Hey everyone! I’m headed out on vacation for a week so I will probably not be in the comments section so much for the next week and a half or so. I’ll see y’all when I get back, when I have some INCREDIBLE videos planned for y’all! ❤❤❤🎉
Enjoy your well-deserved vacation, Caleb!
@@notsorandumusername Thanks! I’m sure gonna try!
When you get back we want to see videos in 8k HDR, HDR+,HLG @ 60 fps, 4,000 nits with optional 3d ( yes 3d is still a thing) you will blow their minds.
@@user-oq6sc1qm4j ok. So hire, say, a 20-person film production crew from maybe Sony Pictures? Got it. I’m getting right on that, LOL!
@@Caleb_Denison And make sure you buy a BVM-HX3110 for grading. Because those are fairly cheap, I hear.
The first guy is definitely using vivid 😂😂
If you were an AI chatbot, may be you are, I'd label your response as 'hallucinated'
@@Sas-wk9lj What an incredibly weird response. Are you an AI bot whose algorithm isn't that that good yet? Ofcourse that guy is watching in vivid mode or similar. Candy-colored grass pitches in a stadium is a dead giveaway.
my TV doesn't give candy-colored grass pitches on vivid mode! It more saturated looking but not cheap plastic color. May be you need to throw your TV down a trash can and buy QD-OLED instead if you can afford it.
@@Sas-wk9lj I have an OLED. Two of them in fact. Had OLED for years. Guess what: that still doesn't mean the first guy isn't watching in Vivid. That's typical Samsung LED, that was sold in masses to the masses and looks like dogshyte.

@@BigPhi84aww, thanks man!
Definitely would like to see a video on what goes into making HDR videos on TH-cam.
This has been an excellent episode of You Asked! Such good questions and equally good answers. Well done!!
Oh! And I would welcome a video devoted to HDR, to show how it’s done and maybe even have some of it in HDR and some in SDR to see the difference? Just a thought. Thanks!!!
This was the episode I was looking for. I was really debating about the A80L and Bravia 8. Love this channel.
Whenever I stumble upon an HDR video it's always a happy little surprise.
What a lie! There are plenty of HDR videos that are fake, almost 95% of it. They look awful with those unnatural colour scheme. The picture is also worse than authentic HDR videos.
These are excellent videos, very informative and keeps the community engaged with questions/answers
Thank You
I always look forward to "You asked." Answers to questions I hadn't even thought of. Thanks Caleb
Love this! Thanks for watching!
One step closer to the holy Bravia 9 review.
Can't wait!

