    As an alcoholic and drug addict most of my life, now at 40 years old with a few sober years, I’ve become interested in my health and fitness. I’m looking and feeling better daily. This channel has been so motivating and helpful the past couple of months I’ve been subscribed. Thanks guys!

    I’ve been lifting for 2 and a half years watching videos and stuff, I have to say that you have to fail before you see good results. You have to learn your body and accept that it’s different than everyone else. DO WHATS WORKING FOR YOU!

    I basically just eat eggs, fruit and avocado for breakfast every day. Lunch and dinner is some variation of meat & root veggies. Greek yogurt with fruit or some keffir at night. 10 oz whole milk with a protein scoop with every meal. I'm a single guy and my grocery trips are quick, cooking and dishes are minimal, and i feel great. After the initial shopping trip it really only costs about $50/week to maintain.

    I've had muscles since I hit puberty not huge at all but always had muscular arms I am now 44 never worked out in my life but always had a physical job. I still have a decent physique so it IS genetic to a certain extent for sure. I have had periods in my life where I did zero exercise and was unemployed drank, smoked weed and ate junk food for 6 months still not fat and kept definition!

      Yeah, i don't do anything for my stature, i have low fat percentage, i don't gain fat easily i'll tell you that, but muscles on the other hand, they grow while i eat, literally, i'm a sucker for dairy and i'm huge, just skin bone and muscles, i have a desk job, i do cycle to and from work and sometimes to the grocery store but that's about it, i once helped rig up a strongman event locally back in 2013 when i was 21, they let me try the atlas stones, i was able to get the 140kg up to my chest but couldn't get it all the way up, poor techniques and truthfully it was scary since it felt like it was going to slip anytime, wish i had that on video...I guess it's worth noting i do have a large frame standing 201cm

      I am the same. Even the women in my family that don't workout are extremely muscular. And in my case you can actually see my muscle fibers through my skin however i rarely workout.

    100% facts broski's!! I am one of those rare people with crazy genetics. Im so rare that people think im juicing. My tricep muscles pop so thats one big reason why i stand out. lol When in fact its 13 yrs of hard work and blessed with the genetics. I had to put in the work. Doing push ups everyday when no one else was. Making sacrifices, going to the gym instead of going out late at night to get drunk. I still enjoyed myself but i prioritized myself before anybody else. Work hard play later. And i did it all by myself. Be the best you is all you can do! Keep banging out the good content! One love

    It's crazy how fast you can gain muscle and get in shape if you workout good for your body snd lifestyle. Also if you eat the right amount of protein and get all the vitamins and nutrients you need. Always start slow and work your way up.

The most results I’ve seen so far is from finding something that it barely even feels like putting in work. Am i going to be an aesthetic god? Of course not, I wouldn’t even with my genetics. But I’ve lost so much weight and feel so happy and don’t stress out about my appearance because I’m having fun

    Genetics is definitely involved. I don’t build muscle super fast but I spent 6 months eating Taco Bell and drinking bang energy drinks every single day. I stopped and started running a bit. Ran a marathon in 4 hours 2 weeks later.

    I just went to the gym 3 weeks ago and I’ve lost 15 pounds and gained an inch on my bicep I build it so quickly. But I think it’s muscle memory I use to workout in the past

    I feel bad, I gain muscle so easily
    But I also lose muscle a lot
    Whenever I gain weight I go to the gym to lose weight, end up gaining a lot of mass but then I end up taking 6-12 month breaks and get fat again
    I should be taking advantage of this and keep at least a solid build before my prime is over

      Don’t take 6-12 months off😂 Anyone will lose all their muscle like that. Also, don’t go to the gym to lose weight, you should be running outside (treadmills don’t do a justice to actual running, yes there’s a difference) and eat a lot of vegetables

    i have been only doing lifting for little over a month and my strnght and muscle size just doubled,unbelievable,i am not even going to gym,only daily calthenics and lifting a dumbell i got as a gift from a friend ,kkk

    October 2019 I was 159 pounds and started power lifting/ building. December 2020 I'm 201 pounds. I have shorter muscle bellies though and thick skin so I don't look as shredded even though I'm about 17 % bf, 201 pounds at 5'11.

