Aside from jokes and not being able to speak for two weeks, Shaye looks genuinely happy and it warms my heart seeing her like that. I hope she loves her new voice when she can speak again. I'm in the process of transitioning myself and hope one day I can finally feel comfortable in my own skin
Awww, silent Shay is adorable!!! ❤ "Did you have anything you wanna add?" 😅 The LOOK! Excited for you both in this next step along your journey. Your channel has really taught me so much about being open minded and seeing things in a new, healthier way. To really let each person live without judgement and enjoy their life experiences. You're so honest and sincere. It's actually affecting how I interact with my coworkers, strangers in public, etc. I hope I'm spreading acceptance and respect for others. Love you guys!
I actually loved Shaye's "old" voice, but so excited to hear her new voice! Whatever you need to feel more yourself is worth everything. Life is too short to feel uncomfortable in your own skin. Hugs to you both❣
Shaye's eye rolls get me everytime. Amanda, you are amazing. My god child is trans, my wish is for them to find someone as supportive as you to share their life.
You are my source of inspiration to continue with my transition. At firtst I thought you were millionaires hahahaha, but when I saw your videos I discovered that you are very normal people, and I love that... It's incredible that the city where I live has the best and most modern subway system in the entire American Continent, and that in San Francisco, which is supposed to be the mecca of high technology, its public transportation is not so modern nor with so many works of art... I send you a big hug from Santiago de Chile, my prayers will be focused on Shaye's recovery (my city is similar to Salt Lake City, surrounded by snowy mountains in winter).
I actually liked Shaye's old voice, it didn't sound masculine to me. Husky and Dusky, maybe, but lots of women have this type of voice. I'm looking forward to hearing the new voice -x-
The surgery doesn't really make the voice higher, it basically cuts off the deeper range, silences it and forces you to speak in a higher range in order to be heard. It will take a very long time before Shay can speak comfortably so be patient.
absolutely stoked for shaye but honestly im mostly curious about where you got that fawn patterned blanket i was staring at it the entire time it looks adorable and cozy
Shaye’s expressions are everything! Haha San Fran is one of my favorite cities! I am also from a small town in Utah but left in my teens. Heal quick Shaye!
Welcome home, but glad you enjoyed my home San Francisco. Relieved to hear so far so good surgery wise, and I’m sure you will be pleased with the results. Thank you Amanda and Shaye for the update.💕👍
Good for you and thanks as always for educating and demystifying various gender affirming care procedures. I hope Shaye feels more comfortable with her new voice.
City Light is iconic! Years ago I was lucky enough to see Lawrence Ferlinghetti out in front of the store hosing down the pavement outside the store. Even shyly snapped a photo- long before phone cameras.
Medical Technology is absolutely amazing 😅in our world today.i am so happy for Shay and hope this helps her feel more comfortable. I think you are drop dead gorgeous and I'm a straight 73 yr old grandma. Congratulations and Happy Holidays to you both and your family. I admire you both so much.🙏👍🥰🙏👍🥰
Thank you for sharing your story with us. This has been a long journey and its so cool you are still together and that you can sew Shaye some very cool clothes.
Shaye doesn’t need to speak to be her funny self. She had me laughing. Good luck on your healing journey and we are all excited for you and this next step!
Shaye, I know I'm a stranger on the internet, but I am so happy for this update! I know 2 weeks seems like a really long time not to speak, so I'm sending you all of my comfy vibes ❤ Hope you're feeling well! Xoxo
I live 25 minutes away from SF. Yes. The food in Oakland, SF, and other little cities like San Pablo, etc. is freaking phenomenal. I'm glad you had a good time. I hope your recovery goes very well Shaye! 🩷
No whispering and no speaking! No laughing too much, too! I had to get my surgery done twice because I got into an argument with my ex and my stitched vocal cords got undone.
I love your story. Thank you for sharing. You both have such a loving and generous approach to everyone that it brings me peace. I encourage you to have more children because the three you have seem awesome. The world needs more people like your family.
Looking well, hopefully lots of healing going on. Never been to San Francisco but felt we got an insight into the history through Tales from the City. Armistad has recently become a British citizen so I was lucky to hear him talk recently in the UK. Stay well.
Glad to hear your feeling ok. Blessing on the healing. ❤️🩹 That was funny about your son. As if you lost every ability to communicate. Lol 😂 Kids are funny. Thank you for the update. Best wishes as it progresses.
I live and own a jewelry business in SF. I wish I could have made the two of yooz a keepsake for your journey and experience. I look forward to hearing Shaye's progress and recovery results. I have been considering the same procedure for myself. oh, also, i had the same experience with being nervous to ride the public transit. I also had no good idea about the topography of SF and so i tried to use maps n straight lines from point A to B and would run smack dab into an almost vertical staircase where a sidewalk was supposed to be... First place I went to was City Lights, then North Beach to hit up the restaurants. The Tenderloin is def an experience to behold and cannot be properly explained with words. it must be witnessed first hand to get it... and, yes, SF has the first and only Trans District and also a full year before the Stonewall Riots there was a riot in the tenderloin or castro by trans women because the west coast had already reached the boiling point and had enough police shakedowns and beatings and denial of human rights and dignity...It happened first in SF ladies ;). OKAY, best wishes and a speedy recovery please from Jacqueline the Jeweler in SF area... ...