@@briandprice1981 couldn't be happier with my 65 A80J and 77 A80L despite all the woled hate
Caleb - appreciate you taking my question on TV speakers. I agree with your answer but I do like the option for higher end displays to have the same display and processing with basic speakers for those who will use in a home theatre setup or have a nice soundbar ready to go. Even if it’s not much cheaper, it’s smaller, lighter and more compact.
That is something I have appreciated from Sony going back decades when they do that.
Love these videos and the thought/care you put into your responses :)
An explanation of the HDR creation process would be great.
Hi Caleb, long time follower, thanks for your reply
Black Friday was not the best time to buy a tv last year. I was trying to scoop up a G3 at the end of the year so I was checking Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart religiously. I saw cheaper prices the weeks leading up to Black Friday than I did on Black Friday. I ended up getting my G3 the day after Christmas for 2080. 65 inch. Amazon ended up having the best price. I’m gonna do the same this year with a G4 83”.
Caleb, do you recommend a video or website with the best calibration specs for Samsung S90C?
Thanks if you see this, Thanks for the videos if you don't. Love your vids!
Try these settings for movies. And please leave a feedback in comments. Tell me if i need to change something.
Upgraded from an 55" C1 to an 77" G4,
Was def worth it, colours pop more more horsepower under the hood and game mode is fixed and the screen jump alone was worth the extra money. Bought it at the same price as pricing goes for an G3.
@@briandprice1981 thanks for your useless remark lol
Will watch the video later. But to give my experience upgrading from LG C2 to G4, whilst I went to a G3, not a G4, it was worth it. The C2 is still a great TV. But noticeable positive difference going to the G3.
I'm considering upgrading from my 2-year-old side-lit 50" LG QNED TV to a 65", possibly OLED (plan to wait for a big sale, though). My current choices are the two you mentioned, the LG G4 and the Sony Bravia 8. Have you done (or will you) a comparison between those two models?
So I got the LG OLED CX 55-inch TV, and I guess upgrading would be great, right? What are the differences, and what do those AI features in the LG G4 do? Also, should I buy it now or wait for Black Friday? I don't know if the LG OLED G4 will sell out quicker than the 2020 LG OLED CX.
I would like to see what is involved in HDR content production, Caleb. Thank you!
Costco also has the A80L on sale also, 2699.00. For the 77”..you also get the nicer all metal remote and extra 3 years of warranty..
I got that tv in February. Costco had it on sale. Love it!
Overpriced for that category. Both the S90C and C3 are much better TVs
@@briandprice1981 2 full hdmi ports compared to 4 on the others, and on top of that your paying a $1k premium for the Sony? LMAO
Please do the Bravia 9 review in HDR 😘
I would love to see a HDR explainer, the technology and requirements behind it always fascinates me
Thank you addressing that on-board audio question. It's important to me. Don't know how it became the norm to buy a sound bar with each television purchase.
On a side note, the 2.1.2 system on the Hisense U8N - 2 firing down and one subwoofer...but where are the remaining 2 placed, and in what direction are they firing? Gotta know.
I got C3, but within 30 days returned to bestbuy and got G3 65” LG.
The G3 65” LG are very well made. Great picture quality.
I am using RCF ART 915-AX speakers’ bluetooth, but also using PreSonus 16.0.2 mixer. The sound from RCF ART 915-AX speakers are bigger and sound quality far better than the sound bar.
I would definitely like to see content about creating hdr content!
Hey Caleb, your hint about the upcoming Bravia Theatre Quad a few of these ago, saved me from acting too early and making a mistake!
I have them installed now as of this past Friday -- I didn't pick up a sub yet in the hopes that maybe Sony might update their wireless sub line, but worst case scenario I'll hold out for a good discount.
Virtual Japan is another HDR creator on TH-cam. In fact, I see their videos used quite frequently as store demos for 4k HDR TVs…
Howdy! I wouild love to see HDR videos or at least when you make that video about HDR, make sure to master it in HDR! :D
Caleb I have to agree about the TV speaker question ⁉️ I wish we were given a choice. Hey a much better processor and just standard speakers or even no speakers vs a higher price tag because Onkyo or someone else needs to put their name on a TV to sell. Bottom line I can buy even a basic sound bar and blow away TV speakers for less money. 😳🤔
I'm looking forward to the HDR how to video so I can dabble 👌
A HDR creation video would be fantastic!
How about if its worth upgrading a c1 to c4? I noticed the xbox is showing a warning of increased latency using dolby vision gaming on the c1 but not seem to see it in reviews of c2 onwards. Is it a c1 limitation or is an xbox bug towards the c1?
Question: When are the reviews for the new Sony soundbars coming? And hope you have a wonderful vacation!
Can I use the BRAVIA Theater Bar 9 on the new LG G4 OLED ? I’m upgrading from c1 to the LG OLED G4 …
If you got a Sony, there's a feature called white offset, just add 7 to each pixel. If you run your computer with the movie, windows HDR calibration helps alot. Like a gtx 2070 only runs at 10bit while a 3080 runs at 12bit. So you cut off the invisible sruff and it packs the center of the signal to snot. You can clearly see just what they were up to, all settings at +3, always 60hz 444.
