That was a fantastic fleet battle, I wonder if all might have been lost if the Borg Spheres had not decided to play bumper cars with one another? I would love to see this battle again, but this time, with a TMP Klingon/Klingon Academy era fleet, see how the empire would take on such an invasion force. Again, great vid :)
Motion picture era would do better against the Borg than TNG. They'd have assimilated Kirk and his sheer force of personality, and the queen's desire to bang him, would have led to Kirk effectively taking over the cube and friendly relations with the Federation being established.
Unlikely. I imagine Kirk being captured and banging the queen. Then she uses Borg technology to make Kirk practically immortal by slowing his ageing process to 1% of its original rate, allowing him to live for at least another 5,000 years, and increasing his sperm production by 1,000%. Then she tells him that he has to bang every genetically compatible fertile female in the entire Borg collective! 100 years later, Kirk has banged 365,000 Borg drones and is desperate to die... This is the tragic story of James T. Kirk, a.k.a. 'Progenitor 001' - Borg Stud
I especially think this makes sense because the Romulans very likely had several encounters with the Borg that we just never heard about on screen. The disturbances that both the Romulans and the Federation were investigating in season 1 were retroactively labeled Borg activity.
If the Borg were in TOS then the Kelvin timeline might have happened earlier than originally depicted and instead of the USS Kelvin facing down and losing to the narada it was starfleet facing down and winning against the Borg while also losing possibly a sizable chuck of their fleet Plus by the time the 3 spheres were destroyed the Borg might have adapted which would force the federation to become more like the terrans/pirates, conquering species and taking the useful stuff while leaving the rest
Reminds me of a timeline I wrote where the borg invaded the alpha quadrent during the TOS era and the Federation had to ally with romulus to make armored stealth ships (with the Balance of Terror plasma weapons and powerful phasers) in order to fend them off. I was going to model the concept at some point. Should probably do that
@1:20 you ask "if you have any requests comment below" well, how about a quick primer to the game aka simulator? I've never played Bridge Commander and am definitely not up to speed on any of the mods, but I watch plenty of these because I like ships and shields and pew pews and explosions and star trek. There is a lot that I have picked up just from watching, but maybe sometime you can do a quick run down on why you do certain things, how and why you divert power in the upper right the way you do, what the weapons array in the lower right is all about, what the little icons that appear on your ship in the shield grid diagram or for, etc.
First off, great video. Perhaps if it happened again, maybe roll in some section 31 ships of the timeline if they have any. One thing I always thought was off about Wolf 359, and maybe they had them there, but we know section 31 has some advanced tech that they'd bring to the party for any Earth ending battle.
23rd century ships were extremely powerful. In truth, Starfleet cut its tactial abilities down and watered down their ships in the 2360s. Remember, when the Klingons needed help, people asked if the Federationwould mothball the Starfleet. Adiral Smilie said no, he was sure that the fleet's exploration efforts would not be cut back - implying the military would. :P
I actually wonder what would have happened if Kirk ever encountered 23rd century Borg. They'd be way less advanced but I think we have to face a sad truth here. Judging by the fact how mid 24th century Starfleet vessels were no match for a single borg cube (Wolf 359, cough cough) Earth would have been assimilated and the entire federation crippled or whiped out completely. It comes down to the fact how long the Borg of that time period needed time to adapt to Starfleet's shield and weapon's technology. Creative idea with that battle!
😳Oh my for sure Admiral.. wow this was a crazy battle and your ship did good. gosh.. the shields and weapons, amazing, and all the ships firing, lol the Borg Spheres oh gosh, '' don't leave anything behind, so nothing falls into the Arctic..'' lol just saying. lol. Love the battle and the start up close, gosh the ships look great, I think Kirk would have fired everything.. and Sulu hmm. Spock. would say Fascinating and Bones, ''' what the bleep bleep ,bleep'' sorry had to lol. Scotty. ''she's taking quite a wallop'' lol. The Miranda survived wow. this was amazing. Hope you are well also, and loved the battle as always Admiral. !!! *again, make sure no parts of Borg ships fall in the Arctic.. lol !😊🖖
I'd love to see if ANY version of the Excelsior can take on a D'Deridex class warbird (tall order, probably, but maybe the Lakota could? Or perhaps a couple of Excelsiors working together)
Resistance is not futile!, but on a ship to ship level it does take massive fire power, extremely high levels of R&D, and intimate knowledge of Borg systems. The 23rd century fleet got their one shot. I wouldn't be surprised, with all those ships, that the Borg would have adapted by mid battle.
Looks like those cutting beams just didn't cut it this time. Also I have heard a rumor that a soul tormented by the destruction of so many Connies can be healed by captaining a Borg fleet against a fleet of JJprises (and winning).
I seem to recall that one of novels that Shatner was involved in writing suggested that VGer from the motion picture was connected to the borg- but we all know how tenuous the canonicity of the novels is
I'm surprised how well the TMP era fleet did. I thought it was going to be a turkey shoot. In the game Star Trek Legacy, Kirk did face an offshoot of The Borg. They weren't from the main collective, they were experiments of a mad Vulcan scientist by the name T'Uerell. The species that served as the bulk of T'Uerell's collective were Klingon at this point and they never identified themselves as Borg. I wonder what would've happened if Yamato BBs were replaced with Proxima Refit BBs. Proxima has a more powerful phaser broadside but I think fewer torpedo launchers.
I mean, the TMP-era's weapons are probably effective because this is likely the TMP-era Borg. They're a full century less advanced than the Borg cube the Federation faced at Wolf-359. I'd bet that even a single TNG-era sphere would have swept this entire TMP-era Federation fleet with relative ease.
