In this Pressure Wash Hose Length video, I provide a few reasons why I don't use 200 feet of pressure wash hose length. When a hose of this length bursts, everything about your day becomes a big PITA. I use 2/100 foot lengths and always carry spare 50 foot lengths in case we need the 50 foot lengths are easy to store on your truck or trailer, and are not only great as spares to replace a broken hose, can also be used when needing that extra length on a larger job.

I just bought 100m and cut it for 70m on my reel. 1m to the pump and left over as spare. I used reusable fittings and carry all that as spares in my kit. Can cut and make my own hoses on site quickly..
OMG this video just saved me. Up until 2 weeks ago I had never used a pressure washer in my life. I keep the dock sprayed down at work and was literally going to buy a water hose or two to reach the entire loading dock. It never dawned on me to just get the pressure washer hoses. 🤣 Thank you, thank you!
Awesome glad it helped. Thank you for letting me know
We have our reel setup on 150 ft start out then we got 300 foot of 50 ft sections on a separate hose Reel with quick connect you can take off 50 ft at a time and it seems to work very well and we change to the super swivel for our hose reels and put a universal rubber Union to have a no manifold 1 inch flow with a high pressure hydraulic hose hose to 3/8 we also use the hose saver Gator fix reusable hose ends we made a pipe vise to hold our high pressure hose in will you stainless steel fittings on everything great video brother keep them coming
Sounds awesome
Bro thanks I was looking for a new hose i have 2 (50ft hoses) and i have a dumpster pad cleaning job for an apartment i didnt want to buy a 100ft one and i was told to just buy a 200ft hose so i can do more jobs only thing is since im still a bigginer I only have a 2.5gpm machine and i doubt it would even produce the amount of pressure I needed. I was thinking if maybe i could put a quick connect and connect the two I can just use that instead
Hi Doug,
I like that joint tip on joining the two hoses.
Thank you.
Glad to help
Yep. Been there. Done that. Was doing a friend's house couple years ago hose got against exhaust on washer and put me down. Had to go all the way across town to get another hose. Nothing but tourist junk on south end of town.
Thank you.
Dang wish I knew this before I ordered 200’ from you!
Old video. The fierce Jet I use in 200.
Great info Doug👊🏻
Tanks Brian
I run a drain jetting Business and we kind of need that much hose to run to our reel to clean drains we got 200 ft of 1/2 on the trailer and up to 250 ft 3/8 on the jetter cart we run 8.5 gpm at 4000 psi
We use 200 foot as well. Just in 2 100 foot sections
Very good info thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Randy
A little late on replying to this Doug but have watched it before. Could you make up a whip hose out of this same blue hose to connect to hose reel? I bought a 100ft from you fairly recently. I am building a trailer right now and just OCD about matching. LOL My colors are red, white, and blue as well. If not, that's fine. Love the blue hose though. I will do exactly what you've shown in this video as well. Thanks.
Do you think that a (1) 100 foot hose is sufficient length for most residential jobs or would you recommend at least a 150 ft. hose?
If you’ve got a portable machine then 100 is fine. Otherwise you’d need 150 minimum

