I got the Honda funnel but didn’t realize it had instructions to snap it in place. It ended up falling off when the filter came off and got oil everywhere anyway. Lessen to be learned

Need your opinion, just bought a 2024 ridgeline, should I do the first oil change early or listen to the maintenance minder?
I do 1st at 1k miles, than every 4k after. Use OEM oil filter for warranty reasons.
