For those of you who feel that the Nissan 370Z is a tad too harsh and unrefined, Infiniti offers the G37S just for you. Entering the final year of the second generation, this model still offers an appealing combination of performance, luxury, and tech. Just be sure you're okay with the rather harsh sounding V6 and curvaceous body.
I love this car. Had a 2009 sedan and now 2015 coupe. Absolutely bullet proof. Never took either to a garage... Just oil, tires & fluids. Coupe is a blast to drive and very good value. More of a GT than a sports car. The AWD is excellent. Basically a rear wheel drive that seamlessly adds power to the front only is the rear run out of traction. So you get a nice throttle induced oversteer and with the torque vectoring it takes corners very well. AND you can put a stillen blower on it, keep the Infiniti warranty and put down 450 to the wheels on a stock motor. AND it is substantially more affordable than a BMW to buy or to maintain.
I have the 2010 sedan. Love it as well. Been debating for a year to trade it in for something more fuel efficient but I love the car too much to get rid of it.

Having owned both and loved both. I choose Infiniti since my 335i was in ths shop...A LOT!

@@Xboxlove1 5 years ago but infiniti imitates BMW most closely, Lexus is like Japan’s Mercedes. Acura is FWD based so I guess is safe to assign them as the Japanese luxury car make that most imitates Audi? That is a stretch though.
They are not brembo brakes
I have a 370z with the same brakes. They are infact made by akebono. Nissan/Infiniti ditched brembo after the g35/350z

@@alpz36 They all will stop about the same; tires play a larger role typically for braking and handling. As far as brake fade goes and lower temps, the Akebonos have a much larger rotor size, and will keep temps cooler over extended braking (14” and 13.8” vs 12.8” and 12.7”).

I've always loved the g37 coupe. The sedan is just as nice but there is no denying the coupe outsells it's sedan counterpart. Awesome review as always

There actually pretty equal. The sedan sold so much and thats for regular or enthusiasts minded ppl. Especially since you actually get the same when choosing Sedan or Coupe, so I love it its like saying pick your poison. If anything on a chart or percentage comparison example, Id say maybe the coupe sells a bit more but like maybe 2 3 cars more? But im under the impression its like almost dead tied.
God i miss this era of Infiniti, seeing this review is like seeing a time capsule where infiniti was once great and actually competitive!

I'm a Nissan fan, always grew up with them. Still do, but I don't think the G37 is better then the 3 series. I do believe the G35 was better then the 3 series during it's era.

You definitely feel the difference between a FWD chassis and a RWD chassis.
The car has a reasonable amount of power, seriously if you have 500 HP + where would you use it unless on track? can't do it an open road. 330 HP is more than enough.
It DOES have a trunk release, its on the right side of the left taillight!!
Not trying to be an ass, but around the 7 min mark you said that there's no exterior trunk release on the trunk lid like in the past. That's because the button for the trunk release is on the left tail light. Its the chrome button.

You need to have the remote with you In order to use the button on the doors of lock and unlock the doors, and to use the button on the back of the car to open the trunk.
That Infiniti exhaust note growl is orgasmic. The best in class from my experience after test driving every one of the competition.
You can access the trunk from the exterior - If you have the smart FOB in your pocket, press the silver button on the drivers side taillight. Also, accessing rear seats, there is a small black button near the flip-up handle on the top of the seats, which automatically slides the seats forward.

We'd have to agree with you. The Accord 6-speed V6 takes around 5.9 secs to hit 60. This car is a half second quicker.
As a used car under 30k, this is probably the best all-in-one car you can buy
When they changed the body style from the G35 to the G37 I called it the female version because they made lines softer and sexier.
I have a 2012 G37x in Graphite Shadow, luv it. I do envy the black on this 2008. The low miles on mine was irresistible, suppose I could get it painted at some point.

They make great used cars, just keep in mind the gas and insurance bill may be quite high. Also, watch your right foot, it's quite easy to speed in these things ;)

The Infiniti G37 came out as a 2dr. coupe first in 2008 but as a RWD only, and in 2009 the G37 sedan came out, that's when they introduced AWD on the Coupe on that same year. 2008 was the last year for the G35 Sedan and 2007 was the last year for the G35 Coupe, just so you know.

