- RV USA TOUR ... We were having major Issues with our Diesel Powered Aqua Hot Machine. It was pumping out a large amount of Black Soot and would barely cheat our water. The water would run cold within 5 min of thew shower. Also we were not getting heat to our rear bedroom zone at all. While we were driving into Statesville North Carolina we called Jason from Jason Templin RV Service . We let him know we would be in the area for a week and asked if he could fit us in. He came out the next day. He was very knowledgeable and beyond helpful! I will say it was expensive but from all of my research I felt like we got a fair price. I can report that after spending $1,500 we are very happy with our AQUA HOT SYSTEM on our 2004 Forrest River Tsunami! Great video. Our Aqua Hot is being diagnosed as I type. We’re just like y’all: bought a 2015 45’ MH and it was a weekender/tailgater RV. Not used and it shows. Much of the items we’re having repaired via Good Sam extended warranty/mechanical breakdown are due to LACK of usage. We have 2 red LED’s on pumps 1&2 which handles heating the rig. Pump 3, hot water, works just fine. Be safe and We’ll Catch You Down The Road!

Well Tim Hottinger I guess you know more than the professionals do. I barely lost any fluid and teflon does not work good when temperatures are 200*F. All the electronics are above the control thermostat that was replaced.

Good timing to find your video. Mine was blowing out black smoke and soot. Unfortunately the Authorized and certified Aqua-Hot technician I got literally broke everything he laid his hands on and then walked away and left me with a completely broken unit. I had to take it 100+ miles to a well recommended service center to repair all the damage at a cost of over $3,000. I now have to go back because the electric wasn't working and I found that the connector on the High Temp thermostat got broken off and I have to have it replaced now. On the Roger Berke website that thermostat only costs $62.50 so I think your guy was a little high on that part but for everything else he did seems about right. I sure wish my Aqua-Hot was as accessible as yours.

@@FreedomTours Yes by a service in Ocala, Fla but it wasn't cheap. It has been working fine ever since and I've also found a local mobile service guy who knows what he is doing. Living in Florida the Diesel mode doesn't get used very much, only what I fire it up just to exercise it, which they say you should do on a monthly basis.

My aqua hot has 1 circulation pump is not running it only has 8v from the ground wire & hot wire ,if I ground to the box I get 12 v , looks like a bad ground,
Great information thanks so much. I 'm trying to understand the clip that was bad. If the the two clips one at one o'clock and the other at 7 o'clock area . Is this the clips that hold the motor / ejector onto the Aqua-hot boiler ? If yes this clip is only damaged when someone over tighten the screw , and yes it can be a B*tch to replace. I believe I could have saved you 4 to 5 hundred dollars but the high temp sensor would have giving me a little problem. That being said for a Saturday repair and to have it done correctly is really a good price. Of course its always going to be cheaper if you do it yourself but no one knows everything . Good video... So, that thing burns diesel? Interesting! I thought they were electric.
Changing Lanes they actually use both... when you are plugged up and just need quick heat the electric is fine. But when taking a shower or it’s really cold out you’ll need to turn the Diesel Burner on... I think they make these for gas as well.

IF YOU CAN'T RUN Trouble free for 5 years at least it is not a very good system compared to a house boiler heating system. My Diesel burning Boiler heating system ran for over 5 years at a time before I would change the fuel filter and I only changed the fuel injector one in 30 years
Gord Currie no system would ty recommend waiting 5 years to service it lol... when we got this coach, it had been sitting for a couple years and needed a service
Would be cool if you could wire it so if its summer and you are on 240v AC it will turn on the Diesel if it senses water pump coming on.

Did your tech do anything to clean the soot out of the exhaust pipe for the Aqua Hot? I serviced my Aqua Hot this summer and it was full of soot too, but a different You Tube video I watched by Airxcel said to not blow out the exhaust pipe. I'm still getting soot out the tail pipe, and now am hearing a gurgling sound as if there is excessive condensation inside the exhaust tube. Sadly the exhaust pipe runs over to the tires, turns up and over the rear axle and tag axle, (think inverted squared off U) then out the back behind the Motorhome. Thanks for any insight into this.

You'll be coming back again to repair more stuff. Should of drained system first. Repaired or replaced ? You got ripped off .

I've read that if the Combustion “Burn” Chamber is damaged the antifreeze will run out the tip of the exhaust. I'm currently running into this issue of leakage out the exhaust, I haven't opened up my aqua Hot unit to get a visual, but was curious if you ran into this problem? Thanks in advance.
benjamin vargas we had a leak yes and it may have been through the combustion chamber but it was leaking more from a plastic fitting inside... both were fixed.
