2013 G37x - best car I've ever owned. NO problems after 67,000 miles other than replaced the driveshaft (ran over a metal shovel which fell off a dump truck in front of me at 65 mph and screwed up a U-joint). Super reliable and very fun to drive. Only downside is that its thirsty but thats the tradeoff of the performance. Great car.

You should really refrain from stereotyping brands with the type of people who drive them. You could say the same thing about Toyota drivers but the fact of the matter is, cars are just machines, and everyone drives in a different way regardless of what they choose to drive.

+ThousanWhite You're right!! Bimmers have always been expensive to maintain, and then got bland looks/interior with the E90 Era, and Lexus are too numb to drive - yes, even the IS / GS Series. The G37 truly is a Nissan Z with 4 doors! See you on Hwy 1 racing South to Monterey from Santa Cruz.... :)

I own a 2011, it's a very nice car in terms of its performance and handling. It is also pretty much trouble free except maintenance due to normal wear and tear. The AWD is amazing, you will not get stuck in Winter driving condition as long as you have snow tires. Common problems you find on this car is the backlight of the analog clock located at the center console will go out after a few years and the lid of the storage bin behind the shifter will no longer stay closed, for a 9 years old car with such problems, I certainly can live with it.

NOISIER ENGINE??? Cmon, it's a sports sedan not a Crown Victoria for old people!!! It growls like a lion ! Skyline GTR like sound ! Best bang for the buck when new and even used like a 50k mile car. It's not a luxury, soft, quiet and refined ride like the older flagship Infiniti Q45 99-2001. That was like driving in your comfy recliner chair. I owned one for 14 years and still looked 90% showroom new, Infiniti salesman couldnt believe his eyes. But all good things must come to an end after 170,000 faithful miles, and the 2012 G37X sedan fits my sports performance needs and quality in a reliable sports sedan !

I looked at this car when I was looking to buy sporty luxury car for my gf. This cars engine was noisier than my Corvette, despite the engine being far less powerful and smaller. It's really quite annoying.

About a month ago a buddy of mine picked up a fully loaded 2011 Infiniti G37xS Sedan with 47k miles on it for only $17,500.00 after negotiating with the dealership a bit. It's Silver -(I don't know what it's called). It has the light gray leather seating with the darker Taupe dash and upper door panels... Again, not sure what it's called, but it looks really nice instead of the more common 100% black. Anyway, it has navigation of course, and it even has the rare technology package as well! It also has some nice looking glossy wood in the interior too. What a nice freaking car!! He's already done some mods to it. First thing he did was buy Bridgestone Blizzack WS80 -(235/50/18) snow tires all around for this winter... We've already driven this car in over 7" of snow, and this G37 was a freaking monster in that snow with these tires + AWD!! He had his front grille painted gloss black, and had the outer chrome upper and lower strips painted body color, and left the chrome badge as is. He has LED DRL's installed next to the factory fog lights... He got the idea from another G37 owner here on youtube after watching one of his videos. He installed Stillen Gen.3 Long Tube CAI's. He had a Stillen True Dual exhaust system installed, and has an UpRev Tune, so far. This car definitely has some serious balls! Even bone stock these G37 AWD models are running high 13's @ 101-102 mph. It's probably running mid 13's or faster now. At least, that's what it feels like anyway. You can definitely feel a very noticeable difference in acceleration now versus when it was bone stock... He'll find out what it runs when spring rolls around. Anyway, he couldn't be happier with the car. I wouldn't mind one like this myself actually.

I bought a 2nd hand 2010 g37 sedan with 35,000 miles on it and drive it everyday. Bought two K&N air filters so could clean every 5,000 miles with oil change. 3rd set of tires and a few years ago I had a engine warning light come. Turns out I needed to buy the map sensor and throttle cleaner. Problem solved. Now with 190,000 it’s still a great car that get 23.5 mpg on the highway with some traffic driving. No rattles and very quite comfortable drive. Two problems clock runs fast and clock light doesn’t work. A year ago the am and fm radio stoped working. Cd works and I still can use my iPhone connected to the car for my music

Love my G37X still today only 29,000 miles on it. Purchased for Japanese reliability and AWD with Z car performance. He keeps mentioning BMW , AUDI, Mercedes, they make throw away cars. Try to get to 100,000 miles without major engine or electronic failure is unheard of. These older Infinitis where great anything made in Japan. ❤

    • @jacquesc3166
      @jacquesc3166 ปีที่แล้ว

How does yours only have 29K on it?! What's the story? I bought my '13 X sedan in Oct 2016, 117K miles on it today, never selling it. Radiator & water pump were the biggest repair at around 95K, never a single electronic issue... most of the BMW/Merc/Audi sport sedans from that era have been totaled or mechanically totaled up here in Canada. Yet G's are still around. 😎

Well said. I just sold a 2016 F30 BMW 340i with 70k miles on it for a beautiful 2013 G37x with 57k miles. One owner, 0 accidents. I owned the BMW for a year and a half, and about 20k miles. In that timeframe I spent 6k on maintenance. Not exactly what you'd want from a car. I previously owned Infiniti, albeit a 2017 Q50, which I unfortunately totaled. However I was not a fan. Their build quality dropped off considerably, which is why I ultimately decided on a G37. Reliability and my overall fondness of the car were the 2 biggest factors in purchasing one.

