is more powerful at 285 hp and while running on 87 octane gas. GM would have did a better job if they took an engine from their truck line and put it in the car. The LV3 is a LS family V8 with two cylinders chopped off so from a tuning perspective with would beat both the Ecotech and the LGX.
I have a 4 cylinder turbo and I love it. I bought one because I was on a budget and a Camaro is my dream car. Once i make more money I’m looking at buying an RS 6 cylinder. Just love this car
I remember watching this review when it came out, and now in 2023, I bought a brand new 23 Camaro LS. Everything you said is true and I just had to come back and watch this. Best 29k I've spent, so sad GM is cutting the Camaro
+Jim Jones That'd be cool, but inline 6's have pretty much been phased out in cars. The only car manufacturer that still makes inline 6 cars is BMW. Every other manufacturer prefers V6's because they're more compact. It won't be long until cars that have traditionally had 8 and 6 cylinder opinions to only be available with inline 4's, which sucks in my opinion, but you can blame the economy for that.
Actually they already have the perfect engine for the base Camaro the LS based LV3 V6 it makes 285 hp and 305ft of torque in the Chevy Silverado. If they give it a cam and intake better suited for use in a sports car it could make over 300hp while running on 87 octane regular gas. Wouldn't matter if it got 2 or 3 mpg worse the cost of fuel would still be lower.

Just thought I would make a correction to some of the post below. The Eco boost is a Ford turbo not a Chevrolet. I use to work for a Chevy Dealership. My favorite car was the Chevy SS. wish I had one. great 4 door sleeper.
last week i saw an "RS" badge on a chevy cruise. kinda dilutes the true meaning if gm is just sticking that on cars for a trim pkg w/o the performance to back it up. reminds me of when chevy made the chevette "sport"
Music is a very subjective thing, and since your channel is about cars, you should minimize the length & volume of your music. People subscribe to your channel to watch car reviews, not to listen to your music. Go watch 'Alex on Autos' channel if you don't know what I'm talking about.
+subaruwrxfan Yea that's what I was leaning towards as well. I've always been infatuated with the looks of the mustang. My dream car for as long as I could remember.
+Javaris James "Laptops just ain't right. We should only be using typewriters!" "muh feels" "muh noises" "muh purity." I will never understand this logic...
+johnny O. everybody is trying to do fuel economy nowadays. IF you think about it though it still has more hp than any 3rd gen and any 4th gen camaro aside from the ls1 4th gen stock. It's not a bad power output and you can cruise with decent mpg.
4 banger and a turbo.......Seriously?!?!?! (like a 6 cyl wasn't bad enough in what's suppose to be a muscle car) I guess they're trying to break into the import/tuner crowd. Might as well throw on some 24's, a Big ass wing and a Fart cannon exhaust while their at it.
DeeBo They are trying to get a bigger crowd interested in the car. If they only offered a huge engined high performance car then this would be dead like the old camaro. Not everybody wants a 6.2L engine. Why the hate on a 6 cyl or 4cyl? I have a e46 m3 with a 3.2L I6 but when it came out it could easily spank a 5.7L chevy that had more cubes but less power. It is as fast 0-60 as a 5th gen camaro when they came out in 2010. Give it some time and I can promise someone with tune the I4 and put on a bigger turbo + intercooler and make more hp than the v8 @455.
+DeeBo 6 cylinders were always in muscle cars. Why don't you get an education ya dumbfuck. If it wasn't for the V6 cars we wouldn't have our v8's. But from your statement you clearly have no education to see how a business works or consumer needs.
***** Also to add they have to build I4 and v6 muscle cars nowadays. Car manufactures have to meet a certain mpg average for their whole line up. So, for every 2 or 3 people that buy a v6 or i4 they allow your v8 to be made.
+subaruwrxfan After the Renegade review, you can review another Camaro, like the 1LE models, if you have the chance. 🙂 Other cars you review as requested or not should make you keep up the great work. I LOVE IT! 😎
mysock351C The funny thing is that since this is the baseline Camaro you should expect more "17 yr old girl's" driving these as well. I see them all the time in current models already.
