    I'm doing weight training and I love how much more I can eat! So my metabolism is waaaay faster

    I’ve been training for the past year. I’ve lost 35 pounds. I’m hungry every day. Not cravings, hunger. I eat more than I did in the past. My weight doesn’t increase. In fact, it drifts downward by a few pounds every month. I have not been tracking my diet, except I stay conscious of how much useful protein I’m consuming. My principal goal for training is not weight loss. Weight loss is just a byproduct of training.

    How do you when measure if someone gains 3 pounds of muscle? The margin of error on all body fat tests makes this difficult to know

    so true, I am trying to bulk, but I just keep leaning out even more. I am eating way more food, just trying to maintain is more difficult. It is hard to eat too much of the right foods, I am finding.

      It is hard! Cuz eating the right foods fill
      You up cuz of the hormones that sends a signal to your brain.

    I can't speak for everyone but ever since I started building muscle. I haven't had to worry about my weight as much. I still gain weight sometimes but I can burn it off pretty easily

    True regarding muscle burns more fat or keeps it off more easily. Since I've started weight training, I can eat a lot of calories (even bad food) and not gain much fat. I think another important factor is more muscle & less fat = better hormonal imbalance. You'll have more T and less E, which makes a huge difference.

    I started calling this weight training purgatory. After 18 months of training I realized my gains were disappointing. I was slowly gaining muscle but also got a little heavier. It appears I was eating too many calories, yet not getting enough protein. Slow muscle gain and slow fat gain. Not really beneficial. Now that I’ve tripled my protein intake I’ve exploded. Kinda makes me angry all the time I spent. But, finally getting some results.

    I'm coming down from 253 pounds to 214. I am at a plateau. Now I am building muscle and eating 4,000 to 5,000 calories a day. Being lean is the goal. Being a man that belly and chest fat is a bitch to get rid of. But I am ready. This channel is gold thanks for the content.

    The true is that most fitness coaches don't know a lot, they're fit because they love working out, but don't expect too much from them when it comes to information. They just learn the word "macronutrients" and say: let's fucking gooo

    I hope one day they do a episode on the new apps that take pictures of your food and tell you your calories and macros are these trustworthy as I know tech has come along way

    I have an bigger appetite now then when I was fat because I have more lean muscle issues now. I could choose to eat at a calorie surplus or calorie deficit and still be able to build muscle and look leaner.

      Something that helps me is satiating food like oatmeal and boiled potatoes

    you also move a lot more once you’re stronger/in better shape. So the effects snowball

    I'm confused about 2 things... Everyone says "muscle burns fat". Is it actually "muscle burns CALORIES"?
    Also, if I were to weight train, do 20-30 min of cardio, and go into a calorie deficit - would that be counter productive to boosting my metabolism?

      From my experience its easier to maintain your body weight by doing weight training because the more muscle you have the more calories you burn during rest. "Cardio doesn't build muscle" so the only time you burn calories is when you do more cardio. Ideally you would want to do both weight training and Cardio but if you don't have enough time then weight training would be the better option.

      Yes muscle burns calories. people say muscle burns fat because it sounds nicer but it is true to some extent.

      You don't need to be in a calorie deficit. Getting good sleep, gaining muscle by exercising and eating a healthy diet, and fasting will help you lose weight. Fasting worked the best for me for losing weight. Depending on how long you fast you can eat way more than you normally do for example if you always eat 2000 calories every day. Instead of doing that I would fast for 2 days (I would not eat anything for 2 days) and on third day I would eat 6000 calories. I wouldn't eat it all at once. I would have three 2000 calorie meals. I lost a lot of weight doing this. I didn't even need to be on a caloric deficit. I would make sure that the third day ends up on a weekend because you're basically going to be eating all day lol.
