    We are working on both the the website and Facebook page now so images and videos will become more regular.
    Thanks Sam, you're a great test pilot.

    Well done bud! I built a wicked skateboard from a brushless hobby motor 4 years ago (Before the covid inflation and shortage) and It was $80 for a 5000 watt (approx 6 HP) and a 1/8th scale 150 amp speed control (also about $80) and I have to run it at 33% voltage (21 mph on a skateboard). I tried 50% voltage once,... once. I still have the scar. Mathematically, it would 44 mph at 100% voltage (12 cell) and I can ride it at 33% , and BARELY servive at 50%! No way in HELL I'm trying full power! That's a death wish! It's a 6374 Trunigy outrunne btw (motor size).cheers! SUPER COOL BUILD DAD! From a builder to a builder, MAD respect Broski. God bless. Subbed.

      Sorry, been slack about replying. We don't have plans yet, but it's a tooth belt drive, the propellers I make out of fibreglass (I made a pattern out of wood and took a two part mold off it. I lay up with vinylester resin, woven mat and chopped strands. Haven't had one fail yet. I really need to get some information out. Bear with me.

    this is the most underrated video of this subject, you've done such an amazing job on it an how stable it is with him cutting the wheel hard lock either way its like a real racing skiff, it looks like you used the biggest RC jetdrive you could find an a 2k watt brushless to drive it an a big servo to steer it? 10/10 on your build lol you've got some blessed kids buddy :D

    • @whotookgetinthebag
      @whotookgetinthebag  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not jetdrive... Really wanted to but price is still a bit high. Prop drive, and rudder is controlled by cable. New one is getting a servo install shortly so it can be completely RC or driven manually. Biggest problem at the moment is cost-effective batteries...

  • @DIYjetboards
    @DIYjetboards 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice one mate. That thing is quick. I’ve been building jet drive paddle boards and just started messing with prop drives. The biggest RC prop I can find is 75mm but my motor is spinning way too fast so I’m pulling huge amps ( over 200…. Cause my thermal breakers pop at 200 amps ) I’d love to hear and see what setup you used. Did you gear down the motor output? And prop size and pitch ?
    I hope you are willing to share your build info but I get it if you want to keep it to yourself. Either way fantastic job 🤙🏼🤙🏼🍻

      Hi Frank,
      Thanks for the comment. Pete's dad here, I built the boat, Pete did the electrics. We're facing the same problem regarding amperage draw and getting the speed/prop matched properly. We haven't resolved it yet.
      Take care,
      Grahame.

      We only let him loose in enclosed water that's not deep. We can walk to him if we need to, but it's never run flat, it has good battery life and a meter. But if it did run flat, he'd have to get out and drag it back while we laugh at him.
