@@user-ml4ut6bv1ytbh I was very drunk a few occasions but I never got behind the wheel. This is Germany where kids are allowed to drink beer and wine at 16… but are able to drive without an adult at 18. Maybe that’s why… learned how to hold my liquor without being able to drive at all Knowing how stupid I am drunk before driving But I’m not sure. We have many drunk drivers here too. Often they’re suicidal men heading down a highway the wrong way…
The infuriating thing is that the people that need to hear this message are also the ones that are utterly incapable of grasping the idea. They will look at you with genuine confusion and say "B-b-but...we're trying to bail her out! That makes us GOOD parents! Of course we know how to raise a baby decently. We've protected her from all those ugly consequences that the mean, mean people in the world have tried to hold her to. That's the one and only goal of parenting, isn't it? Making sure your baby is always happy and always gets what she wants?"
Due to the passing of a classmate a law was passed in my state where the penalty for drunk drivers can face up to 20 years in prison and 30 years for subsequent convictions. This law should be widespread.
I have very little pity with cases like this. A drunk driver killed a friend of mine at 6pm- daylight about 1/2 mile from her house. The accident was so close to the home that the family ran up the street after hearing the crash. The driver got about 6 years in jail even though it wasn't his first arrest for this. We all lost a wonderful friend.
This woman only has 3 or 4 months of prison meanwhile she killed a firemen and a lovely wife was over the legal amount of intoxication she lied about what happened and she’s thriving off of daddy’s bank
How there's still people on her instagram defending her actions absolutely baffles me. In times of Uber, taxis, calling friends or family to pick you up or sleepover, where all of these options exist 24/7, there is absolutely zero excuses for drunk driving. NONE.
The problem is that we can see from her conversations that even when she's cold sober she still has no concern whatsoever for how her actions affect other people, even to the point of killing someone. Combine that with the fact that she expects her family to keep her from having to face any consequences, and we can see why she didn't see any need to control her actions. It wasn't that she thought it would be too much effort or would put a damper on her fun. For someone like her it's simply that the thought of her acting more responsibly never entered her mind. It would be kike the idea of her walking around a restaurant before leaving to make sure all of the chairs are pushed back under the tables. It's not something that would be difficult to do, but the thought that she ought to would not occur to her, and she'd just roll her eyes at you if you suggested that she should. It's the reason that people this self-centered can be just as dangerous as those that intentionally go out and try to hurt people. Even after the damage is done they don't even see the need to do anything to change their behavior.
I'm also of the firm belief that if you can't afford a taxi/uber home then you most definitely have no business being at a bar/club/pub. Heck even if you still just wanted to drink for the enjoyment buy some and have it at home, it would be much MUCH cheap and so much safer for everyone. Also before ever stepping into any bar/club/pub have a firm budget in mind, don't go spending what was set aside for transport on more drinks and if you've reached that level of reckless behavior it means it's time to go home.
@@101falconidk… I’m broke but still go out with my friends but I make damn sure I walk home before ever getting into a friends car or my car if we are all drinking. We all make sure there is a way to get home. Even us broke asses know how to be safe. So there really is no excuse.
So update: Jamie is under house arrest. They weren't able to get a trial before March 1st, 2024, so she's home. After "being granted bail with strict restrictions." She gets to go home while Samantha's family or new husband will never have Samantha come home again.

