MOST DEFINITELY!! I didnt watch this yet, but if its live, Im hesitant. Not that hes not great live, just this song...chills. The original studio version is still best imo
The more reviews I watch by you, the more I'm convinced you were born in the wrong decade from a musical perspective. My generation was incredibly blessed with fantastic music!
As someone born in the 80's I always found my way to the music of decades before me. It is still my favorite music. I remember in 8th grade I wrote a poem lamenting that I was not alive in the 60's/70's. But people like me can carry the music forward and keep it alive, so to speak. At least, that's my hope.
My absolute favorite Phil Collins song! Fantastic performance I just wish Phil's Mic was a little louder in this performance. Love your reaction and I know exactly what you mean 😊
🔥🔥🔥 Phil Collins was a master at his music, writing singing and those drums. ❤ He can no longer play but his son Nic has taken his spot on the drums when Genesis performs. Nic has been playing drums since was 6..Phil Collins is such legend.❤❤❤
Pretty much ANY song from Phil's 1st 3 or 4 solo albums are all🔥🔥🔥 and worth reacting to. This guy has TOO much talent! 😄 He has played with the giants of the music industry and his touring band members are always cream of the crop. Tony Levin, Daryl Stuermer, Leland Sklar, Nathan East, Chester Thompson, etc. I''ve been a certified Phil Collins (and Genesis) fanatic and fanboy for the last 45+ years.💯
Yes every song Phil sings is phenomenal ❤ I bet you like the song I wish it would rain by The temptations, I love rain songs too, and yes I love when it rains thunder and lightning I can fall asleep like a baby
The Roof is Leaking, wiill blow your mind if you love this song. The live performance of he and his banjo player spotlighted alone adds an ambience to the song and performance. A must see for a Phil fan.
I soo love that you "get" Phil Collins. And yes, listen to Phil studio versions. Pul him up on TH-cam and go diwn the Phil rabbit hole. Its beautiful there.
Phil wrote incredibly catchy songs and hooks. He knew how to pull people in with his pop music. My Dad put me onto him when I was young in the early 90s and I've been a fan ever since. And nobody really does ballads like this man. He has fun uptempos and signature mid-tempos, but his ballads like this are epic. And being he was a drummer first in Genesis, the way he made drums the highlight or lead of some of his biggest songs was genius. Phil Collins is top tier. He doesn't get enough credit in my book from the masses, particularly in the U.S., but he is one of the true greats in pop music and the music industry.
Only recently have I remembered how much Phil Collins has meant to me through my teenage years. SO many good memories and reliving my high school years through his awesome music and vocals. Seriously, I haven't gotten enough of Phil, his voice is iconic and so emotional. Thank you, Phil, for the soundtrack of my life!
Ooh, Polo, thank you SO very much for this. I’m English, working in Italy, Professor now for my sins and 73 but these reactions to the soul of my youth makes me young again. God bless you. Sue, Rome
No Polo, it’s not just a guy thing, I love the feeling on a rainy day, it’s calming and gives you a chance to breathe from this crazy and very disturbing world we live in!
I’ve learned to appreciate him more now. Always liked a few of his songs, and knew he was talented. Remember the first time I saw him interviewed I was amazed how sharp and poised he was; could tell he could have been a full time actor too (like he was a great drummer but was then a great lead singer). BUT, as others have commented, in the 80’s you couldn’t turn the radio on without hearing him … Even on AM radio! It had got to the point that if I heard him one more time I’d think I’d puke 😂. He’s like Lionel Richie to me; so popular, so talented, so many hits; but they were just in your face (and ears) too much. But both amazing talents.
If I had to pick five of the top male influential artists of that time , Phil Collins would be number one . His talent soars above . He sings an endless style of meaningful lyrically beautiful songs with an incredible voice . I remember those days , Collins would have a number one hit song time after time. He won several Grammys. There is a soothing quality about this man . He takes you with him and draws you in . Can’t say enough about this star .