Thanks for reviewing "almost my exact car! I got my 2013 G37x (white!) in 2017 when my 2004's a/c compressor surrendered and my service advisor just wouldn't let me put anymore $$$ into it. I saw this at the dealership as a certified pre-owned for ~$20k with only 28k miles on her. With the trade-in of my grey 2004x baby, I was able to get it out the door for around ~$17,500. It has been wonderful, EXCEPT for an incessant rattling noise on the ride side when sitting in drive at a full stop. Oh great....exhaust issues? Another TH-camr said of all things....to check out the WASHER FLUID container. Sure enough, the rubber top clip at the top had rotted and was ever so slightly causing that "krrkrrkrrrkrrrr" noise. I took it off, and even though the top of the reservoir is somewhat loose now, until I can get a replacement grommet, the noise is GONE! The white is classy-looking and looks better to this day than many newer cars. I've had Q50 owners come up and tell me they wished that that Infiniti kept the G-series. :-)

The extra weight doesn't really have as much to do with the ride quality, it mostly affects the handling. The AWD models do have slightly different suspension tuning that is softer than the RWD models and the weight distribution is skewed more towards the front axle. Honestly, we felt both models rode similarly, most buyers won't notice a difference.

Have to disagree on one thing you said. When comparing the interiors of the 3-Series, A4 and G37, I think the G37 surpasses them all. Despite being a huge BMW fan, the interior of the 3-Series feel awful especially without any of the premium packages. It is all cheap plastic and the seats and door handles creak and squeak when you touch them. Great review though!

Great review. Inifniti has a great deal going on now. A fully loaded G37 for only $249 a month lease, 2013 model. X version which I need living in PA, FWD Acura TL had a very tough time getting around. Might be time to trade in the old car.

Deon Alford G25 is way too weak. Even V6 Altima is much quicker. At least now that they are used you can sell it and for about the same price or maybe 1-2000 extra you can get a G37.

Deon Alford Im going for a test drive of G25x for few days, do you think that I would definitelly have to take a look at 37? i live in a city with no corners, no altitude changes, just driving from intersection, to intersection, 60km/h max speed haha, so i guess 25 is going to be ok for me

Saabkyle04 said he purposely does his reviews in his manner because he allows people to form their own opinions and gives you a feel of being in the car, like a virtual showroom. Sofyan's method isn't the be all end all and neither is Kyle's but they're both. He earned more than $100k so far on YT so I'm sure Kyle is doing something right. Just appreciate both.

Another excellent review! I just have a question for you... I was told by a salesman that the G37x Sedan rides a little smoother & takes bumps better than the G37 Journey Sedan with the 17" wheels because of the extra weight of the AWD. That's the only time I've ever heard that before, so I was wondering if you agree since you've driven both? I know some sales people will say anything to get a sale lol. Thanks

Love the car, but the interior lacks the "cool factor" of my old 2005 G35x with the orange dashboard lights. Infiniti also made some baffling decisions regarding the heat controls etc. That said, Infinitis are so distinctive in their style (and so affordable compared to used Lexus and Acura models of similar age and mileage) that I probably won't drive anything else.

I just got a 2011 RWD version of this car, all black interior and tinted windows. Everything he said in this vid is pretty much spot on. Also spoiler alert, I saw his review of the Q50, and he didn't like it as much as the G37.. in fact he was pretty negative about it. The acura TL is nice too, but different.

+dan428 Nice job on the G37 purchase man! :) I'm looking at a 2009 blk/blk, G37xS next week. Time to say goodbye to my overrated, too expensive to repair, too heavy, and too-old-school-interiored 2003 5 Series. I need a car that likes to dance and sing on the back roads  - not just a Touring car like a 5 Series or A6. I considered the TL, and although ii entices with all the technology ( Tech Pkg, SH-AWD ) ultimately, it comes across as more flash than substance. It handles well, but it's not particularly fast, has WAY too many buttons on dash, is not even CLOSE to being attractive ( did Chris Bangle design this car?? LOL ) and has an artificial steering feel. Take care! -Dave

NMEofdaST8 Nothing yet. The g37 I drove didn't feel right so I passed. I'm currently in love with a 2009 335xi Coupe lol BMW may be expensive to fix, but the way they drive is pretty magical ;) And no offense at all, but as good as Infinity are, they don't possess the refined and sophisticated presentation and road feel of a BMW or Mercedes Benz.