I currently live on the southern Oregon coast, but as a native Californian, I did get to visit San Francisco on occasion. I prefer to live in smaller towns, but I always very much enjoyed going to San Francisco. It's a wonderful city in terms of cultures, vistas, art, music, architecture, people, museums, food, etc.. I'm glad that you two liked SF as well.
As a fellow trans woman I totally relate to the voice thing, I’ve had a vocal cyst for 8 years which hopefully will finally get fixed this week 🙏😊. Good luck with your recovery ❤
I am a straight cis women but doing my best to be an ally for trans and queer people. I'm so happy that all of these procedures are available and getting better and better these days. I know a lot of trans women who actually look more passing than I do 😄 but I think its so important to submit a realistic view of this. (In the following I am talking about the experiences Ive witnessed from trans friends and I think other trans people reading this, might profit from these knowledge and are more prepared )Being in the lgbtq+ community for almost 20 years and having many trans friends, I think its important to admit that no matter how passing you are, you still at some moments will feel body dismorphobia. Throughout the years I met a lot of trans people who were obsessed with feminization procedures. They hoped that at one point they will feel "complete" but this never occured. In retrospective they admitted that not every procedure wouldve been necessary. The focus always needs to be on the mental first! To understand that being a women looks different for everybody and that you can feel like a women, without being 100% passing is so important!!! Society needs to finally accept that there isnt only one way to be a women! I know trans women where the only visible feminine feature about them is the wig they wear. But they are so confident in their gender, that they dont even try to prove others about it. They are women, no matter how the majority of society views them. Period! What I am trying to say is, if you deeply wish for all of these surgeries, go ahead! But if you might just do it to be more digestable for the society and not because of your own needs, I hope you dont put yourself through all of this pain, stress and risks! Take a deep breath and ask yourself: " for whom am I doing this?" There is absolutly nothing wrong with you being visibly trans. Society needs to change, not you ! 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈❤🫂
Amanda really knows what colors to wear. That’s blue dress in the add?!?!?!?!?! Such a great color in you! Wishing Shaye a great recovery. Voice rest is so hard!
Aaaahhh!!!! I’ve been looking everyday in here for the past few days to hear your new voice Shaye! I’m waiting with SO MUCH anticipation for your next video. I can imagine your voice needs rest. But... When can we hear your beautiful voice???
That’s awesome. I’ve currently came out to my woman and she says if I transition she’s leaving. So after 5 years and our family we have created I just have to decide what is best. My son is 15 and my daughter is only 2. I was raised conservative and baptist so I understand where some people are coming from to an extent, However I don’t think many truly understand and are just scared of the unknown. Good luck with your healing you are truly lucky to have a wife that loves you ❤
I'm so excited to hear the results of this, I didn't know this surgery existed until I saw you announce Shay was having it! So thrilled, this is something ive seen my ex and my friends struggle with. Ive also seen the complete heart break when someone points the voice out. Or dont point it out, but its still a 5 hour vocal theraphy a day at home anyway. I cant wait, so happy for you, Shay! And for all trans women, I also hope its avaliable for trans men ❤❤❤❤
I'm very curious about this, because many of voice therapists that were friends of mine during college activism advised me against such surgeries saying that is not worth it, but techniques are always evolving so I'm hope shaye get an amazing result
Yes! There are different techniques out there (due to advancements in recent years) with various degrees of risk. While every surgery has its risk, I went with a surgeon that has a higher success rate with her approach. Everyone should due careful research when electing to do a surgery like VFS. Time will tell for me. ♥️
Just love you both. Both of you are beautiful in mind and body. My wife would love for me to get this surgery so I couldn’t talk for two weeks. Keep up the good incredible videos.
Shaye needs to carry around a notepad and pen. Maybe a dry erase board and markers. Or she’ll just text you everything. 😂😂😂 So glad it went well. Love you two beautiful ladies so much. May I ask, off topic, where did you get that blanket ? I love it !
Of course it's up to the individual to decide what's best for them. I wish you the best in your recovery. Shaye’s eye rolls were cracking me up. Congrats on this step in your journey-can’t wait to hear what her voice sounds like!
I loved that, too! I am a professional at said eye rollage!! 🙄😏
It's wonderful that both of you can maintain your sense of humor during very challenging times. I admire that!! 😊
Aside from jokes and not being able to speak for two weeks, Shaye looks genuinely happy and it warms my heart seeing her like that. I hope she loves her new voice when she can speak again. I'm in the process of transitioning myself and hope one day I can finally feel comfortable in my own skin

