    I just replaced my thermostat today after watching your video. It was a piece of cake and it took me all of about 20 minutes to complete. One thing that saved me a lot of time and aggravation was using a 7/8 ratcheting open end wrench rather than a socket. I slipped the wire leads through the hole and had the thermostat out and replace in about 2 minutes. Thanks very much for your video.

    great info, I just used the 10A fuse to prove that I need a new thermostat and avoid taking it to a dealer...

    Thank you for your Aqua-Hot replacement video. It is very helpful. I have had 3 control thermostats replaced in my Aqua-Hot 250D, all under warranty If I have to replace anymore control thermostats I will be doing it myself. In the Aqua-Hot service manual describing how to replace the control thermostat, it states to clamp off the top back left and top front right hoses before draining the fluid and before replacing the control thermostat. It appears in your video you did not do that. I just want to make sure that is the case - that i do not have to clamp the hoses. My hoses are Pex tubing which means I cannot clamp. FWIW, compliments to you, I sent a request to Aqua-Hot to ask how to replace the control thermostat and THEY sent me the link to your video!!!!!

    Because of the difficultly accessing the thermostat and water lines with a typical type wrench,
    I have found using a basin wrench very easy to tighten as well as to loosen plumbing hoses.

      I have the parts. Can’t find a 250D service video. I need to do mine now. Hopefully you will get a video of it out soon. I do have one question on this video. When you pumped it back in did you pump it back in the drain or put it back in the bottle a little at the time?

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Adam-dv1px you need to push it thru the bottom. Once you get fluid in the tank you can just pour the rest in there. If you put it all back in the top you take a chance of air locking the aqua hot or at least that’s what I was told. I haven’t done a filter change or maintenance on it yet but when I do, I’ll put out the video.

    Hey Jarrett - Found your video while searching for a solution for my aqua hot issue. I actually had a Tiffin technician walk me over the phone the steps for trouble shooting my issue and it was EXACTLY the steps in your video. I have the exact same model (250D) that you do. My question is in regards to the barb fitting that you used for draining the fluid. Do you know by chance the size of the fitting that screwed into the drain port? The control thermostat is in the mail headed my way, so was going to go get that fitting you have. Thanks for taking the time to do this video! It's been very helpful.

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh

      I’m trying to remember but I think it was a 1/2 in. I went to the local tractor supply and they have a hole section of sprayer fitting and I think I bought a few different size or I took the plug with me to match it up. Hope this helps

    how did you pump the Aqua Hot full of fluid at the bottom ? I thought the Aqua Hot had a bolt that had
    to be unscrewed and when finished screwed back into the lower part of the motorhome ? Did
    yours have a cutoff switch ? Thanks for the video

    Good job, how did you keep fluid from draining out of the zones when you drained the tank, Thanks.

    • @jarretthardesty563
      @jarretthardesty563 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They said just to drain the unit itself. You just have to get the fluid below the thermostat. I pushed the fluid back in from the bottom to keep it from air locking.

    Happen to have the part number for the thermostat? Seems like one might want one on hand since this seems to be a common failure.

    @ournextadventurejvh what are your thoughts- our burner ignites and we can run hot water anywhere from minutes to hours. We had something fixed twice in the past (mixing valve and ?). The green light on “burner” just turns off. Have you had this happen where it works sometimes and sometimes doesn’t? Thanks!

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m really not sure. But I’d use my multi meter and look for a short somewhere. I’d also be checking all my connections for some sort of corrosion. That would be where I start and maybe find a good aqua hot technician and ask as many questions as they’ll answer. I’m definitely not an expert, would take it to get looked at. Safe travels Jarrett

    Aren’t there multiple thermostats in the system? I think I have a bad ELE-015 control thermostat. Have to reset the diesel function multiple times per day plus blowing white smoke periodically.

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  ปีที่แล้ว

      On mine I only had the one thermostat. I’m not sure on other models. If it’s blowing white smoke it’s probably due for a service..

    What if I just leave the fuse ? Instead of getting a new thermostat?

    • @OurNextAdventurejvh
      @OurNextAdventurejvh  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It will burn you most likely. The thermostat is to limit the water temperature. I would think if you bypass the thermostat it would run and run and boil the fluid out of the system and burn it up. All I know I was told not to do that. Jarrett

      The Aqua repair guy said they had a bad run of parts. IDK it wasn’t too awful to fix. Just part of working out the kinks in a new RV.
