Installing a Mosmatic Hose Swivel for Pressure Washer

Hey! I wanted to show you really quick, how to set up a mosmatic hose swivel. The hose swivel will keep your hose from twisting up and binding. It will keep you from having to untwist it as your cleaning around a house, a building, even doing concrete cleaning.
Every hose comes with two identical threaded 3/8 ends. One has a swivel that you can turn. The other doesn’t. I always put my hose swivel on the end that does not have a swivel on it. This allows me to put the other fitting on this side.
You just simply take your hose and put it into a vice. The way I do it is I will put my swivel on first. We’re going to wrap this with tape. I use the gray mega tape you can get at Lowe’s. You’re going to wrap your threads with that a couple of times. Then I use “lock tight”. I just put a tiny blob on it. Just a little bit. Anyway, I put my swivel on first. The next thing I do is I put on a plug fitting. This way if my ball valve ever goes bad/starts leaking, I can always take the ball valve off and still use the hose. I can switch out the ball valve pretty easily.
Some guys will take their ball valve and screw it directly onto here. That's ok, it’s going to work. My problem with that is if I have a problem/it starts leaking, I have to stop and disassemble this whole thing to get the ball valve off. So, I always put the plug at the top of the mosmatic swivel. Just like that. Then I have my socket fitting/quick connect fitting in one end. I always have the plug fitting on the spray end. For me, all the way my fittings are set up is: the plug points the way of the water flow. That’s how my machines are set up. That’s how I was taught early on.
So, now, we would put this on like so. That's basically how it’s going to look. That's kind of how your mosmatic swivel is going to look. That's going to allow you to keep your hoses under control. It's going to keep it from twisting and bonding. It may get twisted a little but it’s easier to undo.
So, that’s basically how I do it again. The plug here then put the fittings on like that. I can pull this out. I can always put a gun if you’ve got a quick connect here. You can just keep going. That’s how you set it up. You want to put tape of your threaded fittings and dab a little “lock tight”. Any of this stuff you can get from our store.