What’s so crazy to me is about how this girl kept asking for her boyfriend and for him to be there for her when she just killed somebody’s whole WIFE and it’s completely unfair..
She wants to see her boyfriend and cat, meanwhile this man's wife is dead, their cat will grow up motherless. She's worried about hot dog buns, Sam's sister didn't even get the chance to ask if they liked the wedding cake. Jaime has main character syndrome turned all the way up.
I’m a recovering alcoholic who got behind the wheel and rear-ended someone else. Luckily we both walked away with minor cuts and bruises, and I was initially charged with a felony. NEVER did I EVER wonder “why me?” or wonder why THIS was happening TO ME. All I felt was guilt for traumatizing the person I rear-ended and others on the road, all I could think about was how easily I could have killed her and how horrifying it must have been for her family members to hear their loved one was in a crash. I got extremely lucky in my case, luckier than I deserved. When someone tried to comfort me telling me I made a mistake, my response was always, “No, I made a decision.” I thank my lucky stars every day that no one got seriously hurt or worse. No, Jamie. This isn’t happening to you. YOU are what happened. Learn some fucking empathy and accountability.
Quick case update: The husband recieved a settlement from 2 bars Jamie was drinking at. Also, she has been indicted for 1 count of reckless vehicular homicide and 3 counts of driving under the influence causing death or great bodily injury. Each with up to 25 years in prison.
For real, like it would be different if it was golf cart on a 40+ mph road, but it was literally a 25mph residential road, if she didnt hit the cart she could have hit someone else
@@sw4gbunni100unfortunately this will be the deciding factor of the trial, and she’ll get of close to Scott free, likely under 5 years. Completely illegal, no number plates or seatbelts, defence lawyer will have a field day. Such a tragedy.
I ain't defending this spoilt shit but I did think that, objectively, I wondered why a golf cart was traveling on a public road with other vehicles... like I said, not defending but is that normal? I'm sure it's illegal to drive those on any public roads in my country regardless of the speed limit
@@Theoreticallyyou1234No it's not illegal in SC. Golf carts are allowed on residential roads, such as in a neighborhoo, as long as the speed limit isn't over 35mph.
My uncle was cut in half by a drunk driver while he was on the side of the road changing a spare tire on his truck. He left behind a wife and two very very young kids. The driver (mid 20s) was so full of guilt that he killed himself in his jail cell before the trial ended. He left behind a very distraught mother and siblings. I wish the driver didn’t end his life. My uncles death was enough. Please don’t drink and drive. It ruins so many lives.
My husband's dad was also killed by a drunk driver - he was driving home from work when a drunk guy hit him in a head-on collision. They both died. His body was in such a bad shape, that my mother in law's brother was the one to identify it, as he wanted to spare her the trauma of seeing it. My husband was only 3 years old then, so he barely even remembers his dad. It's so sad and infuriating at the same time.
Mother of the bride is a P.O.S. herself suing her son-in-law saying the marriage is not legit because they didn't consummate the marriage that night and wants all the settlement and life insurance money for herself. My heart breaks for the son in law
I looked for an update and it looks like she’s out after her $150k bond was posted, she’s now on house arrest with the ankle monitor. They’re still waiting for a trial date….
I believe it's related to the right against illegal search and seizure. It's protected some innocent people from being charged for drunk driving, such as if people get pulled over for a broken tail light and they had just used mouthwash. There are a number of things that can cause a false-positive during a breath test, so a blood test is more reliable. It's also hard to give a breath test to someone who refuses to give one. But I bet it didn't take very long to get the warrant to get the blood test.
In mY case he did. And they had to get a warrent. 5 hours later he showed alchol at o.6 meaning he was 11 at the time he crashed into my son killing him.
Police don't need a sobriety test to detain someone for DWI. The sobriety test can show to what degree someone is intoxicated but refusing the test doesn't mean they go free. You can't force someone to blow into it, you need their cooperation. If the person won't do it right, the test won't work. And they can't analyze blood in the car.
It looks like she never took accountability on anything she had done in her life and I bet it's due to her enabling parents. I don't only blame Jamie but her parents also, her parents saying that she did nothing wrong it was an accident like are you for real she was drinking and driving under the influence no one put a gun to her head and told her to drink and drive she choose to do these things. The fact that she had four traffic violations and prior the the accident she had gotten in trouble for not signaling when turning she defiantly need to face the consequences of her action.
She is such a whiny brat. She's like a child throwing a tantrum because their ice cream fell on the floor. The fact that her parents are babying her and enabling this reaction is beyond me. You chose to drink and drive. "Why me?" Because you made a really stupid decision. You didn't know your limitations. You didn't even care. You didn't care about your safety or anyone else's. Even after she got out of her drunken stupor and realized she killed a person and injured 3 others....no remorse. She is a selfish mean brat who can't take accountability. Can't even show respect to the victim's family. Instead she thinks the world is out to get her. No you made a stupid mistake. This is what happens when you make dumb decisions like drinking and driving. She should have known better. You drink. You don't drive. Period. You call an uber or your parents or your bf you were begging for. So self centered. No remorse is what really makes my blood boil. I feel so bad for Sam and her family. The best night instantly becomes the worse. Heartbreaking
