There is a side of them that is not talked about much. Since my mom is an INFP, I know that she can also be ambitious and more structured than the rest of us at home (ESTP, INTP, INFJ). Now, when I say structured I mean about things she deems important. INFPs can also be quite detailed in narrating a story and connecting one story to another one. And they do like certain routines. Also, when she watches a movie, she gets emotionally invested in the story as though it were taking place in front of her eyes. I find it fascinating. Unfortunately, people seem to buy into some stereotypes out there that are really not true. INFPs can be strong in every sense: from having emotional clarity and strength, to learning to affirm their stance over time. They care a lot about others and can go out of their way to help.
Alternate title: How to make an INFP blush and/or feel called out in one minute. Gotta say though, sometimes my emotions run so deep, trying to explain them is like explaining rocket science to a fish. This is why I need a person who somehow senses what I feel lol it'd help so much on those days 😂
@@akfi96 W-Wait, are you serious?! 😳 I mean, I know it's just a trope but I thought an ENFJ would do that for an INFP! Still, dating another dreamer sounds... heavenly.
My INFP friend is incapable of living in the real world even more than I. She escapes in her head and holds her imaginary games for reality. I can't relate to the Fantasy play, but we both escape the world into our minds and she's the smartest most self reflected person I know besides I. INTP
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost." - J. R. R. Tolkien (in LOTR)
Nathan, you make being an INFP sound like pure poetry 💖 Even though we like to operate under the radar, INFPs have rather defining personalities, don't they? There's so much in our heads that goes unseen. With that being said, not all INFPs are out of touch with reality - I think it's possible for INFPs to accomplish great things in this reality, if they have their hearts and minds set on it. "Their natural balance is physical comfort and intellectual variety." So true... (crawls back under blanket)
I can confirm, as an INFP.. when I was younger, I was more idealistic, and hoped to show the world as it COULD be. But after years of narcissistic abuse from family of origin (especially my mother), I've gotten jaded and figure most of the world is too busy wallowing in their own problems to much notice anything I have to say
@@jaklumen Wow, that sounds like a tough environment to grow up in; I'm sorry to hear that. At times life for idealistic people can feel like a series of disappointments, followed by jadedness. I think if you can find a way to take care of your own problems and yourself, that's already a big accomplishment. And while the world may seem bad at times, we don't have to wallow forever in our jadedness
Being an INFP is like being a professional chef when most others are just normal eaters. When other people taste food, they rate it from 1-10. But when INFP taste food, they rate it from 1-100. Food in this sense is like their relationships, career, life and etc., and how they feel about it. They feel pretty intensely about living life, and can often tell you why
But as an infp i really want to fit in. I hate that im the only one who’s different. Theres not a single person in my life that i get along with not even my family
This is the big infp challenge. The day you learn to love being alone, everything changes then there is no need to fit into anymore and also yiu just meet people that you resonate with. I learnt to mive away from my family to grow inside and not being so sad that we are so different in perception and values. I love them and visit them every month/2 months ❤🎉 and I learnt that doing what I want is better than fit in. You also will make it. Give yourself time. You ate not alone and the right people will come to you
I am kinda same. Some people think i work well with people. I don't. I am trying to be paitient polite and honest as much as possible. Tho sometimes dealing with people Is pretty much frustraiting pain in ass.
“What is now has already been imagined” this is probably why my kids, when I tell them things that are to happen, they think I speak things into existence 😭 I feel like these words would work well in a tattoo, song or poetry - maybe in the future 😅
My only wish is to meet an infp irl ): it’s so hard being surrounded by people who just don’t get what we feel/go through. Almost like I’m only meeting the stark opposites. It gets really lonely at times.
Feeling the same, my friend 😢. I’m only now learning to use my INFP love and values to accept people as they are, to value people over ideals, to be my own friend. But I can’t shake off the need for humanly connection… the real one.
I really hope you find your people one day. 💕 I'm 31 now, and it's only two years ago that I met people who I can call real friends and - something that I never thought would ever be possible - can influence as much as they influence me. 😊 One of them is INFP too, two others are ISFJ and we meet up twice a year. I also recently rekindled my relationship with my ENFP best friend, who I met in high school, over 15 years ago, and we get along absolutely perfectly. It may take some time before you meet people who are right for you, but it's definitely worth it. So please, don't worry too much about it and don't hesitate to walk away from a relationship if you feel like it's not good for you. 🙏 I hope you'll find people who'll give you back all the love you have to offer and who'll be able to make you feel seen and understood.
Ahh, now I know why, after all these years, why I was sent home from early grade school years with a notes pinned to my dress saying “stares out the window too much”.
Artistic expression reminds me of a time in school we were supposed to make a no bullying poster. So i made a poster depicting what bullying looks like, why its obviously not nice and in big letters wrote no bullying. I thought they'd get the point but they were concerned. They didnt like when they showed my ISTP dad and he just laughed and thought it was cool. It didn't help teachers saw the worst in me all the time so yeah, i dont like the system..
So INFPs are eccentric, idiosyncratic, artistic outsiders, and daydreamers with negative attitudes to society, lost in their own heads and out of touch with the physical world. They are unconcerned with "what-is" (reality, I suppose) and wander around like Alice in their own personal wonderland. Wow, this man must utterly despise INFPs. He had almost nothing good to say, other than they can tell you what they feel. (A rather basic trait!) Everything was as negatively cast as possible. For instance, he could have said they were independent thinkers who know what they believe but chose "eccentric and idiosyncratic" instead. Rather than saying they are imaginative, he chose ideational Alices in their own personal Wonderland. At least he didn't say we are crybabies, as some do.