Wow that was hard to watch this one lol but it was fun. I bet the Excelsior would have been rebuilt as an Excelsior Refit and the Enterprise-A would have been rebuilt too. At least I'd like to think so.
Commander Shelby said it best: "Borg-sphere can lose 70% of it's structure and would still be able to fight". It took spices 8471 to take that remaining 30%.
Good point... if the armada hit hard and fast enough it might work. The Enterprise D caused massive damage to the cube before they adapted. On to the fight... I hope they don't get irritated by their Borg implants. Might I suggest an analgesic cream. 😆 Hahaha... well done (as in you won) but it was a costly victory. One Miranda survived and your ship would be scrapped for spare parts. 😄
I think the reason the weapons are more effective is because this was a time when Starfleet was far more militant, and therefore invested a lot more in advanced weaponry and the like, whereas in TNG era they let their military technology and tactics atrophy.
the Borg kinda sorta were in TMP. there's enough to suggest the machine planet Spock saw that created V'ger were perhaps an early version of the Borg (or a much more advanced version of the Borg where organic elements had been entirely removed and the Collective was a machine consciousness) but it would have changed so much if the original cast faced the Borg..although there is Nomad which is pretty much V'ger anyway..in telly form
I would like to see a video of Section 31 (DS9) era go back in time a few centuries (Archer's era) and take out the Romulan race with their 24th century weapons vs Romulan 22nd technology!
That was a really good battle. Is there something you could do with a couple of Galaxy classes, a few Ambassador classes, and anything else that comes to mind from that era versus either the same thing. Or a stronger version of the Borg?
Fun battle! I saw someone else do a bunch of connies (12?) vs 1 cube, so I bet that's why you got this request so often. I would want to see variations on this scenario if you had the mind to do it. How about a mixed TOS fleet in the same situation as this one. Or how about just Excelsiors vs the cubes and spheres? How many would it take? LOL.
I wonder if those older style phasers could be more effective against the Borg? Assuming they figured out the changing the phaser frequency thing, maybe each individual phaser burst could be remodulated in rapid fire?
Without studying the tech data of the Ent-D in the first encounter, any info gleaned from assimilated crew, as well as without Picard/Locutus- Starfleet would have a better chance. THAT SAID, let's not pretend the Borg weren't playing with the D, looking to capture it and assimilate the crew and technology. Yes, the Enterprise got some good shots in, but nothing the Cube couldn't absorb- and it took that info and adapted. I don't think the TOS/M era weapons would be strong enough to finish the Cube off before it adapted its shields and then "they're boned".
Can you do a video with a Borg Cube against two D'Kora class, two D'deridex class, a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, K't'inga class, Vor'cha class, and Negh'Var warship.
TNG era starship, while more powerful, were far too timid. Kirk would have never waited or tried to talk to the borg. Also TNG borg tactics (wolf 359) consisted of lining up in a straight line and attacking. So yeah, not surprised to see this.
Wow it was just like battle of sector 001 several ships destroyed when the cube went up and come on the work horse of Starfleet surviving isn't to shocking is it?
Starfleet barely won. 😬 Imagine the technology we'd see in Picards era if the Borg had encountered Starfleet this early on. Ship and weapon design would have to be far more advanced.
Eh.................................... If u watched star trek first contact at the end when the cube exploded this happened as the Enterprise Chases the borg sphere with the queen on board to earth! lol
Out of curiosity is there any Warhammer 40k ship's that have been modded in to this game because I've seen a few other universe's for example the Stargate ships which to be honest I really like the design of those ships they are cool and Babylon five ships which actually would be interesting to see if there are many other ships from that universe because they are pretty cool as well anyway been loving these videos so cheers for the upload retro-Badger
Can you do a video with an upgraded Sovereign class ship - with Admiral Janeway's armor tech and transphasic torpedo's as well as the Galaxy Class X's phaser lance added to the ship, plus metaphasic shielding - against the best ships that the Klingons, Romulans and Dominion have? Basically a Super Sovereign X class ship. I'd love to see such a upgraded ship in action.
Don't forget that the NX-01 Enterprise from the tv series Enterprise faught the borg in S02E23 Regeneration. Just thought that was interesting info. lol
1:29 Ulysses-class versus Yamamoto-class (TOS Yamato-class). I seem to recall that you already fought the Federation-class with this one. It'd be interesting to see how the two dreadnoughts compare to one another. More generally speaking, are planetary assault battles feasible?
The Borg clearly don't consider the Miranda class to be a threat. And somehow they figured out the flying tomato is non-canon (how that for plot armor?).
I was honestly expecting the Borg to do better against the TMP ships. I guess that ships named Yamato are very hard to kill in battle. Speaking of Yamato, could you put the TMP Yamato, Galaxy class Yamato, and the Yamato A against the Space Battleship Yamato?
You Borg bastards, you killed my ship, you Borg bastards.
BOOOOOOOOOOOORG!
😂😂😂
Starfleet infected the Borg with Windows Vista, and two spheres immediately collided. After that, it was all over for the Borg.
The Borg tried to adapt to Vista, so Starfleet 'Upgraded' them to ME Edition and it then it really was all over for the Borg.
🤣🤣🤣
Idk why I'm laughing so hard rn
@Byron-Hungerford it's funny cuz it's true!
Kirk: What about the Enterprise. Sulu: Adrift but salvageable.
7:20 Just in First Contact, the explosion from the cube wiped out some of the starfleet ships
I play a mod on Star Trek Legacy that had a TOS fleet take on a Borg Tatical Cube.
What a battle.
There is a theory that V’ger was taken in by the borg and released to find its creator. Thus making Lt Ilia the first Federation citizen assimilated.
It's nice to hear the Wrath of Khan phasers.
Kirk would just yell at the Borg, telling them they are illogical, and in error, until they exploded.