She acts like a toddler and never learned frustration tolerance, which is key for growing mature. Children usually start learning frustration tolerance during their toddler years and with about 8 - 9 years, they have usually completed learning this if raised in a healthy manner. She seems to be totally stuck in the age of a 3 - 5 year old, while having the opportunity to do things like a mature adult. Her parents are feeding her this delusional mindset. While some people may perceive the parents' role here as overly loving and caring for their daughter, it must be understood completely different in my opinion: the parents totally failed raising her to be a critical, self reflecting, contious, mature adult. By telling her "bad things happen to good people" they are also soothing themselves and expressing their own innocence although their education on ethics and their methods of raising their daughter practically caused her to stay psychologically in this delusional and self-centered state that only applies to a toddler by nature. I have a bunch of sons, meanwhile all adults, so I know what trouble some kids may sometimes cause while growing up. It's the duty of the parents to teach the kids to gain insight in their wrongdoings and to teach them how to then solve the matter in a self-responsible way. Concerning alcohol... She seems to be what is called a "functioning alcoholic". She also was bar hopping and not binge drinking at only one bar. So she probably wasn't even perceived as drunk upon arrival and only had two or three drinks at every bar she visited. Bartenders and other staff only see and acknowledge the guests before the last drink they order. So if she didn't stumble around and could talk straight, which is always hard to check on in noisy environments like some bars are, then the staff wouldn't even have noticed her as being drunk. She probably either paid with cash and left a good tip or she paid with credit card, so the staff also couldn't have noticed her struggle with numbers, like maybe a shop owner would have. I don't really see the bars and their staff as being responsible for her evil actions. She decided to drink and drive beforehand. She could have gotten a taxi on her way to the bars and on her way home. She knew she was going to a bar to drink, so why take the car along? I always plan my transport when going out beforehand, and I have done so since I got my license. I also often was the driver for my friends and therefore was the one to stay sober and drive. If nobody wanted to drive, we had other means of transport. So there are many ways to not drink and drive. And if drinking and driving were a major part of being an alcoholic, then many more people would drive drunken and many more accidents would happen. No, you don't have to be a reckless drunken driver just because you are addicted to alcohol!!! As she has no insight in her bad choices and actions that resulted in her being a missile of pure evil that night, she shouldn't be allowed to go free soon and also she should be forced by all legal means to not consume drugs. In addition, her drivers license must be taken away. She in fact is a risk to her environment. And as long as she does not recognize that, she will keep on being a missile ready for take-off. In detention center she only had her screaming fits, but they are only substitutes. Outside of detention center or environment with limited access, she will probably drink, do drugs, and drive in addition to screaming fits. I also have this gut feeling that mom may have a drinking problem as well and her killing that firefighter on the street may also have happened with intoxication. I don't think it's hard to get control over the blood results of a lab if you can also have a sheriff doing you favors. I don't know of course, but something doesn't seem right. The firefighter's family may have more information on this. Anyhow, mom was her roll model, that we also shouldn't forget. Mom got away with 100,000 $ for taking one life. They probably used this figure for calculating the costs for their daughter's killing and injuring people. Probably dad tries to get things settled with about 200k to 250,000 $ for his daughter now. He does seem like he has this going on in his mind. Also him stopping her from talking more about the sheriff's help, literally showed that he is involved behind the scenes. I don't think that's legal, so this must be looked into as well. I the old days in Germanic culture one would have to compensate the loss of the family. In this case, it would mean that they would literally have to hand over all their belongings and themselves to the bride's family and the killer daughter would be marked and sent off in the woods, excluded for life from all society. The bride was the only daughter to her parents and didn't have children yet to pass on their blood to the next generation. The husband has been taken the chance to live his life with his beloved wife, and also did not have children with her to establish future generations. Life was a very precious good to our ancestors and only since the industrial revolution has materialistic stuff become more important than life itself. This is wrong because it opposes nature. This beautiful couple was killed, both of them. The husband can't even think back to his happiest day in life because it also was the day of his wife's murder. A wonderful family had been killed by this evil, self-centered and artificial person, who does not even value life after she has *destroyed* so many lives and killed a wonderful human being. I would like to see in detail how this case evolves and how things go from now on. Thank you again for the good coverage of a crime, although I found it this time a little distracting when you talked in detail about this bride and the perfect shot with the golf cart in the beginning. At first I thought this video was about her and only understood when the accident happened, that this was yet another bride. 😮 Thank you for your efforts and time. 🙏🏻 Cheers from Germany 🇩🇪 🍻

