@@patrickstivers7387 I'm sure that helped. However the point remains. It engaged multiple ships while cloaked, while being very difficult to target in return. I'm not sure how there being more ships makes that less helpful for the Scimitar.
@@compmanio36 Because you had one ship that was able to fire in multiple arcs while the other two ships had to maneuver to bring their weapons, which were all forward facing, to bear. Had Enterprise made it through the Bassen Rift and met up with Task Force Omega, I highly doubt that that the Scimitar would have been as successful. Especially since they were going up against at least two Dominion War vets in the USS Hood and USS Galaxy.
That was AWESOME! 👍 Thanks. I think that if the Scimitar had been able to fire while cloaked, then it might have had a good chance, but without it, no chance.
Recent tests with QBPlus has shown that, on Extreme AI, the power buildup warning is not a joke... if the AI misses ramming, it self destructs with enough power to nuke your ship...😮
Awesome battle! I remember when you had under 200 subscribers! Goes to shoe what good commentary and regularity can do for a channel, I still watch weekly. congrats!
Come on, Captain Venom, you're not scared of their quaint little ships. 😆 I don't care what critics say, I loved Venom. It could have been more polished, but I still enjoyed it. 😀 Shinzon and Jean-Luc said they wanted to hit 2 meters. I'm 1.9m and happy with that. 2m is crazy (6'7" in English terms 🙂) But I digress, back to the fight... yes, if Picard could have rendezvoued with the fleet, they might have had a chance, but even with Dina Meyer's help, they still had to ram the Scimitar and Data had to die. It was still nice seeing Picard as a badass for once. Just like he did with those Naussicans. 😄 Also, even though I grew up in New England, I heard Patrick saying "L-grey" tea 😆. Tea, L-grey hot. I forget how old I was before learning about Earl Grey.
Yeah I do strongly believe The Scimitar would have been destroyed by the Omega Battle group. The main strength of the Scimitar was it's ability to fire while cloaked. A task force would soon triangulate it's fire and overwhelm it.
@@marvelous971-j6mMy head canon: The warp core had been damaged at the beginning of the battle in Nemesis. I wonder if that nerfed the E’s power in that battle.
6 quantum torps took out the scimitar cloak. Though she wasn't trying to destroy the E.... I dunno... she was written and built with the firepower and shields of a space station
Ships ramming you constantly is what you have to put up with when a Klingon is given command! Apparently Federation starships are just better designed for ramming than Klingon ones.
If you did some cheeky warp core/sensor array targeting I think you could have won. All those disruptors are great for subsystem targeting. Knock out enterprise sensors, knock out galaxy sensors, come back to finish them off later.
You'll never learn your lesson with the cloaking device, eh? You're only supposed to drop cloak on the aft port quarter and come to full emergency stop.
The firing while cloaked is a big advantage but in the movie it also had primary and secondary shields so it could take a lot more hits without losing sheilds, the game cant really replicate that advantage
i just wished that the weapon particle effects were closer to the movie, tealish green disruptors and greenish yellow torpedos, also i belive the torpedos should be called a cased plasma torpedo.
😨Yes Admiral.. Crikey. 1st battle , as soon as you uncloaked all fired on you unreal.. and 2nd battle still lasted long even that first ramming.. wow. but I would say too if the Ent reached the fleet, would have won against the Scimitar.. wow this was a non stop weapons fire jeepers.. still great.. love the battle!!!😊🖖 Strange cause I remember and just went a saw the Scimitar can fire while cloaked.. hmm **The Scimitar was able to both use shields and fire whilst cloaked. The cloak also remained effective even through multiple weapon hits from phasers, photon and quantum torpedo hits and disruptors. Guess in game not same as in the movie.. just saying..!
I would say it would depend on whether the Thalaron weapon could be charged and fired while cloaked. If so - and it had the dispersion radius to be able to kill a planet - Shinzon could have wiped out Task Force Omega without them even knowing what hit them. If Shinzon decided it was more important at that point to just destroy the task force, complete the mission, and forget about Picard, he could have succeeded, even though he would have died. If he insisted on trying to get Picard back and tried to slug it out I think he could have still lost. That many ships and that big a battle, sooner or later the cloak would have taken some damage or some Starfleet engineer would have figured out how to get around it. They have a knack for doing that sort of thing.
I would have liked to think the Omega task force would have been able to defeat the Scimitar, especially if this is any indication of that. Although I don't think they'd decloak and fight. Firing through the cloak gives them a tactical advantage and the task force would have to do a lot of blind weapons firing like the Enterprise-E did at the beginning of the battle. I couldn't help but laugh the second time when the Galaxy class rammed into you lol.
In canon, the scimitar would easily maul them, its weapons (not even including torpedoes) is more than the entire fleet (the one here) combined. But instead on one shield face, constantly rapid firing, and with more torpedo firepower as nearly 2 akira classes. Yeah the fleet is completely and utterly done for.
All I can see when I look at the Renaissance is 2 highlighters glued to the top of the primary hull. 😂😂 I think it would have looked fine without them.
Honestly, I think it would have been a toss up, who would have won. Shizon was obsessed, and the Scimitar was a monster battleship with a massive amount of offensive weapons. On the other hand, Starfleet had the advantage of numbers, and everyone on those ships would be fighting to protect the Earth itself with everything they had. The only thing I can tell you for certain is that it would have been one heck of a fight.
There is a version in Kobayashimaru that can fire whilst cloak. However it doesn't have shields, so if you triangulate its position it's easy to destroy. It's very weak as well.
One problem though the ai doesn't move around to let the other Shields tank the damage. Everything will be at 100 except front shields and they will just stay there taking it all head on (literally)
Was the Defiant part of the task force in this battle? I think it would be a 50/50 chance of a Scimitar victory in an actual battle vs the task force on the movie screen firing while cloaked.
I feel like all the Federation ships should have been stronger than shown due to it being a few years after the Dominion war. With the threat still posed by the Borg, these ships wouldn't have had their advanced defensive systems removed and might even have received further upgrades after the peace.
I wonder if the game has the radiation super-weapon? Cause I think Shinzon would have parked cloaked at optimal firing range and just turned all the people on every ship to ash without ever being spotted.
I don't think it would have made much of a difference. They knocked out 2 Valdores like they were nothing and then crippled the Enterprise. I imagine the Excelsiors, Intrepid, and Defiant classes all get 1 shot by it while it's cloaked unless the Defiant class has the same armor as the original Defiant then maybe not but they certainly don't last long.
Nah, Scimitar would have won. It cut that Romulan ship in half with just a few shots to the squishy bits, not the 80 shots it takes to knock out a ship in BC. The only thing that could have turned that battle is the GRAND NAGUS!!!
@@RetroBadgerGaming If they both have a face to face fight I’ll give it to the Grand Nagus.
