Times sound about right. Just bought a stock g37x coupe and took it to the track. It ran a 13.82 but it didn't grip and go like I thought it would. Maybe it was just the track surface. Actually spun all 4 wheels on the launch halfway through 1st gear. The shifting is slow to react to so you need to time your shifts 500 rpms before. All around a great car though. Very happy with my purchase.

max penrose yeah I agree. It takes some serious power to break traction like that in a awd. Chance are the very best the car was able to do was the time he said he ran but no spin.
max penrose depends on how much power goes to each set of wheels... the regular x model has 235 or maybe even 225 tires. It lacks the wider tires of the s model. If it even put 50% to the front of rear.. that would be 115hp and with a clutch dump at the possible 7500rpm redline I'm sure it would burn out a bit. My rwd model lights them up with 265's out back at around 3500 rpm from a dig
@ambientflier rwd IS THE WORST FOR WINTER DRIVING REGARDLESS IF U HAVE SNOW TIRES OR NOT! AWD DRIVE HELP YOU IN EVERY ASPECT GRIP THE ROAD MORE(DRY CONDITIONS) AND RAINY CONDTIONS SNOW ETC ETC... ITS A NO BRAINER!
@urstruly83 Not necessarily. Just because a car is awd doesn't mean it will handle great in the snow. Sometimes it's more for performance than anything.
@ambientflier On flat terrain, RWD with good tires is adequate. Add any kind of incline and you may as well park it. Every winter I see RWD cars parked all over the place because they can't make hills. This winter I had no problem pulling through all kinds of snow in my G37x, which would have left my old FWD Mazda 3 stuck.

@scm11904 Because people would destroy the drivetrain with redline clutch drops, like the evo and sti guys do. Btw, you don't need awd, you need snow tires. People drove for many decades without awd just fine.
I have driven both a AWD G37S and the RWD Q60S I presently own and the Q60 felt faster and slightly quicker handling. I found it odd that the other test of a 2WD showed 0-60 a full second slower then this car. Something odd there. I don't know of any G37 or Q60S that hits 60 in over 6 seconds unless taking off from a real bad surface. The AWD is heavier and it feels that way. Kind of like having a heavy set friend in the passenger's seat as opposed to driving alone so I am somewhat baffled by the difference in performance between this car in this video and the review of a 2WD of the same car.
If you watch their RWD G37 test, they burned the tires on launch, hence the slow times, but still a quick 100mph trap speed. But regardless, the 7AT got 3 mph faster in the 1/4 than the 5AT.
@@NOBOX7 depends on the surface of the road and if the 2wd looses traction. Where I noticed my 2014 Q60S shines is in passing power. It has the six speed and I can shift and accelerate faster while moving then the automatic AWD Q60 I tried. But I wonder about my car since it has a very odd serial number consisting of nothing but 1's and 0's. I have never seen a vehicle serial number with nothing but 1's and 0's before. Usually the automatic cars are quicker off the line but this one I have will smoke it's tires in both first and second. It is quick enough that I literally can not shift it fast enough from first to second at wide open throttle. It is like as soon as I let the clutch out and floor it it is at redline and I need to shift. It is almost that quick from second to third. And I have been driving manuals for decades so I know how to shift fast. If feels like my friends IPL but it does not say IPL anywhere. I bought it used so who knows. Maybe someone changed things but it looks bone stock under the hood and cosmetically.
I just bought a 2012 G37x Coupe with the Premium package with only 50,000 miles on it. With a great price and a small down payment I financed just over ten grand. For what is essentially an almost 50,000 dollar car brand new. There’s barely a blemish on the car inside and out. Luvvvv it. My only complaint would be the cabin/road noise inside the car.
@AngeloR674 Um...I drove a Mustang through a winter with snow tires on and it had more than enough grip to accelerate, stop, and turn with full control. How is awd going to help you, unless you're stuck in a snowdrift? Awd only helps you accelerate faster, which shouldn't be your priority in the snow.
The 335 is a tick better from a drivetrain performance standpoint. It's also at least $10K more expensive. My 335i sedan avgd 23 mixed, my conv avgs 22 mixed...the G37xS about 20 mixed...not much diff. Performance? The G37Xs handles better in the real world over the 335i. Can anyone help me with my Bose CD player/changer? We bought an 09 G37x a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if we pressed a button or combination of buttons, but now every time you start the car the stereo is on CD mode and the CD changer goes to track 2 on disc 2. It doesn't matter if you were previously listening to a radio station, using AUX input, or say on track 9 of disc 5. Not the biggest issue, but a bit annoying. I have cycled through the different Scan/RPT modes but it still does it. Otherwise the stereo works fine as well as everything else in the vehicle. Thanks in advance!
@AngeloR674 Um...you sure about that? I've had an 06 Mustang and an 04 Mazda 6 and the Mazda had all season tires and the mustang had winter tires, and the ford was by far a safer drive in the snow. And how does awd help you grip the road more in the dry?? It doesn't.