Im this doubt i have a lg c1 and an a1 and i want to change my c1 for a samsung s90d. But does it make sense? Will i see a real difference between c1 and s90d?
Is it worth upgrading from a tcl 6 series 2021 model google tv 75in, is it worth upgrading to a qm8 85in
hi loved the answers you have given us for our different needs and questions. my question is which would be a better tv (gaming and movies) Bravia 7 mini led or lg c4. typically in a dark room and only at 55 inch at most ?
I would to hear your answer both from Caleb and the community according to their experience
OLED is the best and at the 55 inch I would check out a A75L at $1199 or a S90D. The A75L at that price is better than the C4
Please do a HDR video
That would be awesome
Great channel, BTW
HDR needs to die, biggest junk tech in years......stop supporting people who can't set their damn tvs up properly.
Should i go with the sony x77l or the bravia 3 ?
I have a 75 inch Sony 950H and I love the picture quality. Do you think it’s worth the upgrade. I mean do you think there is a significant difference compared to today’s mini led?
Yes big difference from 950h
I recently purchased a Sony A95L, previously I had a Sony A1 (A1E in the us), the first sony Oled tv from 2017, and though the difference in picture quality is huge in my opinion especially from a tv geek/cinema enthusiast viewpoint, however I would argue from the average customers viewpoint probably not that much. Also keep in mind that these sets are 6 years apart from eachother moreover the A95L uses a QD-OLED panel which is really the most meaningful upgrade in my opinion. Based on this experience and regarding the C2 to G4 upgrade I hardly think there would be a big difference in terms of picture quality.
What TV is at 5:14?! I need that exact stand style for my space & will buy that TV just for that.
A video about HDR video workflow would be really cool. If someone could figure out how to decrease the work required to make one it would be great. So many people watch on phones, hdr capable tvs and monitors and tablets it would make for a huge improvement
When are you going to review the new Sony Bravia 7, 8 & 9 series?
I got a Phillips 908 apart from having a great picture quality the sound by bowers and Wilkins is enough for the room and I don’t need external sound.
How does the Samsung 83"
S90C compare to Sony's 83" A80L?
Can you guys review the Philips ambilight 50”?
Hey Caleb, just want to say I appreciate all your videos. Your videos are awesome. Just have a quick question. I’ve been looking to see if someone has reviewed the Roku TV Pro series which has been out for a few weeks now. Just wondering why no one has made an official review on it. To me it looks like a more affordable version of the frame TV but seems like it has better specs than the frame TV. I’m really excited about it. I’m just wondering why no one has made any reviews on it yet. Please make a review I would greatly appreciate it thank you for everything. Oh, One more thing I’m not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist but is there a possibility that there is some pushback going on from maybe the company or the industry that’s causing lack of reviews of the TV itself just curious thanks again.
E uma pena que a Sony não está mais no Brasil
Have any of these TVs got a gigabit ethernet port yet?
Quick question guys: Should I buy the new Bravia 8 or the carryover Bravia A95L from last year?
Can you do the Bravia XR A95L vs another high I love my Bravia 95 is got a gorgeous picture I think it’s better then LG pled G models it’s smoother to use and the settings are better pictures looks cleaner etc
As far as speakers go I use the tv speakers and a sub woofer. The full sound works for me.
The more important question a95L or lg g4?
The trouble with youtube and HDR, is that youtube does not support dolby vision, so any HDR youtube video marked as dolby vision is in fact HDR10
I wanna see a sample of auto exposure record :D
@gertost Hopefully we will see electroluminescent displays in a few years, so if you have an OLED, I'd recommend hanging on to it. That will be the "next big change."
On the TH-cam HDR topic, a ton of devices still don't even properly support it. For example, I still use an Nvidia Shield Pro, as it's still the best way for be to playback my Plex library. However it does not support HDR on TH-cam at all.
Speaking of HDR, here's another thing about HDR. Even if Linux users currently have a monitor that supports HDR10+, there is HDR in some desktop environments such as KDE and System76's COSMIC desktop environment, it's still experimental. I do not like to bore anyone with technical jargon, but in KDE, to get HDR, a user must switch over to Wayland. However, I do use applications that do not support Wayland at all and with NVIDIA GPU, I get terrible flickering during Zoom calls, so I have to switch back to X11/Xorg. What is Wayland, X11/Xorg, and display server? I will leave you to do some research on that as I do not want to bore anyone with technical jargon. But do know that it will take a while before HDR becomes a standard in Linux.
Is a80L tv IMAX certified. , Disney+ DTS sound does not work for me. Goes to atmos auto
They call it IMax enhanced. If you are buying 65” or 55” get the Sony A75L $500 cheaper for the same exact picture, less speakers!
I so don't care about TV speakers that I bought the Sony A75L for $500 less than A80L. For me, picture quality is more important than speakers, same exact picture for a lot less money. Already had a Sony sound bar!
Good job. Most of the "Nit nerds" here are out of their minds always wanting the latest and greatest OVERHYPED specs and paying super premium prices for that. ALWAYS buy "last years" model and save upwards of $1000 every time.