I don’t understand the benefit of a dn10 ball valve. What’s the difference in using a quick connect trigger gun ? A trigger gun is instant off when you let go, I think it would take a few seconds longer to turn off that valve
DN10 allows me to change from a gun to a surface cleaner without shutting off my machine, cuts flow off to the gun when the seals inside gun start to leak, meaning I don't have to change gun as frequently, can rinse faster w a DN10 versus a nozzle, and other benefits you find as you use one. Some guys will also zip tie the trigger on their gun when using for long periods of times to prevent hand fatigue. Takes about a second to turn one off once you get use to using one.
Can you please a video on DI or water softeners ?!! Is it a must ?! I just got a pressure washer 10.5k and now I’m worried about adding that it’s an additional cost
Yes I will be doing one soon....you do want to add window cleaning to your services. We use and sell the Reach It WFP at dougruckerstore.com. In the last few years many window cleaning companies have added soft washing and pressure washing to there services, so you need to be offering window cleaning, otherwise clients will go with the company that can do both, so they aren't having two deal with two different service companies,
Hey Doug been watching your videos for a while and they are great thanx. I'm going to be adding pressure washing/soft washing to my business this spring.I was wondering if its a good idea to use 4 fifty foot hoses on a reel and carry one spare fifty footer. I was also wondering who makes the best one wire 3/8 hose too?
Where are you located i'm looking for a vender near me for detergents i'm in Madison WI.Thanks
4 fifty footers would be hard to get reel up on a reel, due to the connections. I'd sugesst 2-100 footers and connect with a coupler. Keep the 50 footer as spare. This is the hose I use, we are located in Houston Tx. www.dougruckerstore.com/products/one-wire-100ft-pressure-hose-dr100ft/
@@PressureCleaningSch Thanks man.
We use all fifty foots sections on our reels. The trick is while you're rolling up your hose , once you get to the quick connect section, run the section long ways across the reel and it will sit flat with out kinking up..takes some practice but It works well..👍🏼
Yes that’s a great way me great point. I tried it it before just didn’t have the patience to as you say practice it. Lol. Much easier to replace a 50 footer than a 100 footer that’s for sure. @@xtremepowerwashing1815
I have two 100ft sections and one 50ft section. On the hose reel I have it set 100-50-100
so you don't have issues with your downstream injector pulling soap/chem with 200' hose lengths to gun ?
No I do not
What machine or tools are needed to crimp a pressure fitting onto 1 wire hose?
There are many different crimping machines available....I've never owned on or looked into them. I just take mine to an auto parts store that does it, or a hose/hydraulic repair place
Can i use hydraulic hose for my cold pressure washer.?
No. Not rated for the PSI pressure washers deliver
Nice video . What Diameter a hose are you using ?
3/8 one wire
Hey Doug how much can one guy with a 8 gallon a minute machine and a helper make a year?
Each truck should should shoot for minimum of 220K gross sales...but a lot all depends on your area, your marketing, competition, etc
Do you sell the blue 100ft hose in 1/2?
I do not sell 1/2” pressure hose. Sorry
Hey Doug, do you replace the ends of the high pressure hose yourself? I haven’t seen anyone do a video on how to crimp the ends on and I’m curious how to do it, just incase I ever need to
No I don’t. Need a crimping machine to do that. You could also go to a hose and hydraulic shop.
@@PressureCleaningSch that’s good to know, I didn’t think of that. Thank you!
Napa is a place that will replace ends
@@donvoss1085 yes some do. Oreillys some will too.
You have those bushings in your site?
bryan gibson yes

Doug I need some help do you like the Uber flex brand I am using Simpson as of now and I hate the hose it's heavy and hard to coil up I don't expect to get alot out of Uber flex but what's your opinion on it?
Uberflex is terrible! It kinks badly! If you’re looking for lighter try BluBird hoses. Lightweight, Kevlar instead of wire braid AND a one year warranty which is unheard of in this industry. I love them!!
can you show how to repair a hose
Sorry No, I always recommend taking them to a hose repair place with a crimping machine. I do not recommend the fittings that you can repair in the field. To much risk.
@@PressureCleaningSch Ten-Four sounds good thank you
I didn't know you were into fantasy football.
Oh yeah....love it...especially if it's a good trash talking league....
@@PressureCleaningSch me too. I end up in 5-6 leagues every year lol. If you build a league this year let me know if you need another player.
sounds like you need to learn the over under hose coiling technique. go find a commercial diver to teach you.
Know it very well...thanks. In fact I have a video on that technique here i did a few years ago. Not very pratical for pressure hose. Electrical cords, mic cables, etc it works great for, and is the only way I do those.