As a newlywed, I cried and hugged my husband really tight after listening to this story. I can't even imagine losing him let alone the night of our wedding.
Congratulations! I'm hoping to get engaged to my partner soon and listening to this absolutely broke my heart, I can't imagine anything much more tragic than losing someone you JUST committed to spend your life with. Heartbreaking!
Congratulations to you both. I heard this story right before my wedding and also hugged my wife tightly. I couldn’t even imagine losing her. I wish you guys the best and a healthy life together.
Just saw a news article that the brides mom is now suing the husband for the financial compensation he received from the bars, claiming the marriage wasn’t valid because it was not consummated. Which is wild to me. And such an offense to the husband. A claim that the love of his life was not his wife. And now that’s gonna be remembered as part of her case instead of the needless death. Rip Samantha 🕊️
I am sad for the mother's lost, but she had a go fund me and the mother didn't pay for the funeral. fame and $$ went in her head. Milking someone's death is sick
She's basically saying their marriage wasn't real because the wife was tragically killed before they actually had their wedding night which is basically trying to punish HIM and invalidate the last action and decision of her own daughter (getting married to the man) at no fault of his own. I don't understand how she can be so callous.
Wait, the groom's MIL, the mother of the bride, is suing HIM after her daughter was killed by a drunk woman? What, did she want them to immediately start ripping off clothes and consumate on the podium floor just in case a drunk woman kills them all on the way home? Shouldn't she be suing the drunk woman for preventing that? I feel terrible for the husband, but I also can't help but be relieved that he won't have to deal with that level of crazy (much) when this is all over with.
There’s a saying in Swahili that goes “Asiye funzwa na mamaye hufunzwa na ulimwengu” directly translates to if you’re not taught by your mom, the world will teach you a lesson. This was a heartbreaking case, I hope the family can learn to cope with this tragedy and may Samantha’s beautiful soul rest in peace.
As a former bartender those bars should definitely be liable too. Her BAC was crazy high!! When you see someone getting sloshed you always ask how they are getting home. Yes, they can lie. Ive cut plenty of people off who get ao mad they want to fight. It doesnt matter. This is what happens when you over serve and over drink. Jamie is a disgusting person and needs to be finally held accountable for her actions.
A former bartender here too. We literally NEED to get licensed to even pour drinks, and the course specifically even says we need to count drinks on some patrons who display major intoxicated cues. We need to even take away car keys if necessary. I never had to do it, since I served at the hotel bistro, so most of the people that get drunk at our bar just go upstairs and pass out.
yup! previous bartender & server here! i’ve also hosted and still had to intervene i always called a cab even if they had a car there with them if no one was sober enough to drive (literally like had more than one drink and not a shot a DRINK) then i’d call a cab & the manager would let them leave their car overnight and come back for it the next day (usually the owner/manager of places are what call tow trucks for cars overnight so you have to get their approval)
I was both a retail cashier and a gas station clerk who has denied alcohol sales to people who show signs of intoxication, slurring, balance, and breath. 50/50 on the understanding vs the crazed. We have even called the police on people who clearly drove to the gas station drunk. One of us would pretend to run the trash out and get the plate number after verifying the drunk is in the driver seat.
That's what I was thinking. She must be a pretty experienced drinker to even be forming sentences or standing with a BAC that high. At that point its not the bartenders fault sometimes its hard to tell when someone is blacked out if they are alcoholics. That BAC is scary even to me and I drink quite a bit unfortunately. @@rachelforshee6014

