I have a 2009 G37x that I bought in 2015 with 146,000 miles on it at the time. It now has 185,500 and it still fires up every day and runs great. I have done all three maintenance on schedule and believe me it is an amazing car. The only thing that has happened is a rubber collect hose started to leak. The check engine light has never been on. In the future I would consider a newer one with less miles. Also it is a beast in the snow
I have a 2008 G35X - 185,000 miles - only owner... Literally drove this car from the East Coast to the West Coast in year 8 of owning it. Amazing car! I had to replace gaskets at around 100k, but I pushed it hard back then and didn't change the oil at the scheduled maintanence mark. My favorite car to drive behind my 98 cadillac SLS, however the infiniti is much more dependable than the cadillac, so ill be keeping this thing until the wheels fall off.
I purchased a 2013 G37x for my 50th birthday. In 2017 when I purchased it, it had 10,800 miles (still like New) and its the best car I have ever purchased (my 3rd Infiniti).
Getting one this weekend. 2010 G37x coupe. Obviously has the AWD that kicks in with bad conditions. Only 50k on it. One owner. Serviced it's entire life by an Infinti dealer. Pretty excited
I just purchase a 2008 G35. Was not really looking for one as it was a bargain because of some minor body work that needed done. After driving it over the last week...this is one of the nicest cars I have ever drove. The rear wheel drive and smooth motor is awesome. With 130K it runs great with no issues. I am a fan and looking to pick up another one.
Nice video. As the owner of 2 G35x's, and 2 G37x's (over the years) Id like to point out some big points you missed. Mainly the comfort. Its not great. Short drives are OK but the seats are absolutely rock hard, and they get worse in the winter. I know this could be a deal breaker. And to me the comfort is so bad it negates all the positives. Now this discomfort was not always there. It seems to have gotten worse, my G35s were ok. But now with roads so torn up and only getting worse im gonna have to let go of the G (or Q40) On a cold winter night they basically ride like a freight train. And every single G I have owned has never gotten super hot in the winter (The temperature control) I recently had a Q50 loaner for the day. They listened to all the complaints about the G series and fixed them. Less road noise. Seats that actually have cushion. The ride is more supple and the handling was still great.
I have two g37s 2010coupe and 2011 sedan for the family & love both awd in New York no fear! Right on you’ll be able con conquer any challenges ahead with those babies!
My top 10 when I had my G37 1. The engine 2. The engine 3. The engine 4. The engine 5. The engine 6. The engine 7. The engine 8. The engine 9. The engine 10. The engine
Finally found a 2011 G37 from a dealer 2 weeks ago. Bought it and now it’s being returned for the dealer not disclosing the prior owner gutting the whole car underneath due to an air ride system. These cars are great if they are factory maintained.
Spent the better part of a year shopping around for a 2013 g37x back in 2015/2016. Nailed a deal on a car that had 3000 miles on it. Originally 32000 down to 24000. Loved that car. Until 3 Saturdays ago when a distracted driver on a highway decided to rear end me. Total loss. Currently on the search for the same kind of car but it's tough right now to find of that year that doesn't look beat to shit. Congrats on a wonderful piece of hardware you got.
Great video. Your assessments are right on. I have a 2013 G37xS. This car is actually called Nissan Skyline in Japan. Skyline is a heritage model in Nissan. It has a lot of racing history behind this name. It is a sport car in disguise for mass consumption:)
That's a real commitment to your TH-cam channel. Getting pulled over by the cops! In the market for a new car but what Nissan is putting out these days leaves much to be desired. In Hawaii, there’s a whole car community dedicated to the ‘G.’ That got me curious. The more research I do into Nissan's luxury badge, Infiniti, and its ‘G’ model, the more I want one. Thanks for a great top 10 reasons!
I have a 2011 G37 sedan and I bought it not knowing the flywheel was cracked drove just fine for 2 months then today it finally broke...just know if you buy one of these USED it’s probably been beat on so check everything throughly and they burn oil pretty fast besides that they’re great cars ! ( Also sounds great straight piped like mine)
Nice 👍🏼 video and good job, I love this car it’s really practical for a family. The only thing I wish they changed is the fuel ⛽️ type to Reg 87, instead of the premium fuel. Currently in the Northeast of US we’re paying about $3.25 a gallon , but a bit of a month ago prices were $3.60 a gallon.
I have a 2013 G37x sedan with nav, bought it with 38k miles in Oct. 2016 for $20k with a CPO warranty. It's a great drivers' car, and very nice inside too, a good deal for the money. I live in Chicago and the AWD helps a lot in snow. Here it is Sept of 2018 and I have not had ANY problems with it, it remains a wonderful car. Still makes me smile every time I drive it.