      @@yuribezmenovwasright5625 You didn't go from 159 to 201 in a year and not gain any bodyfat. You can have 4 abs / quad separation at 20% depending on your genetics. Even guys on gear don't put on 40lbs of lean mass in a year.

    I wonder this too.. I build muscle extremely fast. I work out for a day and I build muscle that lasts. I feel like a genetic freak sometimes, but aye, I ain't complaining. It's better than being skinny and looking unhealthy.

      Same I build muscle like crazy but I think it’s muscle memory where I use to lift weights even in middle school. So if I quit even for 3-4 years and come back I always start back where I left off

      Damn, I've started almost 15 days ago and I've built a shit ton, not water weight either because I'm experimenting and are fat adapted, been straight carnivore for a while as well as working out fasted, usually fast 20 hours. I mean I'm just slapping on thickness, don't understand it but I also make sure I have good mind muscle connection, good form, go to failure alot because I've lost alot of strength and not logging my weight right now but I know I've already went up in strength, I also physically feel my target muscle pumped and tension and/or burn so I know I'm hitting complete failure with the target so after all that, my question is: after the 1st initial session of hitting all my muscle targets the 1st week, I was pretty damn satisfied but sore as shit, makes since right, haven't lifted in 6 years. But now even at only the 2nd going to the 3rd week, I'm recovering fast as hell in all muscles. Am I'm telling you I am going to true failure. It's really fucking with me because I see change in size and strength but I'm just fucking paranoid. Can anyone relate/help P.S. I'm hitting st least 2 muscle groups a day, right now for ex: back and chest with 3workouts for each muscle 15/12/8/8/MAX on the reps for all workouts

    I'm 5'10, 240, and yeah I gain muscle proabbly faster than average. I started doing pushups around 19 and just blow up. And than I was 195. Now I do over 400 pushups every other day. I eat like shit and I'm in construction so I feel like that helps with burning my crappy calories. But I think it's my genetics and my work ethic combined

      At your height, you're clinically obese.
      You shouldn't be higher than 16% bodyfat for optimal living.
      At your height and weight, I will bet you're much higher than 16% bodyfat. Do you even know what yours is?
      Check if you don't know your bodyfat percentage.

    I get way too big! I don’t take roids or anything. For the past 10-12 years I’ve been lifting weights seriously. The muscle memory, if I’ve taken time off, is almost instant. I can gain my strength back extremely fast and the mass builds on. Some people may see this as a gift, but at times it sucks because I’m a super nice guy, but I’m often seen as intimidating by people who don’t really know me. Although, I love working out and lifting heavy it does suck at times because it actually opens you up to stereotypes (meathead, anger issues, dangerous and so on). I’m a black dude and I believe it’s total genetics. I’m the youngest boy of 4 and I’m also the smallest and shortest. The odd part is, now that I’m in my 30s as I get older I’m also getting stronger. Not only that, but my metabolism has slowed down so the mass stays on versus staying more lean like I was in my teens and 20s. There’s definitely more of a diet factor now that I’m older and my body is reacting the way it is to building strength and muscle.

    Genetics is not a quick excuse. You can see people who have objectively better muscle belly fullness and insertions than you do. No matter how hard you work or how much muscle you build you will never be able to get the genetic muscle shape they do and overall aesthetic. Ever. Let alone shoulder width, clavicle insertion and waist size, another huge genetic trait which cannot be modified via training and plays the biggest role in how someone’s physique will turn out. Ratio of fast twitch to slow twitch muscle fibres within the muscle .. again another solely genetic trait which is a huge muscle growth variable. Aside from genetic structure, MTOR levels are huge and not talked about enough. Some people’s MTOR levels do not diminish as fast as the next person and that is another genetic variable which plays a huge role in someone’s ability to pack on Continuous muscle growth. Great genetics can always override a sub par diet and training routine but the opposite isn’t true. Genetics is everything.