The audacity of her saying golf carts shouldn’t be allowed on the road. Well, also drunk people shouldn’t be allowed to drive. And yet. Such a horrible and chilling tragedy, this is heartbreaking.

I remember reading this on ig i thought this was bs the story because this story so painful its hard for me to believe it still but the fact she’s covering it makes this story surreal. I can’t imagine the hurt for the family and her husband involved….
This case hit harder for me due to the fact that my boyfriend (21 y/o) was killed by a reckless driver just over a month ago. Of course the kid that hit him is claiming he was scared for his life because my boyfriend and his friends were riding motorcycles. How does that defense even make sense? I don’t know, but the victim complex reaches far. The sheer audacity to kill another person and then make it about yourself is so disgusting. I’m so disturbed by the driver that killed my boyfriend and I hope we get justice in the upcoming trial.

The fact that her alcohol levels test still came out 3x higher than the legal limit HOURS AFTER the accident, considering they still need to wait for the warrant, etc., says a lot. The entitlement also obviously came from her parents babying her so much. All the whining, like she did not decide to get shitfaced drunk, went behind the wheel and DROVE.
It maybe went down. They do the math. From the hours past. The drunk driver thst killed my son. Denied it they had to get a warrent. 5 hours later it was 0.6. With tbe math done at the time of the tradigy he was at 1.1. Over the limit and not well to drive. The man died 10 days later. I am glad I don't have to see my sons killer in court. Apprently this man had a rep to show up drunk to work. My son got killed at 6.55am in the morning. 2.0 it's extremely high double . I feel bad for the victims family.
The bride’s mother is a monster. She is trying to deny the husband’s right to the brides estate and refers to her by her maiden name bc the marriage certificate wasn’t filed yet. I think he settled with her to split the bride’s assets- even though they had already lived together and had intertwined finances. Greedy mother in law
Its awful because she feels no guilt or remorse. Shes only caring about herself. And its natural to start hating for the acting of hers - its shows how helpless we are against actions that egomaniacs like her cause. And that is why we need a justice system...
I think cars should require a breath test to work for everyone and it gets saved in the black box. Addiction isn't all that rational and society just needs a better solution to this than just punishment. I saw a man kill a family driving a trunk drunk. Apparently his third time drunk driving, but he didn't even have a license anymore. If all vehicles couldn't start without a clear breathalyzer I think this would help.
I am not defending Jamie. I think her accountability is despicable. I do agree golf carts should share roads with cars driving above 10 km an hour with speed bumps. road and city design is i portant assuming that "prison sentences" never solved drunk driving.
The thing that sickens me the most, is that they advocate for her to not to apologize to them, because it's an admission of guilt, and that hurts the court case, and negates the money they've spent on their expensive attorney. They aren't even parents that save the day. They're just parents that pay expensive janitors.
@@cleanserene6330She sounds about 15 years old. It's sad for her that she's been babied her whole life and not taught about responsibility. I agree that it's terrifying to think that she could wind up back out on the road not having changed her ways.

I hold it with alcohol and driving the same way my mom does: Even with just a sip of alcohol in the system, we do not get behind the wheel. With just a sip you are still very much in the legal limit, but if anything happens, we would question if it would have happened sober too.
If you're an alcoholic just sell your car. It's what I did. I've never drunk driven but I thought about it. And the day I thought about it - sold the car within the same week. Destroying my life is one thing but putting others in danger, no way. Even after I quit drinking, sober for 3 years, I didn't buy a new one, just in case.
Great insight and very responsible. I often thought the something similar, that after a second DUI or a first DUI with an injury, people should only be allowed to drive a motorcycle.
I have a friend who has been through some things. They did he same when they went into rehab, but now they are sober, they have a device that they have to blow into before the car starts. They don't drink+drive, but if they ever get behind the wheel with ANY amount of alcohol on their breath, the car won't start regardless of the amount of alcohol: legal limit or not.
This isn’t always possible depending on where you live. I live in Memphis. Yes there is a bus service- it does not run on Sunday and the schedule is more of a loose set of guidelines- using ride share is like 20-40$ both ways.
This girl has never faced any consequences in her life. It's disgusting how casual she seems about the entire situation. She was responsible for the death of someone. She nearly killed three other people. How can you not feel any remorse? It's insane how people can act like this after committing an atrocity.
She's a direct byproduct of her parents coddling her too much. The act in itself is gutrenching, but her complete lack of remorse or care for anyone but herself is even more sickening.
@@nickpavia9021How you are raised absolutely has a massive impact on who you turn out to be. Parents don't like to hear it, but bad parenting results in bad people.