@@AIKINGBTC Thanks, They're Identical if you get the 3.7L Q50. The G37 is leaned more towards Performance and the Q50 is more Refined & Comfortable. It'll haul ass too don't get me wrong.
Best car I've ever owned (2013 4d, awd). Put 118k miles with no major repairs. My previous car was an 07' 335i which was more fun to drive but was broken ALL the time. This thing is a tank. It's not "great" at anything...but it's "good" at everything so its just an awesome value. Would buy another one tomorrow if I had to.
I am selling my 2005 G35 currently with 225k miles. It still has YEARS TO GO. I am waiting to sell it to stack the cash on top my savings to buy this Q40.
If you buying this car, you better not be complaining about gas mileage. The car eats gas, but it's also got a ton of power. It's the gear ratios that give the car bad gas mileage in the city. The HR engines are rock solid though. I would buy another one but I think I need an electric car now.
Someone did a hit and run on my 2011 G37x while parked in front of my house last week, I had it for 4 years, it's totaled so I'm looking at the Q40. I don't need AWD where I live, but I buy it with AWD anyways because if just feels better, even in the little bit of rain we get here. My only gripe with this car is that the back seats don't fold down. I used to have Subaru's and I was able to buy a wall heater at home depot, fold my back seats down and bring it home. Everything else is perfect on the car. I lowered mine, put some low profile tires. wheels and springs and it handled like a dream. I'm looking at buying another in the next week or two, I've never bought the same car back to back, but I'm in love with this body style as I feel it's timeless. They're not too expensive but they look and feel so luxurious.
Sorry to hear, that sucks! They definitely are a good value. In my opinion, these cars offer way more for the same price or less than cars like Accords. Good luck on your search.
I have owned an I35, G35, G37S (AWD) and now a Q50S (AWD) all over the last 18 years. The latest ... a Q50S is the best (3L twin Turbo). As for mileage… just piled on about 400 highway miles last weekend and averaged about 37MPG (Imperial gallons … I live in Canada) which translates to about 31 MPG US. That’s as good as or better than any 3.0L - 3.5L BMW or Mercedes. Comparing the Infiniti to either BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Audi, or any top end US make… Infiniti wins hands down. It’s the engine and quality of build that do it for Infiniti. My brother in Calif. has a 12-year-old G35 (100,000 miles) and that car is as solid as it was when new. BMW Audi or Mercedes will drive you to the poor house with maintenance and repair expenses.
A DRANKKK I've had my 2012 g37 sedan for 3 years with long commute . 139000 miles later and I've only had to change out the cats . Factory cats went bad . Car is fast as new and no other issues . If you don't live in the snow get the non x model.
Thanks for the info. I've been doing a mind-numbing amount of research and I've finally decided to purchase either an EX37 or G37x in the coming months depending on availability, mileage and $$$. These may actually be my perfect car when all is said and done, the EX37 has everything I want in a car, but I wouldn't be upset to wind up with a G series...
The EX37 would be nice if you are looking for a bit more room as it a crossover/SUV type of vehicle. The G37/Q40 does not have the biggest trunk space. There is enough room for groceries, but for bigger items it's my wife's Highlander. Both G37 and EX37 are similar and are a blast to drive. Good luck.
It's an option and it's not on all the time which is nice. Just kicks in on bad road conditions. Other times in regular conditions, all the power goes to the rear.
I have a 2012 G37x. Love the power and the handling. The auto transmission could feel like it is trying to search for the right gear at times. No issues in the Canadian winters with its awd. I have added an after market exhaust and 255 summer wheels. Wondering if anyone have gotten their G37 tuned for increase power and improved transmission performance? All in all...... a great car!
I have to disagree with the handling on the G37x sedan! My old G35x sedan handles a lot better than the G37x. After buying the G37X sedan, driving at 70 mph and doing lane change, their is to much body roll, I had no confidence in the car, I was very sad that the newer car was worst in handling than the older car. So after spending over 2k for F/R stabilizer bars, Swifts lowering springs, Cusco strut brace, and summer tires, the car now handles very nice and fun to drive again! I had a BMW M3 and this sedan now handles like 80% of the M3!
