Tretinoin spreads anyway so there’s actually no reason to heap it on especially around the eyes. I just spread it there with whatever is left

I used my 0.025% tretinoin three times per week and had no issues. I'd apply it under my eyes and on the bone just under my eyebrows. Like you say, *never* on the actual lids. I'm on 0.05% now and haven't used it there yet, but eventually I will.

I was told many years ago by a dermatologist that tretinoin on my eyelids was fine as long as it didn’t irritate. It doesn’t so I use it. No eye problems so far, I look much younger than my age, but I’m concerned by these warnings so will scale back and see if I notice any difference

I learned the hard way NOT to put tret on my eyes and I wasn't even intentionally putting it there 😂. It happened because I would put it on the bridge of my nose and then wear glasses before bed (I need glasses cuz I'm blind as a bat without them). I guess the glasses made it easier for the tret to transfer onto my eyelids and I had dry, scaly patches on the inner corners of my eyelids for months until i figured out what i was doing wrong 🙃
My eyelids have thankfully gone back to normal since i stopped applying tret on my nose bridge.

I’ve been using tret around my entire eye without issues for over three years now. Like I don’t make a point of applying it to my eye lid the same way I do along the orbital bone, but some of the cream is definitely getting onto my eyelid as I rub it in everywhere else along my eye socket. I haven’t experienced any sensitivity or side effects there. The only part of my face that I’ve ever gotten sensitive from tret use has actually been my forehead, and I assume that that’s just because that’s the part of my face that’s always been the most dry. I can even apply straight to neck (which Dr. Idris has mentioned she has issues with) without any problem. As far as my neck’s concerned, it may as well be just another layer on moisturizer.

I have used tretinoin for 20+ years, now I have severe dry eye syndrome. If I use too much or too frequently it does make my eyes worse even though I avoid the periorbital area. Now I mostly spot treat twice weekly and full face every other week or so.

My eye under eye cream contains 0.1% tretinoin. I also use artificial tears. A worthwhile trade off for me. Also, mixing with lotion helps if it's too harsh, oh, and Vaseline is AMAZING!

If you've really long lashes like i do, it does transport anything i apply under my eyes into my eye sockets, no matter how careful i am to apply it not too close to the rims. I now have an inflamed permanent red rim around my eyes even when ive stopped. Also red veins on my eye whites from irritation.

Idk this so I have used it around my eyes since I started using retinol. Luckily, I never had an issue I guess. I am careful when applying anything around my eyes thou and I never get too close to the lash because I am terrified of getting stuff in my eyes especially product that could burn.

The problem is creams can migrate to the Meibomian Glands so it's important to keep lash area clear of cream or even apply a light eye cream first under the lashes to prevent the migration of retinol.

I use .1% Tretinoin cream around my eyes and on my eyelids with Shisedo eye cream and it works great! I get peeling and my eyelids look almost lifted after about a year of doing this. I did use retinol products on my eyes for years before this though, so I’m sure that’s helped prime my eyes for the intensity of straight Tretinoin.

I thought retinol was supposed to help with wrinkles. Im 24 so I really don’t want to get eye wrinkles so I used retinol around my eyes 2x a week (+ my whole face) and I hated my life , after 3 uses or so it started to irritate my eyes and it turned a dark shade cause I burned the skin around my eyes with it! Thankfully it went away after a couple of weeks . Now when I use retinol I don’t use it around my eyes anymore (sorry for my bad English , it’s not my first language)

You can use it around your eyes, just don’t get it to close and def use like Vaseline before hand. Or something. The sandwich method people here were talking about. But yea similar experience. My eyes were super dry for a bit I put it directly on my eyes

I guess we all react differently to certain medication but like others here I was left with scarly patches in the inner corners of my eyelids still 12+ months on 😢 they are very sensitive now and itchy and sore. I believe I may of used a tad to much or it just doesn’t agree with my skin Retinols. I used a well know brand too. only used it bcs a older lady from work kept telling me I looked ropy for a girl my age not quite 20. I had slight puffiness to start with and dark circles from childhood due lack of sleep. I barely wear makeup too as my skin is Amazing on my face apart from the panda eyes. Wish I never tried 😭
