Bhai, I just tried adjusting the tappets..But I was unable to adjust the outlet one.. Accessibility was very much restricted. I was having problem in putting the feeler gauge let alone adjust the tappets.Did u also face that issue? Do u recommend any other way to do that?
Yamaha service centers are very bad in their service, watching your videos gives us all the information, l also own a FZ25 thanks to your videos it's kept in good condition.
Great video. Much more in depth than the previous one. My bike is still having the same problem. Clearances get tightened in just 700-1000kms. After trying many times, finally decided to give it to my mechanic friend. He replaced the tensioner, basically removed and put back the timing chain and adjusted the clearances. The bike was much better, but still not the same as other FZs. Unfortunately due to the pandemic, he had to shut and I couldn't collect my bike and test. Hopefully this issue is fixed, just waiting for the lockdown to end.
You also reported in xbhp right ? I was researching because i wanted to buy one.then I saw your video about the noise. A lot have complained the same. Please suggest me more about this. Is it livable or should i go for another options ?

The whole thing with the tappet and coin rattling is exaggerated by most people. People expect something silent like a Honda in this bike, which isn't the case.

@@pratiktandel5706 I maintained it well, until the service centre adjusted my tappets during a service. After that, the bike started to become quite bad. I have ridden 10-15 FZ25s. None of them have the sound like mine. Most of them have minimal sound, are very smooth and accelerate very well unlike mine. Just one advice. Never allow the service centre to touch the tappets. In fact, don't bother about tappets at least for 10000kms. In the initial 4000-5000kms there may be a lot of noise (don't worry about the noise, just keep riding), but once the engine is set (may take around 7000kms), the sound will be minimal. Also, change yamalube every 2500kms. Gurpal has explained about the oil very well in a video, I suggest you watch that as well.

At TDC, tappet were not Loose. First time opened tappet cover since I bought bike. And how you set up exhaust side tappets. There isn't any space. Please reply. Need to set tappets but tappets were not loose.

I don't know what they did, how they did it. If you think sound will not come thats not the case. Tappet adjustment is not a solution for sound, it is for performance only. If you think there is a issue get it adjusted outside.

Do a service when its required. Wherever the attention is required fix it. Dont wait for 5000 or 10000. That's is company method not applicable for individuals
You will need a r15 or mt15 for few days to check how the cluster is wired and check the orientation. Also need the wiring diagram. Once few whole days are spent on rnd then see if its possible to fit. Then use new connectors which would direct fit the stock wiring harness of fz25. Also figure out how to then bolt the cluster to fz25 using clamp or something. So for this a bike is needed, wiring diagram and an additional cluster which would come with order.

Hello Gurpal. Thanks for the very informative video. I am looking for immediate advice from you on the FZ 25 2019 engine noise which I feel very abnormal after using the vehicle for almost 2 years. My vehicle has run 15000 km. I got the vehicle checked at Yamaha authorized service and they say it is normal as they checked at idle condition. This abnormality is after 70 kmph speed.
When you put the screwdriver in to check tdc. How do u know? What is supposed to happen. How to know if it's in tdc and how to tell if it's not (other than the loose tappets method)
Loose tappet method is the perfect one. I put screwdriver to check if piston is at top but this is not reliable as you may touch the open valve and it will feel like piston at top. Another method is to open right side timing chain cover, there will mark given on the sprocket and engine cover, match those and piston is at top.

No it's not with every bike. Fz 25 is a no nonsense 250cc commuter with understated handsome looks. I got it in 2019. Have zero regrets. If u dont like it, maybe try those bajaj 250cc bikes recently launched

new improved ? you missed the main precaution this time as well. tappet adjustment MUST be done in cold engine(best left overnight). plus the engine oil grade 15w50 or 10w50 is recommended by motul for fz250. i use 7100 10w50 myself and u will notice reduced tappet noise instantly. i hope you mention these points as well. 👌
Hii bro.. After adjusting the tappet clearance the engine vibration decreased and responsiveness increased. But there is a problem!! The ideal speed varies like 500 RPM range even on the move !! So the engine cut off automatically in lower RPM, i can't adjust it with ideal speed adjusting screw which is located in the throatle cable holder. Any solutions ?
You need to adjust the idle screw on the throttle body not on the throttle cable. Adjust that. Mine fluctuate too now and then. I think its normal. It gets out of adjustment very often.

My same bike is heating too much which valve may cause this I had adjusted value 3000 kms before and now it is sounding tapet and low pickup & after heat it is not pooling bike on 1500 rpm
Yamaha should replace the present FZ 25 rockers arms with the roller bearing rocker arms 😭 waste of money FZ 25 ,4 years saving wasted various idiot noises from engine
I shifted from R15 to fz25......R15 engine is pretty much awesome when revving..but downside you had to revv it to be fast..... Fz25 in the other hand doesn't need to be revved hard ...you feel good punch after 4k rpm. I rode back to back fz25 and dominor and ktm 390....... you can't compare these with R15 smoothness....so don't expect smoothness ..!!

I mentioned in the video. It can be BDC bottom dead. Roatate once again full 360 then check if they are loose. Yes gap is less you have to work anyway

When I adjusted to this spec (intake .07 exchaust .10) I had lots of handlebar vibrations at high rpm (above 4k) eventhough the performance is good

Yes it's in all fz25, Fz25 is the least quality bike from Yamaha, assembled the scraps together and named it as Fz25