D • 9 totally agree, I know this is an old post but I own one and I do like it but 80 , 90 mph its froggy as heck. Very shakey and spooky, you better not move the steering will that much because it will go.
In my case, I am so happy that God gave me a Infiniti with the VQ37VHR engine. This engine sound is amazing, also it is reliable, durable, well known and fast. And the car itself has a great sound system and excellent quality materials and style for the price. All my cars have been from japan, and I like the fact that they share parts (as Infiniti with Nissan) and as my previous car, they are also easy to mantain. They are easy to sell, the next buyer knows he is buying a durable car. Everytime I drive this car with this engine VQ37, I enjoy it so much. 😍
ITSATRAP ! G37 S model is harsh but the regular g37 or Q40 with the 17 inch wheels are very smooth and handling is very good . The G is a driver's car and you feel very connected to the road . I've had mine for 3 years and I love this car . The interior is very nice. You might be able to tell the improvements over the G35 with the tan seats.
My ride quality was actually great. I live on a very bumpy highway in the country. I owned a Camry SE (Sport Edition) once and it was so rough I sold the car. The Q40 handles well, and absorbs the bumps much better. And you can push it in the corners. Also, the contour of the seat fit like a glove and held me in well around the curves. Just my two cents.
I was going to buy a g37 but the ones I kept finding were either to expensive or in bad shape with high miles. The ones with low miles were close to $18000 and up. So I found a 2008 g35 sedan with 32k miles pristine condition. Car is amazing
I have a BMW M3 and the Infiniti G37 and I like the Infiniti better as an overall daily drive. BMW M3 gets too much attention and people think you are richer than you are. I have a 2009 Infiniti G 37 styling is so great and its fun to drive and looks way more expensive than the car is. Lot of people think it looks like the new BMW 5 series.
Depends on if you're getting the Q50 with the VQ37 or the VR30 engine. The VQ has proven it's reliability, the VR has yet to do that, but since Nissan has been doing twin turbos since the GTR first came out I'm sure the VR30 is reliable as well.
About to pick up a 2010 G37x with 30k miles. I had a 07 G35, and fell in love, so I can't wait to grab this one. And I can attest..I have had Volvos, Saabs, and an Audi. This car is almost bulletproof. The reliability and value is second to NONE
Your gonna to find out the G37X handling is terrible from the G35X, you will need to spend some money at least on the Stabilizer bars for fewer body rolls and lower the car for better handling!
Hey Bill, I hope you reply to this as I would love to know your opinion. I found a 2013 Infiniti G25 RWD (not 37) V6 in a great condition and low mileage. What's good is that this 2.5L V6 is more fuel efficient but is it as reliable as the 3.7L? Are 2.5L engine parts of the same price range as the 3.7L?
Test drove a G25x before buying my 37x. Handling & braking were the same, but damn, you'll miss those 120 horses if you then drive the 37....not worth saving maybe 1-2mpg IMHO
snoozinatthetop I just bought a 2015 q40 with 84,000 miles yesterday. I paid 10,900. Do a thorough test drive and get a pre purchase inspection. Mine has impeccable service records and was garage kept. I’m already in love with the car. Just feels solid and it’s fast as hell. I also chose a q40 over q50 because those have issues with their drive by wire steering. Also the q40 is a Z disguised as a family sedan. This video and the comments were helpful in my decision to purchase this car,
Bought my 2008 G37 Coupe Sport way back in 2010 used and it's given me so many problems. I suspect that there were already existing issues that the dealer hid. That said, I still love my car.
My wife drivesa c300 4matic and doesn’t like the harsh ride. The car drives and handles great but it’s the sport package . She got a good deal on it but we’re now thinking of getting a G37X for New England winters. Since it’s AWD AND HAS EXTRA weight in drivetrain does it ride as solid as the the Mercedes c300. 4matic sport. Just wondering if anyone switched from similar.
Why am I here when I drive a 2014 Nissan Altima? Well it’s relatively fast for a 4 cylinder. 0-60 in 7.6 seconds for a 183 ponies car is actually 👌🏼 but that’s CVT transmission is NOT it.
Get the nav package for bluetooth capabilities besides using the phone. It's unfortunate that many reviews don't talk about this. Oh yea, and the USB only supports Apple, not Android. I have a 2013 G37x

