Yes ESP!.... I agree fully! .... there is place in the hobby for all types of building materials .... I've built a few very pretty PSS models out of correx as well..... doesn't need to replace any other materials, just adds to the options. Yes, South Africa is very similar to Australia in many ways. 😊
I cut my teeth slope soaring over the cliffs near Torrey Pines in San Diego. I was a poor college kid that could barely afford a Goldberg "Gentle Lady" and repurposed my Futaba 2 channel RC car pistol grip RX/TX system. I remember those days fondly! This video is excellent!!! Although I have one comment- isn't it kind of cheating to add ailerons for slope soaring????
Howzit John! 😊 ..... I started pretty much the same way ..... re purposed an electric Monster Truck electronics and remote. To fly Torrey Pines one day is my dream!! Rudder and Elevator work fine for Soaring, but for PSS or Slope Aerobatics you need more authority. Thank you. Appreciated. 😊
@@seanoelofse007 Hello Sean ...I think elliptical wing planforms are ideal for reducing induced drag. I have therefore built gliders with this specification, but without a fuselage and tail unit, but only with a vertical fin within the wing plan .... even such rather minimalistic airplanes fly quite well ... greetings from Vienna ... I'm impressed with the smooth air, no chop, no rotor. It can be hard to find slopes with good air like that.