I'm struggling with alcoholism. I do have a driver's license but no car because I'm too scared I might ever do something horrible when in a drunk stupor. I usually lock myself up in my apartment when I'm having a rough night. Keeps me (and most importantly everyone else) safe. I don't understand people who would drive something as potentially dangerous as a car when drunk.
I'm from the area. Well, Hilton Head. But not money. I'm from the working class. Old money. Political influence. Family name. All that stuff still has a small place in those towns. It's going away the older I get. By the time my kids are grown maybe it will be a little more even. As crooked as it is you can go there with a work truck, start from nothing, and become something. No matter what color or class you are as long as you try. So... not many places like that in this world as far as I know
This is so INFURIATING. it wasnt just an “accident” she took the decision of driving while being drunk, she KNEW she wanted to get drunk and still decided to drive instead of getting an uber or calling her stupid parents to pick her up. she’s so self centered, selfish and cruel i cant believe someone raised this person to be so evil and disgusting
I think we have an idea on why this girl is the way she is with her accountability. Her parents just keep making excuses for her. Part of me wonders if they're not actually making excuses for her but they're just trying to say face in front of her so that things don't get worse for them. I'm sure this chick is crazy
Stephanie, you are so good at explaining phrases and words some people might not know. I also agree that it's good to experience consequences and even a little shame when very young to learn to AVOID stupid choices.
this family is so messed up.. the fact that the mom only had to pay $100,000 after killing a firefighter on duty is also very telling. who in their right mind would speed up if there's smoke on the road anyway? I don't believe she's actually innocent, she probably got a really good attorney
The mother of a drunk driver who killed a South Carolina bride on her wedding night was involved in an eerily similar crash ten years ago where a New Jersey firefighter died. Traci Komoroski, 62, the mother of Jamie Lee Komoroski, 25, was in a wreck in 2013 that resulted in the death of Forest Fire Service Warden Jeffrey Scheuerer.
You wouldn't be the kind of parent to raise someone like her The apple doesn't fall far from the tree (Obviously not always, some good parents still just have awful kids)
My kids are my world, my everything and unless they are a serial killer or a predator I would never never turn my back on them. What she did is horrible but she didn’t wake up that morning and said I’m going to kill a bride today. Those bars that served her should also be responsible it’s part of their job not to over serve.
This case makes me so mad! She has taken NO accountability for her actions. How dare she think that she should walk away unpunished. Post updates please.
What bothers me is that its ALWAYS the victim that dies.... never the one drinking, never the one who isn't paying attention. They always come out of accidents unharmed and it breaks my heart.
I’m offended too. I am in recovery and have been for years. I was in an addiction and I never hurt anyone but myself. The issue here is not alcohol, it’s her complete lack of self awareness and care for others and it shows in the jail calls
i agree. i'm also a recovering addict and while i wasn't the greatest person in active addiction and hurt people close to me emotionally in this time through lying about my addiction etc. i never was a danger to others safety. even at my lowest points i'd never ever would have done something even close to what she had done and stuff that could hurt others was always a hard no to me. this isn't about addiction, this is about being an entitled, selfish, unempathetic, terrible person who was enabled by her parents and privilege. the addiction is just the cherry on the top, i seriously believe that she would've also been a dangerous person if she always would've been sober.
@@technobrain666idd, and imagine even IF anyone makes such a mistake or crime whiles drunk, the remorse, shame and guilt after would be all consuming of your thoughts. Not the darn cat or "why me" crap whiles they toulk someones life. Its insane 😮🤮
I wonder if Jamie’s parents actually realize how much they failed her growing up, and with them enabling her bad behavior in adulthood, I’m not surprised that she probably hasn’t even thought about the fact that someone is actually DEAD because of her. This whole thing is just horrible.
Nope. They are narcisists and enablers. It's narcisism breading narcism. Doubtful anything will change their thought process and views. They likely have family and friends that also coddle them.
@@Hunk666What? They're stating that her parents had a direct impact on who Jamie turned into; spoiled, reckless and lacking empathy. They aren't saying Jamie isn't to blame, they're stating it's clear where her parents went wrong. Jamie is the one who killed a woman, but her parents are the ones coddling her and telling her it's OK.
This case happened 20 minutes from me. It really resonated with everyone here. RIP to Samantha and prayers to her loved ones. I truly hope Eric can heal from this.
My favorite thing about learning these things through this channel is the empathy, and delicate nature she talks about these events… especially the heart breaking details…. It really gives you a more humane look into terrible events and actions of terrible people. Jamie is a rancid person with main character syndrome… I hope she’s never allowed another drop of alcohol or gets the opportunity to drive another car. Disgusting actions, whining like a toddler over something that could “happen to anyone”? Ma’am not everybody is stupid enough to drive impaired and cause vehicular man slaughter! Ridiculous…. And those parents need to get a grip, their child murdered someone and it was just “a tragic accident”?
I, too, find the addiction angle offensive. Also, 4-6 _weeks_ in rehab? I overdosed and went for 4 months. My ex stole out of a few cars and had to go for a _year_ . And I better not see ANYONE talk about alcoholism as an excuse in this. I’m a heroin and meth addict in recovery with a family of alcoholics. Even if she is an alcoholic, IT IS NEVER AN EXCUSE. You can be high or drunk in your own home. This woman makes me blood boil
@ville__@ville2_ are you starting an entertainment channel for sociopaths and psychotics like yourself? Which aspect do you find the most amusing, the woman's grief or the dead dog? Are you currently under psychiatric care? Is this your first foray into videos for exceptionally damaged people, or have you been at this for awhile? Have you always lacked empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence? Have you ever heard of the phrase "read the room?" Do you know what it means? Do your parents know this is what you get up to in your basement room? Is it their fault you are this way? You probably don't have a lot of friends, huh?
This this this, issues like addiction aren't an excuse, they don't take away a person's responsibility for their own actions. Had a guy once blame him SAing me on being addicted to weed at the time and having borderline and dude, just no, that's not how that works Also, I hope your recovery is still going well and that you continue to get back in your feet!
I’m glad the bars are being held accountable too. I have my TABC license (Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission) you’re required to be licensed in Texas to serve alcohol which includes KNOWING WHEN SOMEONE HAS HAD TOO MUCH. Edit: Btw if the bartenders are licensed they can have a civil suit and criminal charges raised, however if the bartender isn’t licensed the bar is entirely responsible.
Kept sobbing at "I don't want this day to ever end". The only thing I can pray for is that this beautiful bride has that request come true and she is forever reliving that day in heaven. 💔
i heard about this case from others but there wasn't a lot of detail about it. people need to stop coddling their children because they never learn not to invade other people's boundaries, they never learn to respect other people's "no," and they never learn the concept of "consequences." like if my kid were a bully, i would be absolutely heartbroken. i can't imagine continuously babying someone after they've wronged so many people. drunk drivers have no regard for life and this girl caring about her own welfare vs the fact that she murdered someone-absolutely abhorrent behavior.
For some parents it's just easier to give the kid whatever they want then to actually teach them to be a good person. Some even view kids as an extension of themselves and can therefore do no wrong.
I’m currently dealing with my nine-year-old bullying his little brother and I heard he was being mean to someone at school and the last thing I would do is ignore that behavior. He and his brothers are going to be put in counseling next week because yes they know they can come to me with anything but sometimes it takes an outside source or counseling or therapy to help them with the emotions that they have and to not take them out on others and act a fool. As a parent, I can’t imagine just letting my kids become horrible adults like if I don’t do something about it now they turn into terrors.
@@LoreleiCatherine be careful with the choice of your counselor. You might end up two sessions later with your boys claiming to be born in the wrong body. 😢

