If I could go back and buy a car I had from the 90’s I’d have my 1.3 Nova SR with 3-spoke alloys, red checked bucket seats and the Magnex exhaust that would set off all the car alarms in the Romford multi-storey car park! Loving the VXR.
My friend had one as his first car in the early 90s. White.B reg with the check interior. I had A Mk1 Opel Kadett 1.3 SR X reg in Green at the same time as my first car. Loved them both. We were car mad and went through pretty much every hot hatch between us including Citroen Visa GTI, 205s,309s, Escort and Fiesta RS Turbos,Renault 19 16v,Uno Turbo,5 GTT,loads of GTE’s, too many to keep reeling off but we didn’t keep the same cars too long
Congratulations mate, cracking story behind the VXR and your dream. I just bought myself a 2012 Arden blue Corsa VXR, used to be a massive VXR man back in the day and at 42 I’m back 🤣🤣
Honestly the black and white driving scene really touched me, I had one of these 2 years ago and nothing if had since has gave me the feeling this car did and if had some quick things, maybe in the future a vxr will return in my life 😢😂
Easy enough to repair these boxes, few specialists about. Had mine whining in 6th at 33k which is also common Fresh set of bearings will be good as new
The problem with your gearbox jumping out of gear is basically a small part that holds it in gear has worn out and happens on any car your best off just getting another gearbox and new clutch kit to go in and fresh oil and it'll be spot on again for you 🙂
Keep going with this buddy. Im hankering after an arden blue corsa vxr. Wanted one when they were new but never took the plunge. Im 36 now and after owning mk6 mk7 fiesta st’s i still really want one of these 🤷🏻♂️

It’s sound like your gearbox unit is faulty possibly why it’s decided to abandoned 8 years ago. Try change gearbox oil, flush old one out and put fresher oil on to see if it fix. If it not, then it’s time to swap gearbox

Lucky enough to have had a white g reg mk 1 sr with the 1400 fitted it was rare but at the time I had no idea. Gutted

Standard gearbox issues they are specialists who can sort it. Also engine has trouble with piston meltdown. Best to get it fully forged before Tuning.
I Ansolutly loved my star silver Corsa VXR ❤ W G Motorworks sorted my M32 gearbox on an Astra 👍 She is definitely worth fixing ❤

false, my zafira VXR has done over 130,000 miles on the same box. It's all down to maintenance