One day, I lost one of the closest people in my life, I went to my local watering hole to find some temporary comfort, after a few drinks and zero relief, it began to pour out. I stood in the porch of my watering hole in the pouring rain and put my head back and just let the rain wash over me like a flood. I felt like bawling but neither I nor any of my bar mates shall ever know if I actually did because I was one with that rain! Also when I am guilty I am sure the rain is warranted and may help and those are the 2 emotions that I relate to with this song…
Love how well you listen and appreciate the details Polo! Thanks for the video. I'm a middle aged guy and I've felt the same way about rain my whole life, even as a kid.
Soo many songs to choose from. Hey Johnny Park, My Poor Brain, Run, The Pretender, Monkey Wrench. Hell dude, just listen to all of them. I've been a die hard Foo Fan since 1996. You won't be disappointed!!
I love listening to your reactions, polo. I can tell you really love music and understand it from deep within you. I stumbled up on you about two or three months ago and I’m addicted. Thank you for everything that you do.
I’ve seen him play piano in ‘Against All Odds’. Super talented guy. Premier drummer first. Then a great singer, who went from playing Prog to singing pop hits.
Phil ALWAYS plays drums on the studio recordings. Eric Clapton plays on this in studio, Daryl Sturmer NAILS it here live & the wonderful NATHAN EAST on bass who played on studio 1’000’s of songs & frequently tours with many artists & regularly with Eric Clapton. 👍🥂
Polo... Loved your reaction to this song.. I agree.. Guys love the rain!!!❤❤ My best friend from high school was killed in a car accident on March 12, 1993.. She loved Madonna... I listen to "Rain", by Madonna every year on that day... Please react to this for my friend Renee' Lynn Stuart... RIP❤❤ Thank you.😊
Duchess by Genesis with Phil on lead vocal is one of the most atmospheric and soulful pieces of rock music you can hear. I would recommend that one for sure, Polo
I have waited for you to react to this song! The second I saw it, I had to watch. Would have bet you'd love it. There isn't a bad version. Every one you find is worth your time.
He/Genesis have so many good ones! I remember being shocked as a kid when I found out he was a middle aged regular guy and not the long haired rockstar of my imagination...hahahaha
Decades of music Phil has brought to us…. The sound of Rain is very relaxing to listen to… Polo listen to Lunatic fringe byRed Rider to see if you like it….
It's so great to see you groovin' on Phil. He's been at the top of my list for decades. But if you don't mind, you need to listen to him when he was with the band Genesis. I highly recommend "Home By the Sea." If I'm not mistaken it should give you some good chills. Thanks for all your reactions. I'm addicted to them. 😊
I said Amen! at the end of this song! I remember listening to it when it first came out. My heart is so full. Please react to the studio, but the live is 🔥.
Living in the Land of Illusion is also a great Phil Collins tune. The 80s were filled with Phil Collins. ABACAB is another one. The name derives from the chord progression through the song.
Polo, you have to listen to “Lay Down(Candles In The Wind)” by Melanie. Make it the live version with the “Edwin Hawkins Singers.” It will take you to church.
I just like to point out that at one time he had the largest private collection of the Battle of the Alamo items in the world. I believe he has donated most of it to the Alamo itself for display.
Yes to the studio version
MOST DEFINITELY!! I didnt watch this yet, but if its live, Im hesitant. Not that hes not great live, just this song...chills. The original studio version is still best imo
Studio version with Eric Clapton playing guitar is a must listen. One of my favorites by PC. ❤
Studio version really shows what he can do vocally
The more reviews I watch by you, the more I'm convinced you were born in the wrong decade from a musical perspective. My generation was incredibly blessed with fantastic music!
Yes we were!!
As someone born in the 80's I always found my way to the music of decades before me. It is still my favorite music. sadly, 90% of the reactors are/were stuck with this problem. The music world today has set a very low bar for "Great Music".
I could listen to Phil Collins on repeat. Love his music.
Phil feels the music as he sings.
My absolute favorite Phil Collins song! Fantastic performance I just wish Phil's Mic was a little louder in this performance. Love your reaction and I know exactly what you mean 😊
Man I miss those days, Phil could really sing. It's a shame we all get old. Phil was one of the best!
🔥🔥🔥 Phil Collins was a master at his music, writing singing and those drums. ❤ He can no longer play but his son Nic has taken his spot on the drums when Genesis performs. Nic has been playing drums since was 6..Phil Collins is such legend.❤❤❤