      Yes all of all that is true but how impactful is that to the average lifter? Most people just want to look "good" (subjective). There's not many people out there that are wanting to push themselves to limit of muscle growth and compete as a bodybuilder. That in mind as target, it then does become an excuse to use genetics as a reason why you can't build a decent amount of muscle. It is achievable for most people to pack on a decent amount of muscle to look "decent" even if you have less than average genetics. It may take some longer than others, yes, due to less than average genetics. They may not look all the same as other lifters, yes, due to less than average genetics. But is the reason someone can't put on any muscle genetics? No, that's a poor excuse. And a lot of people do fall back on that excuse. Genetics is not everything, especially when it comes to context in how people want to look.

    I have seen guys who don't lift weights who are more muscular than guys who go to the gym 4 times a day. Genetics and testosterone levels matter a lot.

    I will say last year I stayed in an extreme deficit lost a bunch of weight got to 180 looked ok
    I took a break started again on more maintenance calories I’m at 205 and look better then I did after ten months of lifting
    I have noticed my body changes quick but adapts quickly as well though
    Extreme deficit is definitely hard and not so beneficial guys try maintaining more it’s definitely the better route

    Im deffo an outlier. 215lbs 6'0 roughly 15% bf and only started gym during lockdown. Played soccer all my life but always had a big build even so.

      This is correct but as someone who also works in the construction industry , I can tell you the majority of diets are terrible with construction workers. You see pizza boxes. Burger King cups, Mountain Dew bottles, bags of chips, carry out diner boxes all over the job site. They’re are physically working but their diet is shit.

    I build muscle at a superhuman rate. Trash diet. Low calories. Low effort lifting, Only supplement I use is whey protein. It defies basic physics. I just started a retrain and two weeks later it’s made me critically anaemic from fuelling the muscles so fast. However, I plateau really quickly and find it difficult getting anywhere close to my end goal despite eventually switching to a serious regime/diet.

    I trained for 6 months when i was 17 and 3 years later at 20 ive noticed insane results when getting back at the gym. 2 months in my biceps grew by 2.2 inches and its one of my lagging body parts

    Diet is the majority of all muscle building, you just can't ignore it. I had great success with the Agoge Diet plan. Would recommend it to anyone!

    Stress and anxiety. Everything else you can control to some degree. You cannot control things like Covid and all the problems it creates, death of a loved one, marital issues etc.

    Genetics will likely be the most important factor. Personally i don't work out in any way shape or form other than commuting to and from work and doing grocery runs with my bicycle i don't do much, but i look like I've been lifting for years, i also eat a lot of protein rich foods, i love dairy, we got a lot of high quality dairy products here in Norway which probably helps. I am also really strong, always was since i was a kid, i could beat some adults in arm wrestling when i was 10 years old, but genetics genetics and genetics, my mother has some insane forearms and legs some men would die for, but she doesn't like it much which is why she do not like wearing any kind of shorts and short sleeved anything due to her masculine physiology, she lives a static life, i have been thinking about my potential if i ever would start lifting but i just do not have the motivation or the desire to do these things yet at least...

    I've played football most of my life, I'm 45 now and if I don't work out for a year, and then start working out, it's like my body goes back to being muscular and cut in about a month.. it's gotta be muscle memory with genetics

    "270 lbs and the guy works out twice a week" LMFAO i lol'd at this, and honestly it makes me cry that some people exist with these genetics, but good for them. I'm either a hardgainer or something close to it, if I'm not at or above 3000-3500 calories every day without missing then my weight isn't moving. That being said I'm up 39 lbs in the last year, stronger than I have ever been. Natty

    Well I can’t build muscle at all. Despite training hard and eating a crap ton and slamming protine every day for a year or I’ve gained maybe 30 pounds in the last year and I haven’t gained any size none

      People who gain weight easier have a easier time building muscle. Skinny people are considered hard gainers they put on muscle lot slower and have to eat a lot more because if it.

      I wish I was in your situation, because I'm a True hard gainer, I burn food by just looking at it and find it extremely difficult to build muscle. It's also been postulated that a high metabolism will age you a lot quicker..

    My friends make fun that I just have to go to the gym once and I get jacked. It's seriously insane!! I feel bad man! People are trying so hard. I'm not on any kind of diet and my sleep is horrible. It HAS to be genetics!