And here I thought the 2.0L Turbo Camaro was weak. 295lbft torque ain't bad.. 15lbft more than the base Mustang. Torque is speed while horsepower is stamina, so the base Mustang will beat this thing up a hill. Still pretty impressive.
+Andrew Christianson V6 mustang is realy a base car made for Rental fleet. The 2.0 Camaro is basicly a cheaper/lighter ATS. Its a great car and with just 500$ you can have a tune that will bring it to 300hp + 330lbs of torque.
ertren6 Acceleration is speed. Stamina is lasting strength.. power such as necessary for climbing hills or towing. Cross reference at dictionary.com. It'll tell you
You should try a recent Turbo car, you'll like it. The effortless surge of Torque you get at low rpm is perfect for daily driving. As for smoothness and reliability, that's a case by case thing, but the 2.0 in the Camaro is a good one.
I dont get all the people who complain about "sitting low" or having to "look over" the dash. Do you guys not realize that the seats are adjustable? My girl is 5'8 amd she has no problem whatsoever with the drivers seat
Interesting to see the muscle cars going with small engine for hp and mpg, sounds like the Camaro might need a adjustments done on acieration response system ,not Shure what area of the acceleration response system might be the cause of the acceleration lag (dead spot) but you should have the car dealership check it out for a better understand and be covered under warranty.
with the 7speed version of this transmission being in the aftermarket and in the Corvette you would think for only $800 more they'd offer it saving you a second off your 1/4 mile by changing the final drive gear and wouldn't touch you MPG
+Thomas Kimble i have a 1996 Z28 which has the LT1, it's 10 more hp then the '95 z28. i know my car has some punch left in it, i bet that the old school LT1 will still beat it out on top end. one category these new 4 cylinder turbos will never beat it in, exhaust note. the LT1 is still very pleasing to the ear. it sounds awesome. you cant really argue with the bargin of the LT1 4th gens, they still offer really good performance for around $4k. oh, and the t tops havent been an option since 2002. t tops rock i do love my 1996 Z28
Thanks for the great reviews on the different Camaro trims available. But this is where I'm curious: If you put regular fuel in the 4-cylinder turbo, how does the torque compare to the V6 version? Also, how long will the turbo survive on regular before you need to go premium with it?
AzuMentch36 . Never put regular gas on a turbo engine. Turbo cars now these days are for higher grade of gas. Plus the engine won't perform the way it was ment to.
+vyso Yet will out accelerate any fuel injected Camaro from 1992 on back and is only a tenth or so 0-60 behind the 92-97 LT1 and 98-02 LS1 F bodies. Lotsa potential in that 2.0, but the LT4 in the GEN 6 ZL1 will be so much better.
Same HP as the LT1 in the 1990s Camaros and only 40 less lb ft of torque which is offset by lighter weight. Not too shabby for an engine just over 1/3 the displacement. 0-60 times are pretty close... favouring the four banger.
Me being a v6 auto 2016 rs camaro owner is that people will always judge. 2L are awesome if you like it. People who usually say 4 cylinder is depressing are usually the ones driving a 1992 honda. Or some other car. Go with what you like and feel happy with.

+Danny Contreras I agree that sounds pretty nice! I like the black soot coming out of the exhaust in the exhaust view ;)
i wanna see someone put a bigger turbo and see what it can do!
I've heard stories of ATS owners with this engine putting big turbo's and forged pistons making 400 RWHP.
7:27 was that oil blowing out
All of that extra space in the engine bay..
Noah Preissel good weed hiding spots
awesome! because of this review as one of my deciding factors i bought a 2017 turbo 4cyl camaro! thanks dude! thanks tom henry....
I feel like you try to speak as quickly as possible at the start of every video just because you know it sounds funny
Just thought I would make a correction to some of the post below. The Eco boost is a Ford turbo not a Chevrolet. I use to work for a Chevy Dealership. My favorite car was the Chevy SS. wish I had one. great 4 door sleeper.
4 cylinder in a Camaro! What has the world come to!!??
hello from 1982. camaro already had 4 cylinders 34 years ago.
I didn't agree with it 34 years ago and I still don't.
If I want a 2.0 litre Chevy I would buy a Cavilier or Cobalt or Cruise or whatever the hell they are making these days...
