I only pan fry my steak in my cast iron pan. Then I cook chopped onions in the juice, and if I have mushrooms, those too. I like to have this with homemade fries, using the twice fried method, prefrying them until limp, taking them out of the oil for 20 minutes and then frying them until golden brown. And dumping the onions and mushrooms over the steak and fries. Don't forget to generously salt the lot!