The wheelchair you see there is a special kind specifically designed to take people onto beaches. It has wide rubber tires to spread out the weight so it doesn't get rutted in. Some beaches will allow those who need wheelchairs to borrow them for free.

She made a poor choice, but her behavior afterwards, even after she sobered up...her words make her such an abhorrent character. Her parents spoiled her rotten. She's rotten. Clearly.
If she gets convicted to the highest degree, she can get 100 years in prison. She's on trial for one count of reckless vehicular homicide and three counts of driving under the influence causing death. Each of these counts is up to 25 years. If she doesn't get the highest, then she is still not going to be going ANYWHERE anytime soon. And I hope she never gets out.

@@eveangel8967 There's actually 1 true reason and 1 other theory, so the true reason is that typically some prisons hand pick people with crimes not as bad as the others to get very and I mean very short sentences. Typically, they do this so open up more room in a prison, aka saving money. Now the conspiracy part of this is that some people think that if let's say a police station has a really bad reputation, they'll give some prisoners shorter sentences so they can re-offend. The catch is it's believed that they are closely monitored so they can arrest them easily and gain a higher reputation. Obviously, just a theory but extremely believable.

A sherrifs son plowed through one of my former coworkers in a crosswalk at around 11:30pm as she was leaving her shift at the bar. He walked with no charges. I hear stories of corruption everyday I pray for accountability.
Throughout this video, I was very irritated by the whole child-like behavior she had, but I got TRULY MAD at 35:55, when she says that "golf carts shouldn't be allowed in the freaking road". Like, bffr???? YOU. WERE. DRUNK. DRIVING!!!!
Thank you so much for being so respectful about South Asian and Islamic culture in your last podcast. It means so much to us that you displayed us in a positive light with so much consideration ❤
I used to bartend and was always so worried about anything like this. We were a dive bar so had a lot of regulars. Took many keys away many times and our male staff would give the guys rides home. Us girls would take the female patrons home. Our small town didn’t have a taxi service and this was before Uber and Lyft. Drunk driving scares the crap out of me.
Alcohol addiction doesn't make you the most selfish person in the world. That is just her personality through and through. It disgust me to hear her talk just about herself in such a situation. And what absolutely terrible parents. It's cases like these where I kind of wish there was a parent test before people are allowed to procreate. 😒
I really enjoy this host. She is sweet, informative and talks with kindness and respect to her fiancee but not in a "overly sweet " way! And enjoy hearing from the fiancee who seems very smart! Thank you guys!
I got a DUI when I was 18 and have driven drunk multiple times in my life. (Never again!) Thankfully no one was ever hurt. But my parents made me pay the bail, lawyer fees, etc and made it clear that it was unacceptable. I felt sooo much shame and I didn’t hurt anybody. It’s so terrifying thinking about easily this can happen. But if I had taken someone’s life I wouldn’t have been saying why me? I don’t think I could live with myself with the knowledge that I took a life. Jamie is a spoiled brat and her parents are just as bad. Currently sober btw ✌🏼😊 Edit: the reason I said any of that is to say that Jamie is exactly where she belongs. Yes it’s everyone’s responsibility to make good choices, follow the law, obviously don’t drive while intoxicated! And own your shit, take responsibility and do better. But this is not just a case about alcohol use, or even addiction. Most people who struggle with addiction are caring, loving people, who DO feel shame and empathy. The way she was raised it kinda seems like she would eventually end up harming others whether or not substances were involved because she only cares about herself.
This is so nice. I’m glad you’re better now. But man you were so close to something like this happening… it’s scary to think about it. If I were you, I would be playing this in my head often and thinking of how my day in prison would be like… life can sometimes be super cruel. One mistake and you’re done. But I’m glad things didn’t go this far for you ❤
It’s so scary to think about what could have happened. I’m glad you made it out safe without hurting anybody. I remember back in high school we’d drive around drunk like every weekend it’s so messed up we were way too young to genuinely realize the consequences and that it wasn’t a flex. I’m so glad we’ve grown up :)
i second this. as a fentanyl/heroin addict, i’ve overdosed multiple times, gone into cardiac arrest, put myself in a coma, and had more seizures than i can count. i say this to emphasize the fact that i had ZERO regard for my own life, let alone safety, but no matter how bad it got, the one line i never crossed was driving while using. NO ONE else should be dragged into my mess. i’ve never been too high for that decision either; driving under the influence is a deliberate choice made for your convenience at the expense of others possibly losing their life, and there’s no excuse. addicts are not bad people, but substance use is constantly used as a scapegoat for reprehensible behavior and it hurts all of us.
As someone who works in bars, it is indeed the law that bars are held liable if someone is clearly way too wasted and they continue to serve them just so they can make the money. If something is to happen it is something they can legally be sued for. She was visibly drunk. They knew they shouldn’t have served her anymore and they did it anyway.
Not to defend her or anything but when I think about it, she did hop between barsto drink one or two then move on to an other bar and do the same- To me, it sounded more like she knew she will get away with over drinking by doing this and it adds more to how awful and scary she is-
I've been binge watching this channel for like a week or two straight now - thank you team for covering so many stories that aren't often talked about..but this one hit me really hard to recall cause this is where I had grown up... My mom was one of the AirBNB owners some of the guests stayed with and when she told me this happened (I had moved away for college years ago but was visiting just a week after the incident), I just remember we felt so horrible that they didn't even get to live life as a married couple... And the whole island was so so mad at the driver. What's worse is all the bars on Folly are literally across the street from each other and next to each other. Like walking distance maybe 20-30 feet The farthest apart they get isn't even half the length of a football field apart... And that there are so many taxi and golf cart companies that operate purely for the party and drinking behavior that can happen on the main road. Hell, there's a HUGE hotel RIGHT NEXT TO THE BARS, too. Could have just stayed there for a night if truly needed if there was no way home or anyone to drive/stay with...AND our town's CITY HALL - with officers that can help is also right there. All on that main road Also, on Folly how our roads work is that there will be like "Ashley Ave", "Arctic ave", "Cooper Ave", etc that branch from the main road in two directions (left and right) so there will be West Ashley Ave and East Ashley Ave (and for the other roads as well). So we always wonder if maybe she meant to go down the other one...away from the couple... and it eats us alive that she didn't go the other way (Away from the family)...would she have even made it home?...Or would it just have been someone else...a different victim? Our hearts are with the family always and wholeheartedly wish Jamie gets what's coming for her. Please, if you're drinking... your life and the lives of others are not worth the risk. There is always other, safer options
I wonder if her parents told her she “did nothing wrong and has nothing to apologize for” because they had an idea the phone calls were recorded and could be used as evidence as an “admission of guilt.”
Just imagining the whiplash of emotion that the wedding attendees and the groom had is so sad. Imagine experiencing the happiest moment of your sister/daughter/friend and then being slapped in the face with horror is just so painful.
Jamie is 25???? And throwing a tantrum about colored pencils? Why her?! This HAS to be the most selfish person in the whole world. WHAT?! No apology, no guilt, she just didn’t want to get into trouble…
The fact that you can get so drunk and still drive is crazy . You put other people at risk. A Sane person will only think about what they’ve done. Insanity is what drives people to madness. No remorse or sense of guilt
It's truly tragic to me that the bride's last wish was that the day last forever and, as far as we know, for her, it did.

