It's great to have Alex back! I hope he will start filming the flowers and gardens, I miss the outdoor perspectives. I also miss the random shots of places and things in the convent that aren't shown in the work areas. It's great to see the team going forward at such a rapid pace and am so excited about the return of the legend that is Simon!!! Crack on gentlemen!!!!
It's amazing to watch this transformation of the convent. Taking all the debris out is so much work and so satisfying to see day to day progress. So much to look forward to!
You all are such great friends you look after each other and that is awesome. Can’t wait to see Simon back in full force you will have your full team.😊
Billy, when you take random pieces of plaster board and wood and fit them together to create something, it reminds me of sewing pieces of fabric together to make a quilt. I have huge satisfaction when I complete a quilt. I am always amazed at how I sew together different sizes and shaped pieces of fabric, and they create something quite heavy and beautiful. Hopefully a quilt will stand the test of time, and more than one generation will enjoy it. That is how you must feel about the convent.
It's been very humid here in Illinois....feel like temp 105°F. I understand a hot Friday calls for light dsys work, cold drink, early quit time. It's a great idea to mow for your friend. Such a thoughtfull thing to do!!!
Thank you so much for bringing back the recordings, it's interesting because there are things happening and now it's just a guessing game of what is it?! I think that your idea with a scaffolding is definitely the right direction to take, save the money put it towards something else and use what you have. I hope you all have an amazing weekend and find a pool because it sounds like that is a thing that is needed.
When the organ was being built, there were different times Michael heard odd sounds, is there a place in the chapel for the recorder?... maybe close to the organ?
Using the scaffolding is the best idea. Have you not finished work on the ground floor apartment, don't need the doors there yet? (I'm teasing) You have got a lot done since Simon was last there. He will be surprised.
you need a big commercial fan to go in the corner while you are working. it would help with the air circulation as well as blowing the construction dust out.
It's nice seeing y'all just getting to the work.... I do miss the music... The rich, majestic style. The rough and tumble blues style.... Bring the music back please. 🙏
Me too. I get the ASMR thing and all the hours that Alex saves while editing, but I guess we are a bit spoilt now, having developed taste for finer things in vlogging. :) Somehow, I find shorter, action packed vlogs with great music background more enjoyable - but that's just my preference. I'm utterly grateful for any vlog I get chance to indulge, regardless the artistic take on it. Job well done!
Love the series Billy. And what a team you have there, love Rick, Yanis and the rest of the bunch. What an immersive project it is, I love how you try to bring it back to it's former glory. Fun fact, you seem to renovate yourself as well: compared to one year ago you look so much more fit and energetic!! Would love a floorplan episode and update on the overall plans, maybe with the boss lady herself? Keep it up!! Cheers
Amazing how quickly renovations are progressing! Thank you as always for the wonderful videos. Praying that this weekend you all are safe and well, and this new week brings you much strength, joy, peace, and unexpected favor. Take care!!!
Yanis cam, what a hoot...yup, 92 F in Jacksonville Florida, incoming rains and high humidity, I would say a cocktail is in order, it's Friday after all...CHEERS...!
Billy and crew, you really work quickly and efficiently. I'm sure Alex taking over the video tasks has helped. Something you may want to consider is to leave a shelf above the short hallway between the dining room and library. With a couple of plugs, this shelf could be used to install speakers facing out into each of the rooms. Perhaps utilizing a slim sound barrier between the two sections. The ceiling below the shelf would be a wonderful place to install a barrel ceiling for that short hallway.
As a Yankee builder, I know definitely a bunch of work, but it's so cool to be working on a building that has a destinct history but obviously needs the love.
The relative humidity makes even more difference than absolute temperature when it comes to comfort. I once lived in a desert area where the temp could frequently reach 116F, but more comfortable than when living in a high humidity area at 75F.
After all the hours of having watched, I was not prepared for the nose-first views of Yanis. Thank you for the new experience, which I will eventually evaluate. By the bye, it is nice to see what nice hair Yanis hides under those caps - hairdresser's comment.
at 3.18 am very morning I hear a bang. It took me ages to work out it was expanding metal from the water heater when it reached a certain temperature :)
Great work! Such a lot accomplished. It seems the weather is quite weird everywhere this year. We are way too warm here in Montana USA also! I hope things get back to normal soon. Hope to see some updates on the château and the garden there at the convent. Hooray for Simon being back! Can’t wait to see what he will be up to.
As nuns generally lead blameless lives, sadly I expect a ghostly confession would be along the unexciting lines of "On Wednesday, I spoke a little sharply to Sister Dominique after Compline" or something like that!
It is 9.30am winter in Brisbane Australia right now and it is very chilly 16C with a high of 24C. The sky is blue and the sun is out but it was warm enough yesterday to walk around outside in short sleeve t-shirts shorts in middle of the day. We really have only had these winter temps in the last week and before that we had a couple of 30C winter days. It is amazing when I watch you guys in the cold and snow while we have very hot and very humid summer days here. I love that you are checking the ghost noises. You can buy more advanced spirit checking/monitoring equipment if you get more interested. There is a lot of kit available if you are into the paranormal. xxg
Bah, I was expecting at least ‘Confessions of a Window Cleaner’! Last person in the bath Billy would more than likely have been a nun, which is fine, as long as you don’t get into the habit! Stay well all and enjoy the weekend.
As you drive out of the Convent, there is a manhole cover in the road. I was thinking maybe that's the noise you pick up on the recorder. Perhaps it makes a noise a vehicle goes over it and it echoes through the empty Convent through the sewers! Just a thought🤔
No need to explain the method to your madness! lol I like it ❤ you have to keep people interested some how! Me I can’t wait for to see the building in all of it’s glory
Surprisingly, I’m enjoying the recordings too, like the sink pipes. Haha. Nice to see you in your summer fashion.simon is going to appreciate, you folks cutting the grass.
Well spotted with the door styles Alex, does anyone know if it does have a name? Billy you’re a great friend thinking Simon might get a shock when he arrives, very thoughtful of you to go and sort his garden.
I've never heard a name but that style of doors was wildly popular all over Europe around 1900, let's say from about 1890 to 1918. Some modern doors mimic that style. Earlier 19th-century doors were usually either four (shorter on the bottom, taller on the top) or six (short - tall - short) boxes, even older ones had only two.
From mid-Minnesota, temps 70s-80s, humidity 50s-70s%, rains at night w/thunder+some days, gardens blooming everywhere. Last year much hotter w/temps 90s almos t daily, humidity 60s-70s%...Loving this summer!!!
Hi Billy, It is 83 degrees in Atlanta and we are all saying how cool it is. I understand not everyone is use to the heat. When my husband's sister visited one summer, she had to visit the emergency room.
All that dry wall dust collecting on the floor when you plane the edges gave me flashbacks to my dissipated youth back in the late seventies and early eighties. Your vision, your work, your team, all top rate. I love seeing your plans evolve as you peel back the layers of relatively recent years. The library is going to be glorious. All the best, to all of you.
Love the recording and definitely should put it in different parts of the convent. Looking forward to seeing Simon again. I’m sure he’ll appreciate you taking care of his overgrown property 😍😘
These doors are very popular in France. They don't seem to have a generic style name beyond the number of panels (3). Individual makers give them fancy names, though.
I love the recorder and seeing what you hear. You need to put it in the Superior Mother’s room. Thank you for sharing all the goings on and have a great weekend.
What a nice gesture to clean up around Simon's place before he arrives. He will certainly appreciate that!
😂😂😂 yanis with the camera facing him, so funny
Like a wobleyhead, but the other way round 😂
'YANIS NOSE CAM' :D
Reminds me of an elf.
Brilliant😂
OMG ! Yanis cam is cracking me up !
It's like a cartoon !
More please !😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I really enjoy the noise recorder. You never know when you'll discover something intriguing.
Yanis is a dedicated worker but he's not the only one. Billy's dad is very impressive as well. I am 75 y/o and he gives me inspiration.
Got to love the Yanis cam. He’s added so much to your group.
It will be great to have Simon back! We love u all, but have been missing Simon. I love Yanis’s humor.
Does anyone so delight in the bond Yanis has with Mick and Simon? Yanis just blossoms under mentorship!
It'll be great to see Simon back. So kind to think about his garden . I'm sure he'll be delighted.
Never see Yannis in a bad mood 😂. Such a hard worker to complete your Dad. X❤

