This feels to me almost like a continuation of the theme from the original. The high pitched wailing (resembling the witches) from the original along with its slower tempo feels like a summoning ritual. This is the completion of that ritual, this theme sounding much more aggressive yet somber, as if the world is ending. Fitting considering this version of baphomet is so much harder.
Yeah she's challenging but fair imo, and doesn't need too much memorization to learn how to fight against her (cough TIAMAT), also most weapons are viable against it, so you will not run into "I can only hurt her with flare guns but I only brought ammo for the other weapons" situations. Easily the most fun boss to fight against (can't talk about final boss tho, didn't reach it yet)
This was my 5th boss my first playthrough.. .took a few tries but I learned to dodge almost everything she throws at you. Then when I did the boss rush, turns out she was supposed the be the 7th XD

This was bar none the hardest boss for me in the entire game. You literally have to get up close to her and jump to attack her, but she'll always counter with those fucking energy shots, and with the crap jump movement in this game, it makes it that much harder to dodge. This music is very beautiful, in a Touhou sort of way, but it'll always remind me of the sheer misery that Baphomet put me through
Yeah, Palenque makes even some of the hardest shmup bosses blush. I recently played this game again and he killed me in under 10 seconds like 15 times. I don't see it being possible to kill him without using sub-weapons@@LampreyKisses
Baphomet has been used as the image for Satan but I do not think Lucifer uses that kind of imagery. Anyway, quite sad since Baphomet is quite benevolent in reality.

Palenque is just too hard to find without guide imo

I actually kind of prefer it that way because Baphomet was laughably pathetic in the original game.
If you really want misery, beat Palenque without using sub-weapons. I gave up on that challenge because of him.