But those are ugly compared to this.
last week i saw an "RS" badge on a chevy cruise. kinda dilutes the true meaning if gm is just sticking that on cars for a trim pkg w/o the performance to back it up. reminds me of when chevy made the chevette "sport"
i like how it still comes with a touchscreen unlike other brand that make you pay more for a screen.
does anyone else skip to the part in his videos where he turns onto the back roads lmao
+Keith If you've seen any of his reviews they are all the same. you could mix videos of different cars and it wouldn't matter.
You've come a long way since your early reviews man. Keep it up :) and that's coming from a 2015 Mustang GT owner. I like the Camaro.
Music is a very subjective thing, and since your channel is about cars, you should minimize the length & volume of your music. People subscribe to your channel to watch car reviews, not to listen to your music. Go watch 'Alex on Autos' channel if you don't know what I'm talking about.
Good job on GM! I like the way it sounds and the blue looks so good! Good work on the review!
American 4 bangers make the ricers feel less ricer...
The quality of your videos are excellent keep it up!
If you had to decide based on these reviews and not based on your car, would you pick a V6 Camaro or a V6 Stang?
+Jake Pieper mustang because I like the styling inside and out better.
+subaruwrxfan Yea that's what I was leaning towards as well. I've always been infatuated with the looks of the mustang. My dream car for as long as I could remember.
+subaruwrxfan is your Ecoboost the Ford 2.0t equivalent? Which is lighter? Camaro or Mustang?
+Mason Criner stang has a lighter curb weight
+Jake Pieper Wrong, the Camaro is 200lbs lighter than the Mustang Ecoboost
10:54 The shift delay with the paddles is terrible compared to the ZF 8-speed that Dodge uses.
+lfsracer79 who cares? It's a slush box. They are all shit for performance.
J C Well both the ZF and the GM automatic are quicker than manuals in drag racing.
+lfsracer79 drag racing is dead.
4 cylinder in american muscle just ain't right.
Even a 6 cylinder isn't right haha
That's why you can still get the V8 option
What if I told you the very first Camaro was an I-6
+Javaris James "Laptops just ain't right. We should only be using typewriters!" "muh feels" "muh noises" "muh purity."
I will never understand this logic...
+B3rkl3y they've had six cylinders in muscle cars for a LONG time
Hey Matt why couldn’t they just use a 2.0 L Twin Turbo setup?
Nice car, love my "base" Mustang
+MCKOOKIE Refreshing to see someone who can appreciate both.
Nicholas Kjernisted If i didnt love the new Mustang so much id be driving a new V6 RS, i both and Challengers are awesome to me.
thank you for reviewing the camaro that everyone is buying
What's a muscle car doing with a little 2.0L turbo?
+johnny O. everybody is trying to do fuel economy nowadays.
DeeBo
They are trying to get a bigger crowd interested in the car.
*****
Also to add they have to build I4 and v6 muscle cars nowadays. Car manufactures have to meet a certain mpg average for their whole line up. So, for every 2 or 3 people that buy a v6 or i4 they allow your v8 to be made.
Thank you DODGE for not giving a crap about mpg.
Trenton Nevin and reliability
which sounded meaner and burly. his voice or that 4 banger? i cant decide
haha
I feel like the first part of your reviews are the foreplay to the first acceleration run.
nice review! hopefully you get the review one of the big boys. zl1 or ss
+Edgar Roldan thanks! hoping to do a ZL1 once they're available. Already did the SS.
+subaruwrxfan great review Matt!
subaruwrxfan damn didnt notice. Ima go check it out!
He already reviewed an SS. Look it up. 😎
+subaruwrxfan After the Renegade review, you can review another Camaro, like the 1LE models, if you have the chance. 🙂 Other cars you review as requested or not should make you keep up the great work. I LOVE IT! 😎
love the chin splitter
4 cylinder Camaro, Most expensive way to come out of the closet
😂😂😂
+Stealth HoneyBadger V8's, even more expensive way to compensate for small packages.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
mysock351C The funny thing is that since this is the baseline Camaro you should expect more "17 yr old girl's" driving these as well.
I see them all the time in current models already.
***** Same difference.
Thanks for the look under the hood. Feel free to spend more time there on all of your future reviews. Best regards.
