I recently saw a documentary with Queen Elizabeth II (may she rest in peace), and noticed that despite her old age and wrinkles, her skin looked amazing!
As a night owl, I'm like how can she be so perky at 6am? Always look forward to your Saturday videos. It's like hanging out with my girlfriend or my sister but with skin knowledge thrown in. Best wishes for good skin, good health, and much laughter in this coming year to everyone reading this.
@@seralynn7286 Apparently we night owls are most likely to have ADHD. When everyone else goes to bed, and the distractions go away, we are finally able to think.
@@MyFocusVaries That would make sense. I work from home and during the work day, I'm physically present. I’ve been binge-watching your videos, and I’d like to propose “aging support” as an alternative for “anti-aging”. The meaning is obvious so it doesn’t require additional explanation, and it still twigs the keyword “aging” for searches and title recognition, but it’s positive! Also as a Scorpio, can confirm 😅😂
Hey Doc, can you please do a video about which products to use/not use in the morning and which products to use/not use at night. Kind of Do’s and Don’ts for AM & PM
So refreshing to find someone this knowledgeable and honest. Too many "skinfluencers" fail to mention the procedures they've undergone and use their enhanced appearance to exaggerate the effects of sponsored products or products of brands they want to work with.
Vitamin C is one of my most effective ingredients. I don't have dull skin or pigmentation (or many wrinkles), but I notice a definite improvement with C. I only use it in the morning, evenings are for relinal and peptides. This routine works for me. I get the C serum from Geek & Gorgeous, and have no problems with it going bad. Here's how I manage it. G&G sells an empty tiny dropper bottle labeled for the C serum. I bought one. My large bottle lives in its box in my refrigerator ... every few weeks I put some (maybe 1/2 the small bottle) into the small bottle and put that in my bathroom cabinet for daily use. The big bottle gets closed tightly, put back in the box (dark), and back in the refrigerator. I had a health issue last year that completely derailed my skin care routine ... the C in the small bottle went bad, but the big bottle was clear and fresh, right up to the end.
I know this is like months later, but I just want to say I’m a chemist and we actually use this method in the lab to store chemicals that degrade easily! So good job! I love this.
@@saramccauley4680 I'm not a chemist, but I do "kitchen lab" cosmetic formulating. [Complete with preservatives, pH testing, and lots of "non-natural" ingredients.] I learned a lot about storage methods from my self-education.

I just found my #1 info YT dermatologist (and proceeded to binge watch)! Your videos are so wonderful. I appreciate how you break down and explain the legitimate study science of things so we can actually understand, but you seem so open to the things that dermatology just doesn't know or the potential for new information to change the existing science of what we do. Just... Yay for the Science.TY, You are awesome and we are so lucky to have your time! For "why do people think Vitamin C should be done in the morning": for me, at least, I was under the understanding that vitamin C pairs well with retinol, and that it helps in some way with your sunscreen's protection. And that glycolic acid was better at night, rather than during the day when you're more likely to have extra gunk on your face. Not that I heard it as any specific routine or science anywhere! Just what I kind of managed to piece together for myself as a routine...
You look so good at 6am ❤ My skin and hair has improved since I started following you even though I am not able to use all the formulations, thank you!

I am in awe of your energy! I would love to know what all you do to achieve this. Do you keep a diet that intentionally supports energy and skin health? You mentioned in an older video that you and your husband gave up alcohol.. is that still the case and how much of an improvement in all areas did you see? If your diet and other habits play a role in your skin and energy I would LOVE a video on topic. :)
Unpopular opinion: after years (like, over 15 years) of using various forms of vitamin C at many price points (while using sunscreen, I might add), I've come to the conclusion that they're not very helpful for me. I've permanently dropped them from my routine and my skin looks no different.
I totally agree with you I hardly used Vitamin C, but my skin is very good (by the grace of God) I just feel its too much marketing by the brands...Mostly derms. says don't use oils, but for my dry skin oils do wonders
Hmm...using it for 15 years and no difference? Maybe that's the secret if vitamin c...that you look still gorgeous 😍 and don't recognize the signs of aging...
Since I discovered your channel I have been binge watching your videos. Being a family physician myself, your videos allowed me to help my patients. And now I am more careful in choosing my products. Thanks a lot
Hello Dr. Shereene, I’m only me in the channel and already obsessed with your videos. I’m a guy who lives in wet and cold Ireland. Could you please ( if possible) make a video about men skincare? I’m 47 yo and not sure whether to but skincare “for men” or not. Thanks so much and well done for the brilliant job! 😄
Hi Dr. Shereene, thank you so much for all the information that you share. I discovered your videos 2 months ago & your tips are already helping to change my skin!! I wasn't leaving my benzoyl peroxide face wash on my skin for long enough & since I changed that, I dont break out anymore. I also tried the Bioderma micellar water because of you & compared what came off on a cotton pad compared to what my other micellar water was taking off & there was no comparison, you sold me! I started using snail mucin & its been so great for my sensitive skin & acne scarring. Also really appreciated your BS products video, I always wondered about jade rollers etc & its nice to have a professional tell you the truth about what tools will do absolutely nothihg for your skin. Oh and shout out to the video you posted about what order to layer your products on your face, game changer! Finally I now know why my face freaked out with the 20% vitamin C serum I used on my very sensitive skin from Urbanrx. I won't be using that anymore. You are the BEST! Wish I found you 10+ years ago ❤
I agree that people don't give products enough time to yield results. People are so swept up in the fast everything movement that they want results before they've purchased the product!! Time really is on your side when it comes to skincare. How about a video on skincare hidden gem ingredients. We all have heard of niacinamide and HA as they are in EVERYTHING, but sometimes I'll see an ingredient and have to do a little more research as it's not very common. Then I'll find out it's got great benefits and I wonder why it's not used more.
Brandefy's Vitamin C is a much, MUCH better dupe for the Skinceuticals one than the Timeless serum btw. I've used all 3 and the Brandefy is heads and shoulders above the Timeless in delivering results, and is also much more similar to the Skinceuticals in texture and smell
Living in Canada and so disappointed that we cannot order your skincare line up here. Are you planning on shipping internationally soon? Love all your videos and value your knowledge and the information provided each week. I hope to be able to buy your products soon.

Thanks for this wonderful community, Dr. Idriss! I've always been careful about the stuff I put on my face, but you really pushed me to learn and study them. Can you also talk about intensive k beauty routines? Sheet masks for example are very popular where I live. Are they effective or is it better to stick to simpler routines?
She has said in other videos that she doesn't use sheet masks. They are not necessary if you have a skin care regime, but that if you really wanted to use them you can apply your product and put saran wrap over your face. She said save your money for other things. Hope that helps:)
She would say no to sheet masks. They’re ineffective and bad for the environment. It’s just a marketing thing. You’re better off using products that she talks about in her videos in containers, jars, bottles etc.
I've been researching for a new Vitamin C serum. One of the inactive forms. Your channel has been very helpful in helping me make an informed choice. One product in particular really caught my eye. It has everything i want in a vitamin c cream, and none of the stuff i don't want. It is your pillowtalk derm major fade one. Only problem is that i'm in Canada and you don't ship internationally. Can i have a grain of hope you will ship to Canada in the future??

Dr Dray and Kassandra Bankson have tons of videos on thar specific topic! Maybe that will help. Good luck on your skincare journey ✨️ 💛
Bless your kind face 💜💜💜💜💜

What do you think of Goodal's green tangerine vit C dark spot serum? Hope your dental appointment went well!
Thank you for this explanation👍 I was missing though info about not combining it with niacine
Happy New Years! ❤❤
