I clicked on your video because I Wondered if it was the same as my wife's 2022 MDX. it's exactly the same minus the Oil filter orientation. The MDX is still face down. One thing I would like to share is I use Trip A for gas and Trip B for oil change mileage. Thanks for the upload.👍
Thanks for posting. My 2024 Pilot is my 4th Honda with the 3.5L V6. The first three (’00 Odyssey, '03 Accord, '08 Pilot) all took less than 5 quarts of 5W-20. I’m going to have to remember it’s now 5.8 qts of 0w-20. All four still use the exact same oil filter though.
Typically that is what I do. While they are draining I will go do something else for 10-15 minutes. But, for ease of shooting I did them one at a time, this time.
It’s true. I follow that regiment on my Odyssey and Accord. OAs come back 100% A-OK. Even though the first oil change only called for an oil dump, I changed the oil filter, too. Going forward I will change the filter per the Maintenance Minder.

Interesting! I wonder why the orientation is different between the two. That is a good tip for the trip meters. Thank you for sharing.
Good video, thanks for explaining step by step. 😊
You're welcome!

You’re welcome. Yes, I was surprised as well. My 2013 Odyssey with a 3.5L V6 only takes ~4.5qts.
If you remove your oil filter before installing your oil drain plug more oil will come out of pan .

can the filter be installed (and removed) by hand? I mean, can you physically reach it and loosen/tighten it or is a filter wrench required?
It can. But, I’m a big guy and it’s can be a little tight for me. I have the tools so I use them.
I’m looking to drain and fill my transmission fluids. My Pilot 23 TS is at about 17k miles. Have you thought of doing yhis?
I’m at 24,000mi now. When the code comes up I will do it and make a video.
Did you remove the passenger side wheel?
I did not.
what's the brand of that splashing guide?
Here is the link.
EWK Flexible Oil Funnel Reusable... www.amazon.com/dp/B094HZBCX4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It takes 6qts. What's the weight? 0W? 5w??
5.8qts. 0W-20
per Honda you don't have to change the filter with every oil change, really?

👏👏👏👍👍👍
Thank you!
That OEM filter looks like it's made by Fram 👎
I believe it’s made by Frams parent company. Honeywell.
