More of a cyborg face IMHO. Which I guess kinda makes a _little_ more sense (since the giants obviously aren’t undead, they’re just dead), but honestly not by much (why weren’t any of the other dead giants you passed by also made into killer cyborgs?). >_
@@tdark987 I think the lore is that Sakit actually sort of IS undead, because some sixth children tried to bring him back to life. (This might be LM2 related, I haven't finished that game yet so I don't know.) That, or second children don't actually die of old age in the same way we do, their bodies just decay more and more until you're basically talking to a skeleton. That could be why there are a couple NPCs in Graveyard that just look like Giant skeletons. (And also the other skeleton NPCs might be barely surviving 6th children.)

You ever tried syncing this up with Sakit's theme from the original La-Mulana? I swear, it's the only track in the game to fit perfectly, and hearing both of them is sex for the ears

Please forgive me if I'm lacking in terminology--despite my musical inclination--but... All of the Guardian songs that I've encountered have a melody that plays 3 times in a row, each one with a shifted pitch (sometimes just shifted tonality) in the beginning of their theme. Compare "High-Speed Beast" with "King Konda", since "Giant's Rage" is the only one you're having trouble with, and you can easily see this. I may be completely wrong as I've only encountered three Guardians However, with "Giant's Rage", there AT FIRST appears to be just two related sets--with the third set sounding vastly different than the first two. However, the first two sets are using a (synthesized) form of wind instrument with a very low pitch that plays only *two* ascending notes during each set. The reason the third set is not obviously related to the first and second set is because there is a layer of another "instrument" laid on top when the third set is played--this additional louder instrument plays at a much higher pitch and takes dominance in the melody. But upon listening closer to that third set, you hear the same instrument again play *two* notes...this time in descending order. A super verbose explanation for something so simple, but I was impressed by you noticing that all the Guardian themes had a leitmotif and certainly that is steps beyond the average listener anyways!

EarthPhantomTS I don't believe anyone needs any "particular musical theory aptitude" to be able to pick up on a common musical theme (which explains why I, too, could notice it). My being impressed mainly stemmed from someone mentioning it--here in some little nook of TH-cam--instead of providing a generic comment that doesn't really contribute to any discussion. EarthPhantomTS Even if it doesn't have the same exact beats, its still sort of there. Also, there's a bunch of "mechanical" whirrs and sounds that can be heard throughout, that are also present in the Tower of the Goddess and Tower of Ruin.

Between this boss theme and "Grand History", Mausoleum of the Giants is probably my favorite area in La-Mulana......
