I have lip lines and bags which I feel is due to genetics. I’ve been using castor oil last few weeks and just started using tretinoin recently. Is it ok to use with castor oil
I use .25 under the eyes and .5 on the rest of the face. If .5 is too irritating, I also use .25 on the face.
Thanks for sharing. Yes for some patients it may be best to use a lower strength for the under eyes vs the face or different frequencies/applications methods etc all depending on how their skin responds to treatment ❤️
I’ve been on tretinoin since i was 17 my dermatologist prescribed it to me acne and it was perfect all my acne’s faded within months im almost 19 now i still use it but just a week ago i saw many people saying that it reduces dark circles under the eyes so i used it for about 3-4 nights and started noticing wrinkles i’ve never had and my under eyes got darker and deeper i only used it for 3-4 nights i really don’t understand why this happened now i don’t know what to do im not even 19 yet and i already have a wrinkle under one of my eyes caused by tretinoin can you please advise me on how to get rid of it?
Can you update me further as im following with exactly the same issue and same time frame
It may be the skin is irritated and there’s post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. You should speak with your doctor or whoever prescribed the Tretinoin for you as they can advise whether it’s suitable for you to use it under your eyes and if so you may need a different lower strength or formula. They may also need to give you something for any irritation. Tretinoin is a great drug but it needs careful use with input from your treating doctor to ensure you’re using it correctly.
The best explanation.
Thank you ☺️
Dr, can you please do a video on tazarotene for acne scaring?
Will do!!
I have been using this cream 0.1 Tretinion for over 30 years!! My skin looks great but on the flip side --> Can you add anti aging moisturizer directly to Tretinion ?
Thanks for sharing!!! You can use any moisturiser that doesn’t have active ingredients on top of Tretinoin (once it’s absorbed I to the skin). The problem with a lot of anti ageing moisturisers is that they also have retinol which can’t be used with tretinoin or they have vitamin c or exfoliating acids which can irritate the skin of layered with tretinoin. I’ve written a post on the best moisturisers to use with Tretinoin here if you’re interested cityskinclinic.com/moisturiser-creams-with-tretinoin/.
Can I use tretinoin on under eyes? And should I use moisturiser first ir directly apply it? Please help me out
@@UmmulAbrar-n8c it's better to use it only once a week and do not apply it directly on undereyes. Instead apply it all over the face and the leftover little tretinoin on fingers is enough for under eye area to prevent dryness and irritation
Can you please tell me if this works on Puffy Underr eyes?
Hi Angie, it’s probably not a good idea to use anything irritating if you have puffy u set eyes (especially if water retention is a cause). That’s because the irritation can cause swelling which will make them worse. I would recommend getting a doctor to examine your under eyes and they can advise if they think this would help or make things worse.
Hi. I'm using tretinoin 0.025 for acne. Can I use retinol eye cream those days when I'm not using tretinoin? Someone said that even if you don't put tretinoin directly on the under eye area, it still travels there. Is that true?
Yes you can use a retinol eye cream if you aren't using Tretinoin under eyes. It doesn't normally migrate if you apply the tretinoin carefully and away from the under eye area. To be double sure you can apply a layer of vaseline on the under eye area first to act as a barrier and reduce the chance of getting tretinoin on there by accident.
Great video! Just a thought, the audio is a bit echoy. Getting a simple lapel mic would make a huge improvement (eg. Rode Wireless Go 2).
Thank you for the recommendation! I’ll definitely have a look at that. Please let me know if you have anymore tips ☺️
So I can use it under my eyes
Yes but use sandwich method for that
Always check with your doctor first please! Whilst Tretinoin can be used under the eyes with specific protocols whether it’s safe and beneficial to do so for you will depend on your skin, medical history etc. This ensure that it’s safe and worthwhile for you but prevent side effects including dry eyes, irritation and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
does it work for darkness under eyes?
It can if the cause of darkness is hyperpigmentation or under eye hollows skin. However it depends on using the right dose and frequency as well as application for your skin and careful monitoring to avoid irritation any side effects.
@@CitySkinClinic thank you😘
Im a man, african American -45. I think i made mistake? I never had acne , unfortunately it became a reality. Upon using the tretinoin, it some how burned the under eye! I look like im dying !? Smh my eyes look Zombie-ish? Hyperpigmentation Help, please.. Can this be reversed?
just moisture ++. Use moisturer with ceramide to rebuild under eye area
Oh no! If your skin burned then its likely due to irritation possibly due to an incorrect dose or application. Either way you should stop using and apply an emolliating moisturiser/barrier repair cream. You shoudl also checkin with your healthcare provider (ideally whoever prescribed tretinoin for you) to let them know what happened and have them check whether there's post inflammatory hyperpigmentation as they may need to prescribe something for that.
Does it remove dark circles?
It can do but depends on the cause of the dark circles. So it won’t definitely help if the cause is conditions like eczema, nutritional deficiencies, hollowing or vascular. It can help potentially help in certain cases where it’s due to hyperpigmentation or skin ageing.
Tell us something effective for dark circles please
I'll make that my next video!
@@CitySkinClinic aww thank you so much ❤️
Tried retinol several times recently (face serum plus under eye serum). Skin was LOVING it, but my eyes got extremely dry, so I've had to discontinue. A shame, as my skin looked and felt great even after a few uses. Are there safe under eye alternatives?
That’s unfortunate though it may be that you need to use a lower strength of retinol and start with a low frequency then gradually work up to using every other night and nightly. Also a lot of people find sandwiching retinol between two layers of a thick moisturiser or eye cream can help with dryness.

Mam, i have dark circles and puffy eyes, can i use tretinion 0.25 under eyes before going to bed ?
As Tretinoin can be irritating, its probably not a great idea to apply it if you have under eye bags as the irritation might attract water and cause them to look baggier in the mornings.