Love my G35 .. was a BMW fan owned 6 . Shocked at how incredibly reliable these infinity Gs are.
Also it is a beast in the snow
how is it now?

A Luke why a 2013 when you could of gotten a 2014 q50
A Luke... that sounds like the car i traded, silver, black interior and upgraded interior lighting.

Finally found a 2011 G37 from a dealer 2 weeks ago. Bought it and now it’s being returned for the dealer not disclosing the prior owner gutting the whole car underneath due to an air ride system. These cars are great if they are factory maintained.
i shopped around for a few months and found a 2013 G37x being sold by its original owner and had to have it. i LOVE my G!

Thanks!
Duke A I've read that if you put lower octane the ECU adjusts to it to the detriment of performance and fuel economy. Don't "knock" it off.

It eats gas because people don't know how to drive. You should be able to get 17-18 city in this if you're not flooring it all day long
Revving the engine on a cold start 😭😭😭
Same thought of mind😂😐
How the heck did they hit your car and not wreck theirs?
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
I'm looking to pick one of these up used ... have you had any major problems besides regular maintenance?
A DRANKKK none whatsoever. It's been super reliable.
A DRANKKK I've had my 2012 g37 sedan for 3 years with long commute . 139000 miles later and I've only had to change out the cats . Factory cats went bad . Car is fast as new and no other issues . If you don't live in the snow get the non x model.
hey man, just wondering did u end up getting it? if u did , how was it ? was it reliable?
Good luck.

Are all of them AWD or is that an option? Also do you have to use premium gas? Thanks so much, love your videos.
It's RWD with AWD as an option. Premium gasoline required.
92+ octane is mandatory on our cars. AWD is an option.
I have the 37 I would like to know
I agree too! I love my QX50 with the same wonderful engine. The real VQ37VHR and not the new 2.0 L 4 cil. …. I'm so sad about it... :O(
I love this car.
Lol you guys overeact
In my case, I am so happy that God gave me a Infiniti with the VQ37VHR engine. This engine sound is amazing, also it is reliable, durable, well known and fast. And the car itself has a great sound system and excellent quality materials and style for the price. All my cars have been from japan, and I like the fact that they share parts (as Infiniti with Nissan) and as my previous car, they are also easy to mantain. They are easy to sell, the next buyer knows he is buying a durable car.
Everytime I drive this car with this engine VQ37, I enjoy it so much. 😍

How's the ride comfort, quality? I feel like the ride is a little harsh and bouncy. And the interior/refinement is still the same as a G35.

Which is more reliable, q40 or q50? Really stuck between the two
Depends on if you're getting the Q50 with the VQ37 or the VR30 engine. The VQ has proven it's reliability, the VR has yet to do that, but since Nissan has been doing twin turbos since the GTR first came out I'm sure the VR30 is reliable as well.

Your gonna to find out the G37X handling is terrible from the G35X, you will need to spend some money at least on the Stabilizer bars for fewer body rolls and lower the car for better handling!

I hope you reply to this as I would love to know your opinion. I found a 2013 Infiniti G25 RWD (not 37) V6 in a great condition and low mileage. What's good is that this 2.5L V6 is more fuel efficient but is it as reliable as the 3.7L? Are 2.5L engine parts of the same price range as the 3.7L?
Nabil M The G37/3.7L is about $5k more expensive if you’re buying it new, but a bit more expensive for the used ones