Yes, also nothing beats doublefist-punches. Assimilate this! kapow!
LMFAO FACTS 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Unlikely. I imagine Kirk being captured and banging the queen. Then she uses Borg technology to make Kirk practically immortal by slowing his ageing process to 1% of its original rate, allowing him to live for at least another 5,000 years, and increasing his sperm production by 1,000%. He did like himself some green skinned alien ladies....
dis guy rite.......Kirk couldn't overpower them with his starship....so he'd pour on the charm....Borg Queen wouldn't stand a chance
I would like to see a Romulan fleet vs the Borg. More fleet battles!
I especially think this makes sense because the Romulans very likely had several encounters with the Borg that we just never heard about on screen. The disturbances that both the Romulans and the Federation were investigating in season 1 were retroactively labeled Borg activity.
Man.......Miranda-class survived and had even better hull intregrity.
THAT was a close-run thing! No more denigrating the USS Tamato then! ;)
If the Borg were in TOS then the Kelvin timeline might have happened earlier than originally depicted and instead of the USS Kelvin facing down and losing to the narada it was starfleet facing down and winning against the Borg while also losing possibly a sizable chuck of their fleet

Love your perfect timing of those clips of Kirk throwing a fit (even if it is actually Garth disguised as Kirk)!🤣🤣🤣
@1:20 you ask "if you have any requests comment below" well, how about a quick primer to the game aka simulator? Star trek legacy had different borg ships for the three different eras in the game enterprise, TOS and next generation
I would love to see some TOS-era Borg! Goofier looking, more primitive, but still beefy and scary...
Achievement Unlocked: Confuse the Borg. The took one look at the Tomato and actually froze, unable to make sense of it.
I'd of added the Proximus class and the Federation class Dreadnought to the fleet by other wise a great battle .....great as all ways RB 😊
Let’s see the Borg invade Ferengi space! Bunch of new ships the Ferengi can use along with a certain GRAND NAGUS!!!
Pre watch prediction
Movie era Jim will make a fine drone
I was wrong
Shocked
Now that was GOOD.
Whale probe vs Borg
Shrike, Scimitar and Klingon Borg Hunter vs Assimilation Cube
Great battles! I would love to see a fleet of b5 white stars against atlantis.
Yamato class 😛❤️
big space battles like this are the reason I love sci fi, also that green background does look really good when fighting the borg with a fleet👌
Oh no! Another Borg invasion! It must be sweeps week.
That was Thrilling, thanks for that entertaining video 10 out of 10 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Ty for the video, AMAZING... and LLAP!