Nathan East is a legend in his own right!!
He dressed like he gonna Change an alternator on stage…..
Lol😂 that was 🔥
Who's old enough to remember when you couldn't turn on the TV or radio without hearing Phil ? JANE'S ADDICTION
I second Jane’s Addiction!! 10000%
Yes, another beautiful song by Phil Collins💖 Thanks Polo, for your reaction.⭐🎶
Phil Collins gave us decades of his MONSTER talents, always a delight!
Yes every song Phil sings is phenomenal ❤ I bet you like the song I wish it would rain by The temptations, I love rain songs too, and yes I love when it rains thunder and lightning I can fall asleep like a baby

Treat yourself and watch Phil sing Take Me Home live in Paris. It is INSANE.
Phil's song I Don't Care Anymore is a good one
Phil Collins never disappoints. Must hear "you'll be in my heart."
Yes! ❤
Keep going on Phil Collins, please. This was great.
Definitely listen to the studio version, Eric Clapton on the guitar and a gospel choir
Phil is such a master of music, artistry, his vocals, the power and message of this song will transcend forever.
One of my many faves of Phil's 💯
Yes, I know exactly what you saying!! Phil is a beast bro!!
I love this live version Phil Collins is one of those vocalist that sound just as good life as they do in the studio

Phil Collins is one of my biggest influences in music

Seriously, I haven't gotten enough of Phil, his voice is iconic and so emotional. Thank you, Phil, for the soundtrack of my life!
Yes! I love the smell of rain! You have great taste in music. ❤
You need to watch Chester Thompson on drums during Phil’s Genesis era. Chester is rated high as one of the best drummers. Great drummer!
Some days we all just a Phil Collins song and I love this one!
I love all Phil Collins! Yes to all of it.😊 Love your channel.😊❤
Ooh, Polo, thank you SO very much for this. I’m English, working in Italy, Professor now for my sins and 73 but these reactions to the soul of my youth makes me young again. God bless you. Sue, Rome
I highly recommend Phil singing The Roof is Leaking, it was never a commercial success but , wow it’s so different I really think you might like it.
Thanks for showing your appreciation and sharing.
No Polo, it’s not just a guy thing, I love the feeling on a rainy day, it’s calming and gives you a chance to breathe from this crazy and very disturbing world we live in!
I made myself a mix tape called "Rainy Days" for rainy days and I wore the ink off the label....
You read my mind thank you for posting this comment ❤😢

When it starts raining and a train goes by, frogs and crickets...I'm relaxed to the point of sleep.
This is my favorite by the incredible Mr. Collins.
He took us to church in this song. From his voice, to the amazing lead guitar, to the back-up singers - love it!
Love his first two solo albums, listen to “I cannot believe it’s true”! The horns belong to Earth, Wind and Fire!!! Excellent!❤️
I dont care anymore is an excellent phil collins track.
One of my favorites!

The official video has several cameos, including Eric Clapton who played on the track.
‘Take Me Home’ if you haven’t heard it, is still one of the all time greats from him.
This song has been my favorite ever since the album came out (I was a teenager)!!!❤

The rain forces us to hunker down and take a break from this busy world we live in.
Duchess by Genesis with Phil on lead vocal is one of the most atmospheric and soulful pieces of rock music you can hear. I would recommend that one for sure, Polo
Nathan #ast plays the bass, Phil introduced him to Eric Clapton and he's played with Clapton for decades, he's practically an honorary Brit...
I have waited for you to react to this song! The second I saw it, I had to watch. Would have bet you'd love it. There isn't a bad version. Every one you find is worth your time.

Since you'd mentioned the topic, another great rain song in the country music genre, is Keith Whitley- I'm No Stranger to the Rain.
How fitting. It's pouring down ❤ dark 🕶️ and dreary 😢 better now ❤ good Rx 🎉 for me . ✌️ Polo...
Love your reactions ❤️. Try listening to a song where the bassist, Leland Sklar, is playing!!! He’s one of my favorites on Phil’s music!!
I wish you’d done the official video in that you get to see Clapton the actual guitarist in the song AND Phil’s sense of humor. Please check it out.
Nice video. I enjoy seeing you react to songs I love. I’ve never seen this live version so thank you for sharing it.
good tune
Polo, you have to listen to “Lay Down(Candles In The Wind)” by Melanie. Make it the live version with the “Edwin Hawkins Singers.” It will take you to church.