1. Don't drive while you're drunk.

and
3. if protection fail and you get preggers when you can't handle kiddos, abortion or adoption after birth

How there's still people on her instagram defending her actions absolutely baffles me. In times of Uber, taxis, calling friends or family to pick you up or sleepover, where all of these options exist 24/7, there is absolutely zero excuses for drunk driving. NONE.
EXACTLY! And it's not like she doesn't have money for taxi or doesn't have a phone

When someone tried to comfort me telling me I made a mistake, my response was always, “No, I made a decision.”
I thank my lucky stars every day that no one got seriously hurt or worse.

Nah drunk drivers piss me the fuck off so much. Imagine finding out a family member died over something so avoidable. Idiots.

And on top of that, her nonchalant entitlement and lack of remorse and accountability…
I'm sorry? You shouldn't have the right to reject a sobriety test if you've KILLED someone at the scene of an accident.... That is insane to me
That's why they got a court order and did the test
Yeah, it’s a bit misleading, as you can refuse, but in cases like this….they are going to get the court order immediately to get the blood work.
I won’t compare Jamie to a child… She is just plain selfish and her parents enabled her.
My condolences to the victim’s families
agreed, I've seen three year olds with more empathy and sense of responsibility than her.
Drunk driving is so senseless.
Shes a narcisist
Was thinking in my head that she was a demon child, but you're right. That would be offensive to children.
It’s scary to me how people often say things before death that kind of predicted their destiny. “ I want this day to last forever” gave me chills.
Heartbreaking
i couldn't agree more with your comment!! she deserves to rot in hell.
Consummation is such a stupid concept for a marriage to be vaild

I thought so too! I only know this from Mikemgtv, but aren't bars also liable if they keep serving someone who is clearly drunk?

Exactly, she's literally only caring about herself
The thing that sickens me the most, is that they advocate for her to not to apologize to them, because it's an admission of guilt, and that hurts the court case, and negates the money they've spent on their expensive attorney. They aren't even parents that save the day. They're just parents that pay expensive janitors.
"Janitors" is a great way to describe lawyers like this. Absolutely tragic.

I hold it with alcohol and driving the same way my mom does:
Even with just a sip of alcohol in the system, we do not get behind the wheel.
With just a sip you are still very much in the legal limit, but if anything happens, we would question if it would have happened sober too.
it’s just never worth it
If you're an alcoholic just sell your car. It's what I did. I've never drunk driven but I thought about it. And the day I thought about it - sold the car within the same week. Destroying my life is one thing but putting others in danger, no way. Even after I quit drinking, sober for 3 years, I didn't buy a new one, just in case.
ironically it was a rental
You can get alcohol locks fitted maybe? It will prevent the car from starting if the breath test detects alcohol.
The act in itself is gutrenching, but her complete lack of remorse or care for anyone but herself is even more sickening.

i heard about this case from others but there wasn't a lot of detail about it. people need to stop coddling their children because they never learn not to invade other people's boundaries, they never learn to respect other people's "no," and they never learn the concept of "consequences." like if my kid were a bully, i would be absolutely heartbroken. i can't imagine continuously babying someone after they've wronged so many people. drunk drivers have no regard for life and this girl caring about her own welfare vs the fact that she murdered someone-absolutely abhorrent behavior.
@ville2_You are an evil person!
Terrible story on top of an already horrible story. 😢😥

I wondered why the bar kept serving her. Hopefully this was checked out. 😢😢
Sure but let’s also not give her and other drunk drivers an excuse especially legally and morally to not take blame for their choices, that they made.
Not to defend her or anything but when I think about it, she did hop between barsto drink one or two then move on to an other bar and do the same-
To me, it sounded more like she knew she will get away with over drinking by doing this and it adds more to how awful and scary she is-
Well she was bar hopping they said, I wouldn’t blame the bars. She’s the only one responsible and maybe even her parents
All on that main road
Also, on Folly how our roads work is that there will be like "Ashley Ave", "Arctic ave", "Cooper Ave", etc that branch from the main road in two directions (left and right) so there will be West Ashley Ave and East Ashley Ave (and for the other roads as well).
I wonder if her parents told her she “did nothing wrong and has nothing to apologize for” because they had an idea the phone calls were recorded and could be used as evidence as an “admission of guilt.”
yup.
No...they're just awful parents who raised an unremorseful monster.
I was thinking the same thing
Yes!! She spoke too much, she was her own demise
Her parents is the reason why she doesn’t believe in consequences.
Wow. The entitlement of this woman and her family is absolutely gobsmacking. Sickening
“everyones going to be so mean to me” that made me feel sick. You killed someone due to your actions and you are worried about your image?? horrid 💔
The fact that you can get so drunk and still drive is crazy . You put other people at risk. A Sane person will only think about what they’ve done. Insanity is what drives people to madness. No remorse or sense of guilt
Painfully true. Those are the people I find the most hard to forgive. Less so tolerate them.
Oh you be surprise how many people said they ok to drive smh
@ville__are you ok?
If this soothes you at all drinking and driving is illegal
@TiinyGhostyIt's a bot, just report it for spam.