Still running my 75 inch TV from 2018 in the living room as my main set. I couldn't imagine changing out a TV after just 2 or 3 years at this point. I'm sure when I do something probably in a year or two that it will be a nice upgrade from what I have now.
What TV do you have right now? I have a Sony 75" Z9D from 2016/2017, but I would like to upgrade to a 85" Do you think it is a good time for me to upgrade and the Sony Bravia 9 would be a good option for me? Thanks!

Best bang for the buck is Sony A75L, less speakers, same exact picture as the A80L. The 65” is $1500 at Best Buy, 55” is $1200. I have the 55 amazing TV with an excellent picture!
lol, nice shoutout to Hot Ones.
Caleb missed one important point answering the first question: There's equal chance that the video source might be bad to begin with. Some older HDR videos from even J+K have that issue. You just cannot fix that without screwing you picture entirely.
My 2 cents of advice would be as first step is to check other videos showing grassy land and trees and see if that's also as bad as the sports ground. If you see that unnatural green everywhere, then only you need to tweak you settings.
What's J&K?

X95l vs bravia 7?
Unfortunately the G4 has got a very distracting silver bezel which is ease to see....
Where is the s90d review
And HDR is still washout im always On SDR is awsome
Caleb, why can't you talk the manufacturers into just selling a good soundbar with the TV instead of them having to manufacture in built-in speakers?
Better yet, why not have the TV manufacturers have top notch full length soundbars prebuilt in under the bottom of the bezel areas? And, the bottom
of these prebuilt in soundbars could have screw in mounting positions for wide flat plate TV stands?
That's like snatching the option for the folks who don't want a sound bar. So they unnecessarily pay the extra amount for the TV+ SB as forced buy.
If the manufacturers keep the price as constant and give the SB as free, then that'd make some sense.
I finally can recommend the G4, having just replaced a Samsung led that drove me nuts with issues. It’s enough of a difference from our C3 to notice, and appreciate. Definitely worth the price. Now we have three new LG OLEDS, and enough first world guilt to last a lifetime. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
There's a typo 'guilt' while you meant 'built'. If I do a psychoanalysis of that slip of typing, I think you're probably feeling 'guilty' of buying the expensive G4 on top of already owning 2 LG OLEDs. While you'll be loving your new hot wife (to draw an analogy), you'll constantly feel guilty of ignoring the other 2 wives (older OLEDs). Just reflect on that for a couple of minutes to see what's going inside you.
Nah, not worth upgrading, keep the A80L, or just go to the A95L if you must upgrade...
Better yet the S90C…
@@trewright1482 If you want to save some money and don’t want the best A95L, better to go with the S90D…
Philips 908 has great build in speakers compared to Sony oled. I compared them in store :)

Bravia 8 > Slight glow-up in looks en build. Better whites and peak nits. And extra speakers in the screen. So its a small bump indeed.

4:38 - Spending $2000+ on a TV and THEN being asked for another $1000+ for a soundbar is assinine to me ESPECIALLY when 75% of the TV "sound" is PEOPLE TALKING. If I need external sound for some youtube music videos I'll just plug in my JBL L-100s that I've had since 1977. LOL
tech steve uploads in HDR
May be but that doesn't look like great PQ.
Regarding the green grass question, on Samsung QLEDs you may also want to check the “Colour Space Settings” which are in the picture mode expert settings. The Native setting will give very green greens but the Auto setting looks more realistic.
Does anyone know the You Asked Email link?
It’s always in the intro, but a friendly reminder to anyone interested, it is: youasked@digitaltrends.com
I have a Samsung QN900B and I know what the first question is talking about. It's not the Color Temperature, It's the Color Space. Change the Color Space from Native to Auto and it will fix the green and red oversaturation. Or…if you are in HDR change the Color Space to Custom and under Custom change the Color Space to BT 2020.
I wish Sony would just sell me a high end display at a lower price. No speakers, no smart features, no tv tuner. Just a display with inputs.
I've often wondered about the lack of HDR in more videos. Had no idea it was any more involved to produce. Thought it was just a setting to switch on your camera or something, but maybe it made for a bigger file and therefore longer upload times. I'd love to see a video on what goes into making a good HDR video.
HDR TH-cam video's seem a good idea, provided you are not the one trying to achieve perfection.
Added to that the device you are watching on will if not calibrated add or subtract from the final image.
I have both 1440p and 4K monitors that both despite calibration look different when fed with the same SD content
By the time you include the limits of TH-cam then HDR is just not worth the hassle, time and expense.
They should make speaker delete models for cheaper
Went to Best Buy felt like I took mushrooms because I think it was the Sony 93L that seemed as if it was coming off the screen
Samsung: it’s well known that particularly the 95D is overly cool out of the box which is fixed with calibration…
I upgraded from the C2 to the C4 extremely happy with my choice
I cancelled my g4 77 and went for c3 83 for almost half the price… I’m still scanning for g4 83 deals for the next year or so :)
Its happening, 4,000 eye watering nits! 😋 time for the future, today....
I would love to see more detail about HDR. Decent quality HDR can look as though you’re staring through a window compared to SDR which will always appear less than ultra-real. My father in law bought a 13” OLED iPad Pro and the quality of the HDR image, even on TH-cam was mind blowing, for someone who’d never experienced before. You could say it was a “Holy Toledo” moment… 😊
Listen to this guy, upgrading from C2 to G4 isn't really worth it unless you have a tons of cash to burn. Store display loop video specifically made to WOW customers, but if you tried the same content to your c2 when you get back home, you will then realized C2 still looks good as well.
I would rather the TV companies focus on making good TVs then fiddle with crappy speakers. It makes zero sense to have a top end TV with crappy speakers, when a good sound bar/sub can be had for relatively cheap by comparison. Also, c'mon, if you're the type of person who is buying a high end TV, you are doing you're research, and are going to quickly realize a solid 3.1 setup with AVR will make a sound bar also make very little sense.