I saw this pop up and said out loud, "OOO! An update!" :-D I love that you two still banter even though Shaye has to do so without voice right now
I actually liked Shaye's old voice, it didn't sound masculine to me. Husky and Dusky, maybe, but lots of women have this type of voice. I'm looking forward to hearing the new voice -x-
Yeah, it didn't sound that masc but what matters is that she's comfortable in her own skin and if she needs surgery for that then so be it.
The surgery doesn't really make the voice higher, it basically cuts off the deeper range, silences it and forces you to speak in a higher range in order to be heard. It will take a very long time before Shay can speak comfortably so be patient.

Thanks for the update! So glad you enjoyed your stay. ** hugs and shrugs from SF **
I can't get over how gorgeous you both are 🥹😊
THEY ARE BOTH BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT!
I'm glad the surgery went well, Shaye. Good look with the speech therapy... & Amanda, you're a gem 😊.
Love you guys, the journey is such a long and difficult one. Wish I was further, but I'm so proud of you both.
Shaye I wish you the best of luck on your recovery and can’t wait to hear your new voice. I myself am looking forward to my vocal surgery next month 😊
I love the way she spoke prior but am very excited to hear her new melody to her speech ❤
Welcome home, but glad you enjoyed my home San Francisco. Relieved to hear so far so good surgery wise, and I’m sure you will be pleased with the results. Thank you Amanda and Shaye for the update.💕👍
Just love your sweet family. Also you both are the most beautiful women!!! I won’t be surprised to see you guys doing major ads someday.

I have a hard time not talking when I’m alone. I can’t imagine how hard that must be for Shaye! Best of luck to you!
Shaye, I know I'm a stranger on the internet, but I am so happy for this update! I know 2 weeks seems like a really long time not to speak, so I'm sending you all of my comfy vibes ❤ Hope you're feeling well! Xoxo

Oh no, how long after surgery did you have the argument?
Wishing you a speedy recovery Shaye ❤ I can’t wait to hear your new voice and I bet you can’t wait to be able to talk again !

Known someone was instructed not to talk for several weeks. That must be driving Shaye nutty.
Yes I can’t imagine not talking for 2 weeks !

San Francisco is made for wandering. I adore everything about that city. And the public transit is phenomenal.
As a fellow trans woman I totally relate to the voice thing, I’ve had a vocal cyst for 8 years which hopefully will finally get fixed this week 🙏😊. Good luck with your recovery ❤

This no 🗣️ speaking communication situation can be easily remedied with paper/ notepad and 📝 and ✍🏻 writing utensil 💙! 😂😂😂❤🎉
And learning some basic sign language! That can be a useful still with the deaf community too.
Or.... Texting.... 😂
😍🤣😜🤪🫣 Right??? ✔️✅️🤣😁

This is so exciting. And I love the word womanicure!
I think that the word is manicure because in Spanish the word for hands is the masculine noun manos.
So you went to SF and fell among cutthroats. Gotta love the City by the Bay. Hope you heal quickly and love your new voice.
🤣🤣🤣

Just love you both. Both of you are beautiful in mind and body. My wife would love for me to get this surgery so I couldn’t talk for two weeks. Keep up the good incredible videos.

Shaye resembles a younger Minnie Driver. (Lovely). Congrats on the surgery. Looking forward to the new voice.😊
🎉🎉Congratulations, another step in building your persona ❤❤❤❤❤
I absolutely love San Francisco!!!
Glad you guys enjoyed SF. Have you ever been to Vancouver🇨🇦? Hope you are all doing well xx
I was in Vancouver in Canada once MANY years ago and found it to be nice city too. It actually reminded me a bit of San Francisco.
@@darleneengebretsen1468 ya its sort of similar.
Thanks! Great video!
You are so beautiful women, i proud of you ❤ thanks for sharing your experience
Looking forward to hearing your new voice, Shaye! I hope this helps you feel more comfortable ❤
Thanks for sharing!!!❤
Curious if this surgery was under GA or not
Of course it's up to the individual to decide what's best for them. I wish you the best in your recovery. However, it is possible for someone who has gone through a male puberty to develo a female voice without surgery. I speak from personal experience. So I would definitely try non surgical techniques before considering surgery. I originally started with a techniques where you only get vibrations on the lower half of your throat. You basically go way back in your throat like when you gargle. I eventually learned about head voice VS chest voice. So added head voice to what I was already doing.
You two are such an inspiration. Love, power, blessings and much more to you two and your family ❤. Stay well.
All the best Shaye. I hadn’t seen you both since I left TikTok.
6 for a speedy recovery. I can't wait to hear her new voice.
So does this mean we gonna get more videos with you talking after you recover from this surgery?
Duh.