And here I thought the 2.0L Turbo Camaro was weak. 295lbft torque ain't bad.. 15lbft more than the base Mustang. Torque is speed while horsepower is stamina, so the base Mustang will beat this thing up a hill. Still pretty impressive.
wrong, torque is acceleration while horsepower is speed. there is a difference between being fast and being quick
Great Video Subaruwrxfan is there any way you can do a video on the dodge challenger 15 or 16 sxt v6 Challengers ?
I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want my muscle car to sound like a vacuum cleaner.
Mr. Clean likes his cars to sound like a vacuum cleaner.
I dont get all the people who complain about "sitting low" or having to "look over" the dash. Do you guys not realize that the seats are adjustable? My girl is 5'8 amd she has no problem whatsoever with the drivers seat
That guy was probably about 5'6" tall. A guy 6' tall wouldn't complain. These are big boy cars lol.
4 Cylinder engine and Camaro doesn't belong in the same sentence.
Great memories. I remember having a 2016 Camaro RS V4. Now I traded it in for a 2018 Camaro 2ss(V8).
Nobody makes a v4 lol figure it out hahaha
Chuck Sedore shows you’re stupidity lmao Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro both make a V4
Nope. I-4 man ut go ahead and project your stupidity onto me asshole
Silent Shooter they are I-4's. Go ahead and project your stupidity on me though.
Must have been the legebdary Ducati Camaro V4
Normal camaros? Aren't they all camaros, just different engines? lol
I wish you released videos more often, I watch them like they are tv shows lol and I've already watch all the episodes
My next car!!!!!
Back at it again with a nice car review. 👌👌
Visibility is awful. You feel like you are riding in a tank looking out through a tiny slit.
+Shane Broussard You only really need to see what is in front of you.
+Shane Broussard Looks amazing compared to your old ass outdated Pontiac , hahaha
+Gucci Mane shots fired lmao
Interesting to see the muscle cars going with small engine for hp and mpg, sounds like the Camaro might need a adjustments done on acieration response system ,not Shure what area of the acceleration response system might be the cause of the acceleration lag (dead spot) but you should have the car dealership check it out for a better understand and be covered under warranty.
a 4 banger in a camaro?!😰
+IScoreUnderPressure4 4 banger with only 7 inches!
with the 7speed version of this transmission being in the aftermarket and in the Corvette you would think for only $800 more they'd offer it saving you a second off your 1/4 mile by changing the final drive gear and wouldn't touch you MPG
Not bad, as fast as the '95 Z28
+Thomas Kimble i have a 1996 Z28 which has the LT1, it's 10 more hp then the '95 z28. i know my car has some punch left in it, i bet that the old school LT1 will still beat it out on top end. one category these new 4 cylinder turbos will never beat it in, exhaust note. the LT1 is still very pleasing to the ear. it sounds awesome. you cant really argue with the bargin of the LT1 4th gens, they still offer really good performance for around $4k. oh, and the t tops havent been an option since 2002. t tops rock
i do love my 1996 Z28
Thanks for the great reviews on the different Camaro trims available. But this is where I'm curious: If you put regular fuel in the 4-cylinder turbo, how does the torque compare to the V6 version? Also, how long will the turbo survive on regular before you need to go premium with it?
AzuMentch36 . Never put regular gas on a turbo engine. Turbo cars now these days are for higher grade of gas. Plus the engine won't perform the way it was ment to.
4 cylinder? A camaro Turbo? Automatic only?
+Carlitox b Manual trans is standard equipment. Automatic is optional.
Let's check out this back road here... Plants foot down... Whoa this thing is fast
Well thats emasculating, 2.0L in a Camaro.
LOL
+vyso Yet will out accelerate any fuel injected Camaro from 1992 on back and is only a tenth or so 0-60 behind the 92-97 LT1 and 98-02 LS1 F bodies. Lotsa potential in that 2.0, but the LT4 in the GEN 6 ZL1 will be so much better.
+hoghogwild buddy...that 2.0 turbo is NOWHERE near an LS1 F body
+Drew H GM published 5.2seconds 0-60 times for the 1998 LS1 Camaro. The 1/4 miles times/speeds wouldn't be close.