    Biodiversity is REAL! I'm 42 (~ 1.8m tall and ~ 65kg). I've weight trained since around the time i was 18, becoming a bit obsessive about fitness. I believe i could have achieved much more, had i not got so caught up in fitness. I still live at home with my mother, am sexually abstinent, somewhat (still masturbate at times, but would like to cease that also sometime soon. During my early days weight training, i was completely abstinent, no masturbation for around 3 years, channelling my libido into weight training) , i m not celibate, i've had sexual intercourse once (penetrative sexual intercourse). I peaked in weight at around 82 kg, but was around 30% body fat apparently, form all the food intake, when i was in my 20's. In hindsight, wow.... how stupid and foolish. I was eating around 8 - 12 Weet-Bix before work at times, or toasted slices of bread (possibly up to 10 slices), then some largish meal for morning tea/break (2 - 4 tuna sandwiches, i think), then lunch (possible up to 250g of rice and something else, possible tuna again, or chicken), then dinner. I was also snacking in between these meals (sultanas ..etc). Near constant muscle aching and flatulence, was part of my lifestyle, for years. Although i trained my legs and calfs, as part of my split routine, they never really developed appreciatively, but because of my slender bone structure and lack of upper body development, i suppose i didn't look to ridiculous (top heavy, bottom thin/light, like a seagull :), but some people noticed my disproportionate development, and let me know so (I certainly was already aware, i was not that delusional, but was so perhaps, in the belief of what i could attain with weight training). A while before typing this, i was about to perform push ups, with push up handles, but stopped myself. Not a good thing (IMO, in regard to aesthetics) to exercise upper body, without exercising lower body also, but I really dislike squating, leg pressing..etc, to be sore the next day, for no real decent development (pain, no gain *~* , masochist much?). People who say you just need to eat more, train more intensely, be more dedicated (obsessive), sleep/rest more, blah, blah, blah, in order to get significantly bigger/stronger, either do not believe that biodiversity is real (we are all like a blank slate), or are being dishonest (many are for the sake of profiting from supplement sales). Genetics is the ultimate factor in ones actual ability to achieve things (not just muscle or strength), other qualities being equal, but how can these qualities even be measured (You know in your "heart of hearts" if you worked hard, ate well enough, recuperated well..etc) by observant others?
    At 42, i'm "over" the whole gym culture and want to focus my energies into more materially productive endeavours, like generating more wealth, perhaps some DIY..etc. Also, while i was a gym member, i paid for the privilege of working out, to then put energy into working in warehouses/factories as a so called unskilled manual labourer (pay rate, relatively on the low side)
    for someone else, with people in managerial roles demanding more and more productivity from myself, no matter how much effort i made (where the fuck was my self respect man!) from people much bigger/stronger (who may not have even lifted gym weight plates before), than myself. In hindsight, pretty pathetic of me to allow that. I have questioned to myself why i placed so much importance on getting bigger/stronger, muscular. I have come to conclusions that i'm not going to disclose right now.
    I've wasted a lot of time in the pursuit of fitness, that could of been spent on other more rewarding things.
    Plenty of females want to be bigger and stronger now, also, in this day and age. These types of women, likely will expect a boyfriend or husband to be even fitter (physically) than them.

    Pharmucutical drugs damage the brain and cause hormonal imbalances. When your testosterone levels are damaged. You will not build anymore muscle. They ruin the ability to build muscle have erections they cause genital numbness retrograde ejaculation low sperm count. Some excuses are legitimate I'm speaking from experience. I cannot eat enough due to bloating. I eat lean beef try to get my vegetables and fruits. Some people cannot eat enough due to bloating disorders. I rarely get hungry. Also eating whole foods are expensive. Some people have a budget and some people have disabilities wich make access to enough healthy food really difficult. Some people still live with there parents as well due to disabilities. It's not really that simplistic. There are more circumstances and barriers than for the norm.

    This is your worst video. Genetics aren HUGE! Want proof? Many people have a muscle group or two that is genetically superior to their other body parts. My back grows so much easier than my chest. I don't work legs as much as upper body. I sometimes neglect legs. My best body part? My butt. From the time I was a skinny teen ager, girls commented on my butt. It looks muscular with no effort. My arms are super slow to grow. Genetics are the number one factor. I hate it but it's true.
