Easy to know who the sickest is…the mother who cheated on her husband, got her daughter involved in a murder scheme on the heels of her own affair. One bad apple spoils the bunch. One rotten mother took down her own family and two others. And I’m sure they made the blackmailers sound far worse and themselves better…but the dead don’t get to tell their story, right?

He can be both things. People are complex and rarely two-dimensional. He might've been kind and compassionate with his friends/family. The operator probably heard the guy’s name and didn’t want to cooperate. It happens often to Muslims just because people are islamophobic. Overall, the situation and everyone involved are terrible.

These dispatchers should NOT be allowed to treat any call like this. It's their job to get facts and send help, not argue over details like if the phone is charged or whether or not they personally believe someone is in danger.
The amount of times I've heard these emergency calls where the operator sarcastically talks back, hangs up, dismisses someone, argues with them, or claims it's a prank when there is obvious distress is TOO HIGH and they should be held accountable imo.

Absolutely ! They didn't do their job properly at all
typically during 999 calls the operator will stay on the phone after police/paramedics have been dispatched in order to keep the victim calm and advise them on what to do in that situation (instructing on how to do CPR, etc). the questions often seem irrelevant and it is extremely frustrating as a caller but there isn’t much the operator can do after sending help. also, calls are recorded and can therefore provide important evidence/additional information if emergency services are too late.
It’s absolutely insane to me that some people think the only way to “save their image” or “keep their perfect family” is to murder people. Because that TOTALLY will save your image and family relationships…. 🤦🏻♀️

I guess murder might save their image and allow them to keep their perfect family if they didn’t get caught, and we will never know how many people are out there who that worked for. I'm conflicted on him, but I feel so bad for his friend. He really had done nothing wrong and got killed for wanting to help his friend who knowingly involved him in a risky situation, just because he didn't want to drive himself.

Gets her daughter and 5 others sent to prison, and breaks up her family. Instead of going to the police when the teenager threatens her with revenge porn, she enlists her daughter to murder. Absolutely disgusting. Her values are misplaced. And Poor Hashim. Completely innocent bystander loses his life. A grown ass woman would rather all these young people lose their lives than her lose face.

Dying doesn't automatically make you a good person in life. We need to be honest about it. This abusive individual, just like the others involved in this crime (excluding Hashim), were not necessarily honorable human beings. It's offensive to use positive terms to describe someone who harassed, blackmailed, and abused, with the intention of making the audience feel compassion for such a person.

I was stalked for 8 years and no-one would/could help. It's a living nightmare. Why didn't the stalker tell the emergency services why they were chasing him? That he was just trying to collect blackmail money in an empty parking lot?

Dispatchers have to be the worse people in most of these stories.
He didn't deserve to be murdered, but I think MORE emphasis needs to be on how he seemingly stalked/followed prior to the affair, screenshot & saved explicit photos without consent, blackmailed a person with said explicit photos threatening to made them PUBLIC to get a relationship. This is beyond the murderers wanting to "save their image". He threatened to make nude pics go viral. He was abusive.
Going beyond this case, there are cases out there that even when victims called the cops on such threats, the cops either ignored, slut shame the victim, or took insufficient actions and gave the perpetrator time to actually post the pics.

THIS. My mum had an abusive partner for years and even when he tried to kill her and my baby brother, the police did nothing at all. When called they literally said "We don't have time for that. If you want to feel safe, go get a gun" 🙄

I think there’s a lot of context needed in this case. I’m in the US and I was stalked by a former friend who wanted more and he attacked me. I had evidence galore and they did nothing. The police just said they couldn’t help me. For quite a while I slept with a shotgun by my bed because I would call the police and say he was at my house and I was afraid and they wouldn’t come. Then my ex stalked me for several years after I left. Again, no help. I’m not saying murder is ok, but I’ve been in the place where I was prepared to do whatever it took to save my own life. The number of calls and the context of those calls from the “victim” is extremely telling.

It's infuriating that ppl are downplaying his blackmail, revenge prn, stalking and harassment. Sure he didn't deserve to get k!ll because of it, and both the mom and daughter deserved to be locked up in jail for what they did, but what he did is also 100% wrong, there's no way to justify it. I just hope that you put more emphasis on how bad his behavior was, that's all i want. This video put a bad taste in my mouth since i've been harassed and stalked by my ex and i couldn't do anything bc in my country the police and ppl around me don't see stalking as a serious problem, i felt so helpless at that time, but fortunately i got lucky bc i guess he got bored and he finally left me alone. Saying his behavior was a "little odd" is undermining his criminal and gross actions, true. Most people agree and the comment section are talking about the seriousness of his actions, but I think is not more mentioned in the video because he is already dead so there's nothing that the justice system can do(not that they do something about it when it comes to victims, unfortunately). So the news and yt videos are focusing more in what is happening rn and on the people who are still breathing.
Also the title of this video is ridiculous. They weren't just trying to 'save their online image/career'. This may seem insensitive, but idgaf if some stalker/blackmailer is dead. Saqib got what was coming to him, he clearly had a pattern of behavior before Ansreen. Yes, he's dead, but someone like that shouldn't be remembered as a good person. I don't doubt that he was good to his family and friends, but that was because he didn't see them as lowly, like the women he targetted.
Honestly im feeling for Hashim because honestly he had no involvement in the whole ordeal, he was just helping a friend and that cost him his life; condolences to the family. Thanks Stephanie and team for this episode.