2:24 You're wrong. F in chat for Jean-Luc...I mean...James T Kirk!

i blame the worm things from conspiracy.
Every borg cube has a borg ball inside, with everything outside the ball operating as exoskeleton
I actually wonder what would have happened if Kirk ever encountered 23rd century Borg. They'd be way less advanced but I think we have to face a sad truth here. Didnt William Shattner himself write a novell about exactly this? 😀 I googled it. Indeed, he did. Its called "The Return".
Wolf 359 was lost due to tactics. Line up and fire. Proper tactics was swarm and destroy which the federation later used effectively.
kirk would need to use cleverness to win
😳Oh my for sure Admiral.. wow this was a crazy battle and your ship did good. gosh.. the shields and weapons, amazing, and all the ships firing, lol the Borg Spheres oh gosh, '' don't leave anything behind, so nothing falls into the Arctic..'' lol just saying. lol. OH MY! With sequins.
I'd love to see if ANY version of the Excelsior can take on a D'Deridex class warbird (tall order, probably, but maybe the Lakota could? Or perhaps a couple of Excelsiors working together)
Crazy battle
If there was a USS Chuck Noris, the borg would have self destructed on sight.
that would of been something if that Miranda Class was the Reliant under the command of Khan
Borg inbound!
Looks like those cutting beams just didn't cut it this time. Also I have heard a rumor that a soul tormented by the destruction of so many Connies can be healed by captaining a Borg fleet against a fleet of JJprises (and winning).
I just HAVE to watch this.
I wonder if Trelane or Q is involved? I wonder what Q would do to Kirk?
You mean what kirk would do to Q lol he
Shield Regeneration is high... that's kinda holding u back!
I seem to recall that one of novels that Shatner was involved in writing suggested that VGer from the motion picture was connected to the borg- but we all know how tenuous the canonicity of the novels is
Another win for Space Battleship Yamato!
23rd century Borg had dices and marbles, not cubes and spheres, and then they grew up. 🎲
Worf: "I did not play with toys"
😂😂😂

I think you should of done a distress call for the klingons that had a fleet around Uranus for help. They are always ready for a nasty fight😅
It took me awhile to realize your ship has two Excelsior hulls.

I'm trying to imagine Captain Kirk being assimilated by the Borg.... 🤔
Kirk would seduce and counter impregnate the female Borg.
More Klingon academy ships please🙏
The Borg would have well adapted within 5 minutes and you'd have all been screwed.
Wouldn't a Constellation class or two be in there as well? I thought there were built in the movie era.
I want to see a combined Federation/Klingon Empire and Romulan TOS fleet against 1 borg cube
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGGGGGG!!!!
👍
Can you do a video with a Borg Cube against two D'Kora class, two D'deridex class, a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, K't'inga class, Vor'cha class, and Negh'Var warship.

The Jupiter 2 v Space 1999 Eagle.
Cool! I really wish the Eagle and Jupiter was in this game. I hope one day to make that a reality! Same with Sky One and the UFO's.
@@RetroBadgerGaming My favs. Like Spaceballs 1. lol
Retro you should do a federation fleet Vs the doomsday machine
Starfleet barely won. 😬 Imagine the technology we'd see in Picards era if the Borg had encountered Starfleet this early on. Ship and weapon design would have to be far more advanced.

Imagine Kirk as Locutus of Borg
That was epic
Loved the battle, well played 💯
Thanks 🖖
Retro Badger, can you please do a playthrough of Star Trek: Conquest?
V’ger vs. 29th century Borg
1:29 Ulysses-class versus Yamamoto-class (TOS Yamato-class). I seem to recall that you already fought the Federation-class with this one. It'd be interesting to see how the two dreadnoughts compare to one another.
More generally speaking, are planetary assault battles feasible?
I'd like to see the original wolf 359 battle
I wouldve put a proxima in the fleet, just in case
The Borg clearly don't consider the Miranda class to be a threat. And somehow they figured out the flying tomato is non-canon (how that for plot armor?).
I was honestly expecting the Borg to do better against the TMP ships. I guess that ships named Yamato are very hard to kill in battle. Speaking of Yamato, could you put the TMP Yamato, Galaxy class Yamato, and the Yamato A against the Space Battleship Yamato?
How about the NX01 Refit Vs Minbari Sharlin Class?
I have a request
Colonies of kobol fleet vs tauri battlegroup fighters included both sides
Curious can you do the kelvin series USS Enterprise against enterprise F?
