I adore you both. I appreciate your open hearts. Being a straight 72 year old celibate woman who has struggled with being disassociated from my body and my emotions most of my life I found myself in tears as you shared your story of transition, commitment to your authenticity and love of each other. Thank you.

I’m a 55 year old lesbian who came out in 1984 at age 16 and I thought THAT was terrifying. I can’t even imagine how difficult it’s been for you both. I love you both and you’re heroes for your courage to face all the challenges and then for sharing your stories. ❤

Yes, I feel the same way, though I am 82 and for me transgender honestly has never been an issue as for me, it’s the PERSON who is important. However, I grew up in a strict, very traditional, more medieval approach Catholic in a small town in Germany (WWII & post) and struggled for years later to free myself from all dogmas, intimidations & fears. Though by far not as severe struggle as you confronted, it took many years of finding true inner spirituality, free from organized religion, leading to inner peace.
You both are a remarkable couple. ❤️

I cried when I was diagnosed finally with MS after years of schizophrenia misdiagnosis. I feel like this moment where Shaye talks about discovering the diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria, and how emotional it was is very relatable. I have heard this same sentiment from many friends/ family who have other long-term or more complicated diagnosis journeys that have absolutely nothing to do with gender or gender expression at all.
These personal and intimate videos do so much to show people how truly typical the whole of human experience is. I think it's so effective in contributing to long-term change and acceptance of all people, regardless of perceived differences.
Humanity is a better place because of you ladies and your content.

I wish the world would look at people like you and see how hate isn’t the answer. You are a shining example of how we can love and respect and appreciate and learn from differences even if we don’t understand, or agree, or have questions, or need more time to process. The answer should never ever be a quick and automatic hatred. We need more hearts like yours in this world.

This is all just different from what i know. It will take me a long time to understand everything but I’m happy for both of you. You both are so genuine in your journey and your relationship. Thank you for being so open and sharing your experiences. I have a 23yr old trans daughter, (we’re in the UK) who has been out as trans since 2020, though like Shaye she has known since she was about 3yrs old. She too found school tough, going through puberty and struggling with her identity; high school was not a happy time for her. I knew she was struggling with something, I just never knew what. When she told me it was a shock as I had never seen it coming, but with time and hindsight it’s clear the signs were there from childhood, if I had only been able to see. A lot of what you talked about resonates with me…we have been heartwarmed by the almost universal acceptance her authentic identity has received from family and friends, we too have found that when it’s personal, and the trans person is already known to you, somehow a lack of understanding of their situation is no barrier to continued love and support. My daughter may look different on the outside but she is still essentially the same person we’ve always loved. My 80yr old mum is one of her biggest supporters regardless of her strong Christian faith, and will correct people who misgender her. My son was married in October, and my new daughter in law asked my daughter to be one of the bridesmaids…my daughter was moved to tears to be asked, it was a huge honour as well as a public statement of acceptance.

I am so proud of both of you. You can see your love for each other shine through. It’s not easy going against a religion. The fact that you were able to become the woman you knew was inside shows on the outside too. I hope as each day passes more and more people will start to realize we are who we are regardless of the race and sex or gender we are force to adhere to when we are born. Life evolves and we learn new things everyday. Maybe not in my lifetime but hopefully in yours and your children’s it will.

You mentioned something about your transition becoming personal to people around you and how they learned love and acceptance. I have been following your videos.I am an older trans woman and I appreciate watching your family transition . I decided to comment while watching this video where Shay made a comment about her body discomfort at the beginning of puberty. I totally understand how that felt. When I was a child/teen I did the escape into the bathroom with makeup too. I was a large kid and when I looked in the mirror I hated the image I saw. I felt hopeless probably more than you because I was in a generation that knew nothing at all about transgender or any queerness. What I really want to say is that I totally understand what you are saying. Thank you for a sincere honest presentation. I wish your family the best .Love Marie

Thank you for this video. I wanted to touch a little on a part of the video (around 22:30 mark) where you (Amanda) said that, sometimes she’ll look over at you and say, “People really don’t care, do they? Like this is really okay, huh?” It’s true. I think there’s a weird misconception between human beings where one thinks the other is automatically against the other because of religious or political stances, beliefs, what have you. And that’s just not the case. Of course, there are very, VERY close minded people on both sides of the fence and I respect their boundaries the same way I’d expect them to respect mine. But then there are those (like myself) who don’t believe there’s a fence at all because we’re all in this field of life together.
Thank you, again, for sharing your lives with us.

I found your channel through Skylar and the Five to Love channel I have watched forgot years now. I love seeing how supportive Skylar is to you guys. My son’s bio dad came out as trans female to me a year after we ended things for unrelated reasons. I have been supportive since she told me. Some think I am crazy because she is my “ex” but like that’s my child’s other parent and we have been friends since 2007. Yeah things were toxic after we had our son but she has changed so much since she made her transition. I e get along better now than ever before.

I learn so much from every video and Shaye's journey (and Amanda''s too) really opened my eyes for SO much. It's really inspiring and educative to hear you both talk with so much openness and honesty. I could see how Shaye's happiness with herself can be seen through the videos more and more - it's BEAUTIFUL! All the love to you guys! thanks for sharing your journey!

What a strong relationship you have! I can’t imagine staying married if I were in your situation, yet you have the strength and amazing dedication to continue your relationship. I wish you all the best! BTW I’m an ordained minister who supports LGBTQ+ persons.

Watching your video with my morning coffee. For some they might think what is wrong with the world but for me watching this I felt so much love between you and I felt so much of what is right with the world. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone but with all of the horrible things that go on in life, I feel like it is pretty silly (might not be the right word 🤔 ) that anyone focuses on any hatred of transgender or any LGBTQ matters in a negative way.

Thanks so much for ALL your videos, you two are a treasure to the trans / LGBTQIA+ community. I relate so strongly to Shaye's journey. I've transitioned SOCIALLY ONLY, I'm not sure what the future holds otherwise, I think FFS has always been what I would change first, I just want to see that me that is inside, though I've always had her in here. It is so BIZARRE to me those who question the authenticity of trans identity and come up with ideas like "social contagion", what a ludicrous idea. I just want to come out fully, and be accepted and loved for WHO I REALLY AM, not some idea of who I must be for others to be comfortable in their world. It's hard enough accepting and loving ourselves, whatever our natures. Thanks again ladies! :)

Find a queer community and therapist if you haven’t already! You deserve to live freely and be loved as your authentic self.

You two are so wonderful & open, and seeing you share your story with the world has been such an inspiring journey. Even moreso, seeing how much support the internet has given you gives me hope for the future lol. Hugs all around. PS- can't wait for the Christmas videos 🎄☃🎅

You both look alike... I believe in freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of expression.. as long as your path is not hurting anyone else I do not feel like anyone should judge another. I am not religious however I do believe there is a God and he should be the only judge and in the end we answered to him only❤