Hi your absolutely are right I'm from UK. All the ladies had to do was report it to the police. The police would have arrested Saqib for blackmailing. It's awful 2 life's were taken. Here in the UK I live in a different city. But where these ladies are from people want them to be released. How awful is that. But they are not getting out anytime soon. The mom got 21 years and the daughter got 23 years in jail.
@@bubbles5599 there's also a cultural issue too. Even if she went to the police, the husband would have found out. She could lie all she wanted but there's still the shame seen in the community. I'm not saying all Desi people are like this, but it is common in some communities. Women who don't want to marry someone or who have a boyfriend are killed out of "honor." The wife and daughter could have faced that. It doesn't excuse what they did but that's most likely why they did it. I'm also not saying the husband would for sure do that but he could have. An "accident" could be arranged for them. Just how easily the daughter got a group of people to take out the guy, that could happen to them. Again, not excusing their behavior, just explaining. I've seen reports of girls killed because they spoke out against someone assaulting them. Nothing happened to the man and her own family set her on fire. It's not apart of any religion and it's not exclusive to any culture.

Caring, kind, and compassionate does not accurately describe someone who stalked, abused, and blackmailed. Those actions were not “a little odd” Stephanie. You have to also take into account the mother is someone who lives in a conservative house surrounded by a conservative community. She was married off at a young age to someone she likely didn’t know and had to start having babies. I’m not saying affairs are ok at all. I am saying context is needed. There is a lot of stigma in more conservative communities and having the revenge porn released wouldn’t just mean the end of her marriage, but possibly the end of her entire social structure. The “victim” wasn’t a good person. That’s black and white I’m sorry. He didn’t deserve to die, but I’ve been on the other end of a stalker’s obsession. Police often don’t do much. I was convinced he would eventually kill me and I’m still as anonymous as possible online just so he doesn’t suddenly remember I exist enough to start stalking me again. I agree. Describing the stalker's actions as "a little odd" is vastly and almost insultingly making light of his actions. While I'm not saying that he needed to die for his actions, time and again, police have been shown to be next to useless in helping the victim of stalkers and the legal system is ill equipped to protect the poor men and women that are victims of this type of crime. It's not as black and white as Stephanie is making it out to be.

Hard agree, that was an odd take. In the community they live in, where obviously everyone thought jumping someone to teach them a lesson is a perfectly reasonable thing to do on a random weekend, you don't know what the consequences for the mom from this blackmailing would have been. From some incidents in the Muslim community in my country and the group around her that we know of, she might have had legitimate fears for her own life and safety.
Of course, you shouldn't murder someone or have extramarital affairs, but this might have been a situation that is hard to understand for someone who wasn't part of this group or ever in such a situation.
My cousin had a dangerous stalker once, and we all took turns staying with her until he was put into jail, which was a long time. I am glad we live in a community where we were able to talk about it openly, he was just her obsessed neighbour with whom she had coffee one time, but if he had attacked her again and I was there, I don't know if I wouldn't have given him a less than gentle bump with my car.
I just feel bad for Hasheem. Like the rest of the people are anywhere from "kinda' twisted" to "what the heck is going on with them???" But it didn't seem like Hashim did anything particularly wrong, and cannabis can be used for more than just recreational properties, oh, and the son. His experience must have been terrifying considering he didn't know what the heck was happening.

Having an affair if you’re in an arranged marriage isn’t as bad as having an affair in a normal marriage where you’re cheating on someone that you chose. If you want someone to marry you without even meeting you first and not even knowing if you’re compatible or not, I think you’re lying to yourself if you really expect NOT to get cheated on. She was a young girl who didn’t get the chance to be a young adult when she was one. And they didn’t choose each other so they don’t owe each other anything in that sense. They do owe each other honesty just because of how entangled their lives are, especially after having kids together. But you can’t be offended at getting cheated on in an arranged marriage to the same extent that you’d be offended at getting cheated on by someone who fell in love with you and chose to be with you.

Not condoning Saqib's actions but I am surprised how many comments are basically blaming him more than anyone else involved? The Mother was stringing him along! ie; going to finally break it off with him & instead has relations with him AGAIN. He was an 18 yr old Kid. To me the most blame should be on the 44yr old experienced Mother!
People saying him threatening her was the “consequences” of the mother’s actions feels icky. Like in no way it’s normal for someone to post someone else’s nudes even in this situation. It’s someone’s privacy. You can tell the husband without threatening to show her naked body to the public. @@7ccs350 There was more than just one video. And I’m sure a lot of the evidence he had was NOT consensual. He literally had screenshots of FaceTime calls. He probably didn’t ask to take those. Also, I don’t know why you’re pointing out his age like an 18 year old doesn’t know right from wrong. S*x crimes are evil regardless of age. If he would have gone to court, he would have been considered a s*x offender. I just think it’s funny how when he was the bad guy it was all fun and games, but when his victim struck back, it wasn’t fun anymore.

All of them should be acquitted. Decisive is, that this man, Sakib, had more than one blackmail affair. This suggests that he was systematic in this behavior. As for the mother and daughter I think that they wanted to be sure that the treats stopped and wanted to show that they had some sort of "force" to beat him up and, perhaps to get the phone with the pictures. That was their purpose of the "meeting". When he saw that his blackmail would get witnesses he wanted to run away. The car chase was a simple cause of the events. Since the driver was on drugs he may have made the fatal mistake, unless you can prove that the blue car hit him in a way that shows the intention of killing the passengers (which I doubt). In a worst case scenario only the driver of the blue car can be hold responsible, not the passengers nor the second car. I even think that the words "let me show what I will do to you" CONFIRMS this scenario.
PS: there was a Danish case 150 years ago with a similar development: it started out as a planned and intended "interrogation" with the purpose to stop blackmail and theft by a family crime gang, but ended up with all the criminals being killed. The people who did it are considered HEROES even today.