There is a truck button on the outside on the driver side tail light. Just make sure you have your key in range.

Nads well its not so far if you take the ferry but just a suggestion there's a 2008 g37s coupe for 13995 in Naugatuck, CT. I believe it is there but I don't know for sure, only problem is it has over 75,000 miles on it but for that price, its worth a look! Looks exactly like the one in the video.

Still driving this 2013 G37 IPL 6MT in 2020 90k miles strong. Everything is still original with just oil, brake and tire changes.
In regards to the top comment of him being rough with shifts. Infiniti and Nissan has the worst clutch pedals I have ever driven. It’s very difficulty to drive smooth from 1st to 2nd.
I drive a 08 G37S 6MT and god damn the shift from 1st to 2nd always sucks for me but sometimes, on a rare occasion, it feels normal lmao
Ive been looking at luxury coupes and the g37 is def a great buy. It should easily be on the top of anyone's list. The 335 is comparable but man is it so much more.
I bought a 2019 all black 370Z sport coupe 6M and really love it. It is similar to this G37S but I do prefer having the stiffer suspension and lighter weight of my Z. Both cars are very solidly made with excellent build quality.
Great car but man what a cheap looking interior they had back then. Makes Acura interiors feel like an S class Mercedes compared to this.
i would gladly trade my genesis coupe for a G37 or a G35. I absolutely love the way they look and sound. G coupes always seem to catch my attention on the road wish i could afford a G37 or at least find a G35 with less than 35k miles.
The G35 coupe sounds better. It just has that lusty exhaust purr
I love this car and the G35 coupe as well. It's so hard to find a used manual version that doesn't have a ton of miles or is not junked up with awful mods. The prices on these are pretty steep for a used one in good condition because they are so rare. Such a beatutuful car!

Getting a 2008 G37S with a 6 speed, and I believe there's not much change throughout the years except the facelift around 2011, right?

Jay Low do you hear a y rattle when driving? I test drove one today. It had rattling sound in the back, possibly from rear passenger door panel. So do you get any of that?
Never heard of that one. You sure you didn't mean don't rest your foot on the clutch instead? That's a well known fact that will cause early clutch wear but the shifter is designed to be touched and handled, why would simply resting your hand on it cause it to wear out the gearbox?

@ 7:00 - on the left-rear light, there is a silver button. That is your trunk release. Hope this helps! BTW I bought one of these yesterday. ;)

great review of this car. i've been looking into a luxury performance car but not wanting to go new just yet, especially when most makers are ditching the manual.
Why do these so-called test drivers feel that they have to force the transmission through the gears at a super rapid pace instead of letting the mechanical linkage work at its own pace.? This is a good way to damage the transmission, there's no reason to force it so quickly through the gears.

2008 g37s loaded to the max.. Silver with limo tint.auto .. 79k miles under warrenty til 105k miles

Akebono brakes not Brembo. Trunk release button is on the rear driver taillight (only works if key fob is near it).
Just Curious: does this car need a clutch replacement like the g35 does every 80k miles or so?
How do you think the AWD 2010 Infiniti G37x Coupe model will compare to this one as well as to the 335i?
awd model is the same exact car, just awd and slightly less better gas mileage. bmw's are nicer but cost more to maintain
The BMW 335i is probably the better car in many ways. Nicer engine, lower weight, better handling and balance, larger trunk, a functional back seat for adults, and more of a prestige label.
The downside is horrible run flat tires (no spare), smaller gas tank, and lower reliability. Don't buy one off warranty unless you have deep pockets. They have issues with high pressure fuel pumps, the turbos, wastegates and a few other things.
The G37 will probably be much more reliable, less costly to buy and maintain, for a similar driving experience.

There is a trunk release botton. It is integrated on the left tail light.
The G37 is a great car and will be more reliable than it's German competitors but the lack of engine refinement and clunky shifter is a deal breaker. I would take a BMW 335i despite the reliability issues because performance wise it's everything you could want and that I6 motor just revs so silky smooth it's unreal.

I agree. I bought one for 5k, lowered and added sway bars, IPL wheels, intake and oil cooler. Take it to the track, the country club, cruise PCH, road trip to Napa, Vegas. BMW 335is are quickly depreciating into this range, but won't be as reliable, or, in my opinion, good looking.