Yes Alex, flowers.and gardens please.
"We have to look after everyone" 💕
The Yanis cam turned onto his face just cracks me up the whole time😂
It is the duty of the confessional to not say anything!
I love the idea of half-paneling in the dining room. It seems like you are making excellent progress and the "dust door" is a great idea.
Your Dad is amazing, you are very lucky to have him
I love how well Mick and Yanis work together!
I hope i can do half as much when i am 80, and as often. Nick is an inspiration
I thought his dad's name was Mick?

Love today’s reverse Yanis cam! Can we always have a bit of that? 😂 it was funny and Yanis is awesome
Did Billy really just say "I want to economize"? I never, ever thought I'd hear that! 😄
I think the heat got to him 🤣🤣
🤣😂

Why, Billy! You looked quite dashing modelling that bathtub!
LOL!
Have a nice weekend!

Lovely to see Mr. Petherick (Mick) looking after Yanis...what a great apprenticeship for him! 😊

As a fellow quilter, I agree!
Hahaha the Yanis Cam is always so funny. Great job as always on the video Alex. The 25-30 minute videos really help to pass my work day!!

I don't know why, but Yanis, with his curly hair and beard, makes me think of the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius.
Using the scaffolding is the best idea. Have you not finished work on the ground floor apartment, don't need the doors there yet? (I'm teasing) You have got a lot done since Simon was last there. He will be surprised.

The yanis cam is funny with its angle on his face. Love the idea of you guys helping simons home
I enjoy the humour on your channel. A very productive week. Go cool off.

“ forgive me father… I coveted her bowl of soup “… nope . The sanctity of the confessional remains 👍

There never seems to be enough hours in the day. I believe the circumpherence of the earth is to blame.

Yanis cam at that weird angle really makes me laugh, love it 😂
As nuns generally lead blameless lives, sadly I expect a ghostly confession would be along the unexciting lines of "On Wednesday, I spoke a little sharply to Sister Dominique after Compline" or something like that!
On Tuesday, I out-hit the boys in softball again (we had such a nun).
😂😂
🤣🤣😍
Actually, "The human heart is deceitfully wicked, who can know it?" Christian Bible
AFTER Compline would have been during the time of the Grand Silence till they rose in the morning!
Simon and Yanis working together is my probably favorite content from the channel!
Love the Yanis Camera! And the voice recordings are fun! Can't wait to see Simon and his reaction to what you've gotten done.

A garden reno video where you make it like it used to be, plant the crops your families would use. That would be awesome, maybe next spring?
I believe that Mick planted potatoes in the convent garden this year.
No need to explain the method to your madness! lol I like it ❤ you have to keep people interested some how! Me I can’t wait for to see the building in all of it’s glory
The absolute state of that sky.
You are doing such a great job of recycling, reusing. 😊

High of 94F in West Texas with 35% humidity. The dryness is what saves us. Of course in East Texas they have the humidity.
